Beautiful little menu for restaurant week
Linda W.

I can't say enough about this place! We've lived in Napa for 45 years and used to go here all the time... not sure why we stopped! Fortunately because it was restaurant week, we thought we'd try it again and boy were we impressed! We were greeted by Carol, the bartender, who we totally remembered, and had so much fun reminiscing about the old Embassy suites before Hilton took over. Carol brought us these beautiful menus and kudos whoever designed those! $42 for all of that! Can you believe it? I didn't get a picture of the salad or the bread bowl with clam chowder in it, but I would totally recommend that, and then I would ask for some butter for your bread bowl! Yum! We then met our server, Nathan. I think you can tell by the picture what a nice friendly guy he was! My husband and I both got the New York steak and it was truly the best we've ever had as well! Chef Garcia really knows how to season and serve a medium rare steak! Thank you Chef, hopefully you got our message that we truly loved our dinner and what an incredible chef you are. The panna cota was our favorite dessert. We thought for restaurant week that the servings might be skimpy because of what a good deal you'd be getting... But we couldn't even finish our steak and brought it home! I can't wait to go back. The ambience is pretty stunning inside and out. Our Embassy suites truly is the prettiest one we've ever been to and it's right around the corner from us! Thank you again Nathan! We will see you soon!

The atmosphere is quiet and wonderful. Not at all what I would expect from a hotel restaurant. I didn't expect elevated food at these price points here in Napa either! We shared Brussels sprouts with bacon (everything is better with bacon)! One person had mac & cheese and that looked so decadent. I had crispy salmon and I would so go back for that dish! Another person had the giant burger and they kept raving over the waffle fries. Service was wonderful and honestly since I live here in Napa, I do see going back. I almost broke down my never giving 5 stars rule. This is 4.9 stars and that's a lot coming from me! Ate again today. OMG even better, I had the French Dip and chocolate lava cake with local 3 Twins ice cream, perfection!!!! I had a nice cocktail with fresh mint from their garden. I am so spoiled!

This place is great! Food: We had the new York steak and salmon and it was cooked to perfection . The salmon was crispy on the outside and very moist. The flavor was intense. My mouth is watering thinking about it. The steak melts in your mouth. Very tasty. We had soup as well and the portabello mushroom soup is a must have!!! Service: The servers are awesome: Nathan and Mayra are very friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable with what they serve and best of all they were prompt. Nathan knows his wine! They even recommended places for us to see... Complete with a map! Because we had such an spectacular experience the first time we came back! The food was amazing! Grilled mahi mahi was delicous and the seafood chowder was very delightful!

3.5 stars I'm not overly enthusiastic about restaurants within chain hotels, but Grille 29 was pretty good. We had dinner here on our first night stay at the Embassy Suites in Napa & I thought they did a nice job. My Prawns Linguine was fresh and tasty. They also have an extensive wine list from which to pick. The Napa Cellars Zinfandel I had went well with my meal. I liked that wine; so I came back the following evening for an encore.

So far chicken wings are awesome!!!

The fish is tender and fresh. It even came with a grilled prawn. What I even love more is the side dishes which is charred cauliflower, asparagus and potatoes. I finished the whole plate and definitely want to come back just for this dish! We didn't get to try the dessert this time but we will definitely come back!

He told us about the specials and I took him up on the special: shrimp ravioli in lobster sauce. Sadly, it was very bland and lacked the "lobster" flavor in the thick sauce. The drinks were awesome. Totally recommend the drinks: Midnight in Italy and Fume Midnight in Italy was basically a very well served Manhattan. But it was gloriously served. Giant cube ice cube, really lovely rye whiskey and the perfect orange garnish that added to the senses as you sipped Fume arrived in a light fixture like glass box that you open to retrieve your drink. It's filled with smoke to add to the drink's experience. My hands smelled like smoke hours after the dinner. The drink was tasty. The grilled pineapple was tasty. But it was more showy than tasty. Baker brie was insanely delish. It was the best baked Brie I had. Perfectly balanced with the honey and pistachio. The iceberg wedge salad was as you would've expected. Decent sized Maybe we didn't ordered the dishes that they were most popular for so I was disappointed. Will have to come back and try another round. Especially for the drinks.

From the outside it doesn't look like a garden or even a beer garden but this place is a full on sports bar. The US mens national team was playing at noon for the world cup but we showed up at 10:30 am. The owner told us he was stressed because the whole place was reserved and packed for the game which wasn't very welcoming. The servers looked extremely busy so we kept having to ask whoever ran by for something we needed. The food, thankfully , was spectacular. I had the biscuit breakfast sandwich no cheese with sausage and I wish I could have fit another in my stomach. The biscuit was huge and flaky and tender and the eggs were fluffy. I shared it with my kid with a side of tots and it was scrumptious. I asked for the aioli on the side but it was lemony with a spicy kick. I hadn't had something like that but it was a nice fresh creamy taste with the tots and sandwich.

It was pretty empty on a Saturday morning around 11:30am, which might be because of the location (kind of at the far end of downtown, and we had to find street parking 2 blocks away). We opted for a flight, which was 5 of the Tannery beers on draft, for $16 - a great deal in my opinion. My friend expressed interest in one of the sours that wasn't on the menu for the flight, and they were kind enough to give us an extra taste of that one without us even asking! They had food offerings, but we were still full from brunch, so didn't get to try them out. Overall, cute place that would be a great option to hang out over beers and some food - looks like they do some really cool events too.

There's music playing, but it's at a perfect level where you can still easily hold a conversation. The bar area also has multiple TVs if you're looking to catch a game. The space offers more than just drinks, with a small bowling alley (six lanes) and a pool table, making it a great spot to hang out. Bathrooms are located just outside the lounge, down the hall near the elevators. Service has consistently been solid during my visits. Staffing has never been an issue, and it's always been easy to get help at the bar. The drinks are well-made and flavorful, though on the pricier side. The only food I've tried so far is the carnitas nachos, and they're definitely worth ordering. Overall, it's a fun spot for both adults and kids, and it's usually our first stop after checking in.

Problem started when fireplace my picture empty got invaded by more half a dozen adults, kids, strollers, with loud noise makers. I am all for NYE celebrations, but our food came out and this group stood all around us, rude, obnoxious, made videos kids. Completely not acknowledging they are at a bar/lounge eatery. I knew it would get worse and asked boxes to pack up our food and leave. Servers were understanding and kind, but more groups kids coming in such small area. I blame management, get yourself a HOSTESS, someone that manages seating. This was worse than a club or bar with everyone drinking because it was parents getting shots tequila, with kids, not caring about any other guests. Food was good, fresh, but it was insane environment. Your liquor license should be revoked.. plan on hearing from ABC. Toddlers sitting AT THE BAR literally on the bar counter.

The fish was perfectly cooked, and the portion size felt fair for the price. The staff struck a great balance -- friendly and attentive without constantly interrupting the meal to ask if everything was okay. It made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. At one point, the music was slightly loud for my liking. Another guest politely mentioned it, and the staff immediately turned it down and made sure everyone was comfortable. That kind of responsiveness really stood out. What truly went above and beyond was what happened after I left. I had forgotten my hat on the seat, and instead of just putting it in lost and found, our waiter actually ran out of the restaurant and caught up with me before I crossed the street to the parking area. That level of care is rare and genuinely appreciated. Overall, this was a 10/10 experience. I'd absolutely bring my family here -- kids included -- and would recommend it to anyone considering stopping by. .

Let's just say the food is good - the service sucks- that's being nice …read more So here we go- We were seated in the corner which was actually nice away from people and it was better for us to talk. So we thought- to my left was glass and seated there was a couple- it was a little uncomfortable - they can do something about that - a little Curtain - some steamed something ? we were looking at each other and it was kinda different . Not bad - not good - just different . We waited 10 full minutes before someone came over and brought two small waters which is ok- and then left - at least he said hi. Our waitress then showed up and didn't say her name - and asked us if we were ready - and then we ordered - I was in mid sentence and looking down and then swoop - the menu was gone - I guess I didn't want to add to my order- Our food came out and the Calimari was good, a decent portion, a bit salty - but - it was good . Then came our food - I got the short ribs - I will say it was really good and the meat just shredded nicely ....it was exceptional actually. My brother got the salmon and I will say it was delicious-- both were small portions with a big price - that's Napa . I don't know how it was 140$ for dinner - for two- but it is what it is. Then we were asked for dessert - a menu came and we waited it took a while for our server to come back - and since we waited so long we were turned off to get dessert ... so we went to Annette's up the street . No worries there is always something around the corner . If you read my review.. you will see she never checked on us - she did come back to get a drink refill - and that's it.. It's the 16$ an hour plus tips I guess... bad service for she will get paid anyway- service used to be important - now it's devices- it seems like she was looking at her device the whole time - the little computer they used to order the food. Maybe that's how they run the place .. it wasn't busy- it looked steady - but not busy tonight 3/7 around 730 pm... No one came by to say hi, or to welcome us in. Maybe at the desk ,, the hostesses . Maybe.. but during our stay - no one Napa is dying - bad service and good food - it doesn't mix well and let's say there are other options- I'll be taking those options in the future - look around you may find something you like - the food is good here - yes it's - the service - stinks - It's a cute place inside - neat- clean - plenty of room- The menu printing is way too small - I had a hard time reading it - possibly size 6 lettering .. I don't know - I'm not an expert on font size - I am an expert on reading - and it was hard to do -
