Restaurant Week Menu

Burgers were really good. I got the BLT with fat fries and a Voodoo draft beer. The meat was a smash burger, well done - the way I like it. Condiments on the table are great- hate asking for what should be readily available. The service was nice, can't complain about anything there. Ambiance: industrial, metal, brick, which I found very cool. Nice disco music played in the background.

This was my first time back at Grill Marks in a couple years and I honestly was not impressed. From what I remember, the quality has gone down a lot. To start, the presentation was not great at all when we got our food. I wish they would've put it in a nice basket to make it look more put together or put something on the side (fries, pickles, etc) instead. My burger was very dry, I kind of wish they had some kind of sauce for their burgers to give it something extra. It was not very flavorful and I think for a place that specializes in burgers, I expected more. The truffle fries were good, but very oily. The one thing that was good was the service was pretty fast. The restaurant itself was a bit loud and it's a very casual ambiance. Overall, I am not sure I would return. I would probably check out some other burger restaurants in the area next time.

Grill Marks was pretty good! I mean, it wasn't the greatest food I've ever had, but it was definitely above average. The chicken tenders were good, but the fries were great! I also loved how they give you two (2) pieces of bread with your meal, as that's a nice touch. The ambiance was pretty cool, as it lives up to its name as being a "sophisticated burger joint." I went around lunchtime, and it indeed seems like a great place to grab a bite to eat for lunch. I didn't order a milkshake, but I saw some of the ones that the other customers ordered, and they looked delicious! The margarita was pretty solid as well, and is one of the better ones I've gotten at similar restaurants. Finally, the bartender (I believe her name was either Joanna or Johanna) was an absolute sweetheart and a stud! She did an excellent job! All-in-all, I would recommend, and would like to come back and try something for dinner soon!

Went to Grill Marks tonight for the first time. I love the space. The inside outside vibe was pretty cool. Our server Brayse( hope I spelt it right) was super pleasant. He was VERYYYY patient with me and my gluten free needs. The menu had many GF options which I appreciated but Ofc I was confused on what to choose. I love my burger it was delicious. My friends with enjoyed the Moscow mule so you should definitely try that.

The food was amazing. We went in on a Sunday it was relaxing we were able to connect with the server Grace M. Since we are new to the area she gave us the information of different areas to go to. She took the time to get to know us as well. Will definitely be back

Burger

Ordered a burger. Bacon and blue cheese and sweet potato fries. Waitress was decent. Floor was a little dirty. Typical bar food. Burger was on the cold side unfortunately.

Very happy puppies! Puppy friendly restaurant!

Prohibition beat my expectations. I expected it to be gimmicky, but I left pleasantly surprised…read more I found the atmosphere to be quite space-y (looks great for attending a show or event). The food surpassed my expectations, particularly the red pepper dip. I also saw the teriyaki beef tacos and thought they'd be meh, but they were really quite tasty! Did not order entrees. I would say they should add a vegetarian/vegan entree option (or substitution) (beyond something mundane like a salad)- maybe I didn't look hard enough. The service was good but not anything to rave about. We were there at what seemed to be a relatively slow time of day/week (maybe 20% of the restaurant was full). Nothing bad to say here. The pricing was as expected. Pretty typical. Also, why no champagne on the menu?! Come on guys (lol, again, maybe I didn't look hard enough). So- 4 out of 5. Not knocking it because of any complaints, it's just pretty average for Columbia. Though I do think they deserve higher than 3.6 based on my experience.

I loved the rustic feel, everything made out of liquor barrels, the lighting top tier. For appetizers, my friend got the crab Rangoon toast, and we got wings and deviled eggs. The toast was really good but I felt like it was one note, it needed something to cut the creaminess. The deviled eggs were so good with the cracklin chicken skin on top and the wings were crispy and flavorful . I think they were my favorites of the day. My bf got the lobster roll which he said was really good. The bun is toasted, the lobster is cold but he said it's not like ice cold, it's the perfect temperature. My friends said the shrimp and grits and chopped cheese sandwich were amazing. Only thing I'd say about the shrimp and grits is that the kale sitting on top like that is off putting. It could have been plated a little better. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of my food because it came out last but I got the grilled steak cooked medium rare and it was perfect ! They did put finishing salt which made certain bits really salty so I didn't like that. But other than that, everything was so good. I'd give the experience a 9/10.

Upon entering the hostess informed us they were currently only serving the late night menu. We said no problem and elected to grab seats at the bar. There were several empty tables and a few empty seats @ the bar. However, the only two seats together at the bar needed to be cleared from the last patrons that were seated. We stood there for over 20 mins while Jacob continued to walk by never acknowledging us or the fact that we couldn't sit. When he finally cleared the dishes he just walked away, never cleaning the area. When he returned he still never greeted us or apologized for the wait, the mess... nothing. Jacob: What are you having? Me: Well hello... Jacob: Yea... what do you want? Me: Wow... ok. For starters can you please whip off the bar so we can properly have a seat. There is still food residue here from the last customers. ** we get a visible huff** He wipes down the bar and we proceed to order drinks, while he never really speak any more it's all via motions and body language. Amongst ourselves we check in with one another to confirm that we both were feeling very unwelcome. Instantly we decide that we will not be ordering anything additional and will be leaving after this one drink. Which is just as well because Jacob never returns. Someone , whom I can only assume was of a mangement status, asked if Jacob was helpful and we promptly and simultaneously said no and that we would like or bill. She shook her head in utter disbelief and disgust but then she also disappeared. Just so happened that Diamond, whom was on the other side of the bar happen to walk pass. She stopped and asked if we were ok after witnessing our frustration. We explained that we wanted the check and why we were leaving. She was super apologetic and closed out our tab. Her energy literal turned the experience around and if she would have came to our rescue sooner we would have considered staying. Thank you Diamond. Just A Note: Unfortunately, bad first impression because The Grand seems like it may offer a good time with the bowling lanes in the back.

The place is very well air conditioned, and the space is very intentional. Visiting from out of state the waitress seemed a bit shy/new but curious about Wisconsin she warmed up a little bit. It's really cool that you can see the chefs in their element behind a glass wall while you wait. The silverware, or should I say Goldwear was beautiful. I started out with the All American Spritz- it was good but nothing extraordinary. However when I tried the pistachio martini, I was in disbelief! I was skeptical to order it as I've never even heard of one before and was unsure how pistachio would translate into a martini. It was creamy and somehow savory and sweet at the same time, the alcohol taste was nonexistent. And the rim was coated in pistachio crumbs. Both the drinks presentation was beautiful. I personally ordered the bbq chicken sandwhich, with mac and cheese instead of fries for the side. The sandwich was smoky, I could not stop eating it! If anyone was wondering what so special about the mac and cheese, it's the name of the noodles. And yes, the waitress will sound it out with you lol! The Mac and cheese wasn't creamy, and I found it a bit bland unfortunately. There was no order the same in the group I came with. The truffle fries were on the thinner crispier side, neat that there were different color of potatoes used. The duck wings came out like their very own presentation. I tried the alligator bites, that were served with 2 sauces, I thought there were kind of chewy , and weird enough I guess I have a preference with how my alligator is served since having tried some at the Wisco State fair. I love that the menu feels curated, you know what you're there for and it's not overwhelming to pick from the options of something new. The bathroom was very cute too! And the bar area was lit up, a cool atmosphere.

That created a slightly rushed feeling right from the start of the experience. When the food arrived, it was not served hot. The fries were seasoned but came out cold, so we had to send them back. The service also felt a bit disengaged, as though the server was ready to wrap things up, even though there was still about 30 to 45 minutes before closing time. That said, once the food was remade and served hot, it was really good. My salad, however, was not the same experience, as the lettuce had brown spots throughout, which took away from the overall quality. You can tell the kitchen has potential when the food is prepared properly, but consistency is the issue. The ambience is very cool and visually appealing. It is a bit dark for my personal preference in the evening, but I can imagine it being bright and beautiful during the daytime. The cocktail I ordered was just okay and didn't really stand out. Overall, there is definitely potential here, but improvements in consistency, service attentiveness, and food quality control would really elevate the experience.
