You guys serve an undercooked squid, I saw the server had a tough time scissoring squid, the color was so fresh, that was really a color uncooked squid, for sure the pork barbeque is also uncooked because it is just hidden by the redness of the gravy. As a Chinese person who hasn't eaten a lot of Filipino food, I was impressed with the 2 delicious sides I got and the portion size was generous to make me fully filled which is how I like to be. It's a shame that such good food is overshadowed by some of the most inefficient service. Stopped in to pick up bbq for a Mother's day luncheon only to be stifled for over an hour waiting for the order to be cooked for a previous order. The POS checkout girl was so inefficient that she couldn't ring up the subsequent guests who were just awaiting their already packaged food. A guest 3 orders ahead ordered items which had to be prepared on the spot, so because of that all of us had to wait for that to be prepared and rung up before she had any sense to manage guests simply waiting to pay. We left so infuriated, but sad to say as others have noted... Classic Pinoy inefficiency. It's a shame because the food was pretty good. read more

I was then told i can just go to cashier and not wait in line. 7 hours go by and i am now there to pick up the food. I wait behind someone who is already paying. 1 min goes by the customer leaves and then the cashier completely ignores me (being next in line and did not even look at me or asks if i can help you... Mind you I am 5'11" Filipino born and raised, I'm not hard to miss) and calls the 2 other people who are buying food from the food line. At first i was ok with the first person being that shes a nurse (I have high respect for nurses) but when the second cust was picked before me i was irritated. I finally get picked and told them my pickup order for food. I find out they messed up my order.. We are already at 8 minute mark at this point. Now im livid. I complained and said the correct order and told them that I have been waiting here for almost 10 mins. Rather than providing good service and apologizing for the mistake. They make me look like it was my fault i didnt tell them in here for a pick up... First off how can i tell them when the cashier already helps the next person without acknowledging me and then Second you had 7 hours to have my food ready and you messed that up. 3rd no one apologized for the mistake.. Wth.??! I work in a service environment ever since my first job and this is by far the worst i have seen. Ridiculous. And to think people give them 5 stars... Mind you i have been here many times and have received lackluster service. Not worthy of conplaint nor of any praise. The cashiers at the seafood city checkstands are much busier and they provide much better service. Who are just across the building. Grill City this is how you lose business and lose my respect. UPDATE 11/16...I HATE GRILL CITY... It is official- they are completely oblivious to their incompetence!! Spoke to the cashier about my 20 minute wait with only 3 people in front of me. Apparently it's just a normal day at Grill City when you have to wait 20 FRICKIN' MINUTES to go through a cafeteria style line!! I am allotted a lunch hour...not a lunch day!!! Dear Grill City, As the closest Filipino fast food place within ten miles of my location, I can't quit you. But sadly, you disappoint me every single time! Your customer service is atrocious. Either there's only one cashier during your rush hour while there are 4 people taking orders (ridiculous!) , or there's a language barrier that no one else on the Grill City team is willing to assist with, or it seems that no one behind the counter actually has a job and I'll be lucky if there's someone nice enough to take time to notice that I am a customer who would like to eat. Not a favorite place, but it was pretty good. The line does tend to get long, and dont expect it to go fast. They had four people there to serve you your order, but only one cashier at the time...That for some reason took the longest which made no sense. The food displayed looked delicious, we had the pork and chicken sticks with a mango drink that was delicious. We happen to come when they weren't too busy. Also, my only suggestion is they have the names of these items on their list, but they may want to describe what it is so other people who aren't familiar with it have an idea of the flavors or idea what theyre eating. read more

Before grocery shopping at Seafood City, I HAD to try this place. It was pretty hard to miss, considering it's right at the front of the store. Everything on the menu seemed really good but I ended up getting the chicken and pork. I would definitely recommend the chicken over the pork. The chicken was juicy and full of flavor. The pork was a bit dry for me. I had to try the mango drink too, which was super sweet but the jelly and beans made is really good! Grill City has a bunch of family value meals and catering special. Worst customer service We were in line and this PEN, the supervisor, shouted and asking who the next person in line. We answered we are. Apparently, SHE didnt respect our answer instead accomodated the next customer then us. I wanted a fish entree i told her and she replied "Ang daming klase ng isda. Anong gusto mo?" In a rude way. Take note some people are still there in line. We were in the register, and i gave the cashier $20 cash and the rest of balance i want it charge on my card. I've been here many times over the past 7 years, depending on the time of day, sometimes there could be a huge line and other times there's no line at all. But line or not, the service people behind the counter are always slow. So, today on a Saturday around 12 noon, there was only 3 parties in front of me. I was in a hurry and was only wanting to grab 1 combo meal, and waited. And waited, and waited. There were two men at the grill and four ladies behind the counter. One employee is usually the cashier. One lady was helping the first customer. And as I watched and waited, all the other employees were just walking back and forth behind the counter not helping customers. They were pretending to look busy by talking amongst each other. Then suddenly, I noticed the two other customers in front of me motioning with their hands trying to shoo-away a fly that was buzzing around the grilled food. I had enough. It wasn't worth the wait. I quickly turned around and got palabok from Jollibee instead within 3 minutes, hot and covered. As for Grill City, only go when it's not busy or expect to wait a long time to order food. Arrived at 10:15am but there was no evidence of breakfast offerings but instead there were plentiful grilled lunch items. Total spent was $23, instead of the $8 we thought we'd be spending on two breakfasts. How was the food? It was just ok. This place does NOT know customer service for all the times I've been the past few years! & today was it, I ordered halo halos by the phone because I know they take foreverrrr and are also customer service selective! When I get there after standing waiting at the counter & lady just looked at me x3 she finally came & asked what I needed, I told her I'm picking up 3 halo halo & she really said we don't have any, she wasn't even gonna check till I said no I ordered on the phone, then she opens the fridge & sees it right away.. just a very lazy move. Idkk if it's because I don't speak Tagalog or because I'm young that I don't get good service but that shouldn't matter at all. The other times I've came, it's not busy but they take forever to start serving you. If I could post with no stars, I would. My family and I ate there the yesterday morning and we all had the runs for the rest of day. We made a complaint later that morning to a Seafood City representative regarding the horrible sanitation issues that Grill City has. NO ONE who handles cash should EVER handle any kind of food WITHOUT GLOVES. Food already placed into a container should NEVER be returned to the food displayed for sale, even if you filled it too high (proper procedure is to throw it out). Food should NEVER be refilled into a container that has already been used by a customer (rice refills should be served on a CLEAN plate). I will personally not be returning. Department of Health can shut them down for these violations. Maybe they should before someone dies from their lack of sanitation. read more

I've gone here a few times to see if it was just a fluke the first time (exceptionally SLOW service). It wasn't. I gave this place 3 chances to redeem itself but no. My gripes are easily solvable by management and a crew that gives a damn about customer service. 1 - utterly SLOW and I mean S-L-O-W service. A way around that was to just buy the item and a side of rice separately to save a buck and change. What they do, EVEN IF YOU SAID A LA CARTE, is they charge you the same as a combo. The cashier even greased this lie by saying you save by getting a combo. I forgot that the cashier, and not the customer, was right. 3 - RE-HEATED FOOD. In an effort to try and beat the lunch rush (and the subsequent ineptitude of the cashier to work at a reasonably upbeat level), I tried coming in early around 10:30 (I made the mistake of being on there at 10am and they promptly refused to serve me and continued making preparations despite it being 10 am and despite there being food for me to get). To my surprise, most if not all the food are reheated. Typically you sometimes won't notice this because some places actually heat the food enough, but theirs is BAD. Do not let the environment fool you. You are getting half-assed food without you knowing it. As I previously said, I gave this place the old college try. But it was not worth it. Again, the food is nothing special to write home about. And burning your time standing in line for bad service is just not acceptable. I had really high hopes seeing the luscious skewers of meat roasting over the flames, but the meat we ended up getting was dry and unremarkable. I had a craving for chicken bbq and went here to satisfy my craving. The lady that was serving the food was slow and she purposely picked out the driest and smallest piece of chicken bbq in the tray. It was disgusting and tasted it like it's been sitting out for a long tine . Having grown up in northern OC, I've been to the Cerritos location several times with moist chicken bbq and great food. It took me back to my happy place. The glaze on the pork bbq stick was sweet, salty and spicy which is so good! My boyfriend ordered the bbq combination plate with a side of the pancit bihon noodles and he loved it. He also ordered the halo halo although he said he had better. My husband got a take out for mainly our daughter who wanted rice and meat but she ended up eating the rice with Jolibee's fried chicken. So I took it to work as leftover which to my surprise was very good. A bit too much rice but the garlic chicken skewers were tasty. The grilled pork was just OK. This is a very convenient Filipino spot for me as it's only 10-15 minutes away from my house. My only issue with them is that when I order on yelp website for delivery they always have an item that they don't have. I get a call and somebody will let me know what they have instead which is good. It's not a very big deal since I rarely order for delivery but I just want to put it out there for people who didn't know and mind you that's me placing my order via the yelp website. Maybe next time I will call them, save the hassle for me and the other person who will be calling me in the future.Other than that, I have no problems with the food, the way they cook the food or anything else. read more
