I was visiting my boyfriend and we decided to try Grill Mark out for supper, not disapointed at all! Nick, the owner, is very friendly, professional and in our opinion a very good manager who knows how to run a restaurant. The food is purchased fresh everyday and the taste definately reflects that aspect! They do not skimp on the meat in the chicken gyro pitas, chicken in abundance! When Nick asked how we were enjoying them, I made a comment that I would have preferred more tzatziki, as I like a lot of it, and he brought me a side order of it. The sweet potato fries were very well cooked but I would like to have a little seasoning on them as they were a little bland. Personally I would like to see a few more beers in the choice however definately not a deal breaker. The service from the moment we walked in was courteous and efficient, regardless of how busy they were! The fact that they use plastic cutlery seems to bother some people, however we certainly have no issues with it. The decor is simple and clean with bench seats along the wall. Being a hardcore clean eater it's always hard to find places to eat that you trust to keep their food clean, and then even harder to find one that tastes good. Well this takes the cake in both areas. The food is amazing, juicy, seasoned to perfection and their juices are cold press and always fresh. The atmosphere is very casual fast foodish but it is nothing but Grade A quality! My favorite is the Salmon and chicken sticks. Served with a side of pita (whole wheat is available if you ask for it) and you can always make it a meal and choose from any of their sides (Quinoa super food is an option and its greeeeeat). I live in queens and it's definitely worth the trip, EVERY TIME! read more

This place use to be great but its going down hill. I had long black hair in my french fries ewwww. The last few times I had the chicken sticks they have been hard and chewy. The American Association for Poison Control said possible E.Coli or Listeria. I say this after I spent all night throwing up from your salad. Your old salad, that I get a million times. Throwing up, chills, fevers, aches, all because your arugula salad. I used to be a fan of your place, but I WILL NEVER eat here again. SERIOUSLY, I am beyond disappointed. The food is delicious however I felt misled when being told this is a health eatery, especially when the photos depict baked items (sweet potato fries) which are actually deep-fried right in front of you. I discovered this place while watching the travel channel. I decided to take a drive out there from Queens. I'll put it to you this way: A friend and I got banged for $30. We ordered the chicken platter and the chicken gyro. The cold pressed juice was entirely over-priced. Now for the food: You can get better food from the street cart named King of Shawarma in Astoria. It will only cost roughly $6 that includes a mouth watering zesty portion of chicken , beef, or lamb. I hope that Grill Mark can make it to one year- not. The most unfriendly and un-accommodating salad place I have ever been to. Can you imagine a customer making the simple request that they chop your salad. Their simple response is "we don't do that". Not for an additional charge and certainly not to just make a customer happy. I guess they are too busy giving it to you the way they want you to have it. I will admit that chicken gyro that topped my salad was cooked nicely and had good flavor. Unfortunately the unfriendly attitude hurts their chance of ever having me back as a customer. Love this place. They are so nice and accommodating and food is YUM! I love the salmon platter which comes with salad and a side. The salad dressing is do delish- it's a balsamic dressing but it is slightly sweet and the olive oil in it is tasty. I just LOVE it! The side dishes include a choice of sweet potato fries ref fries, quinoa, rice and spinach etc... I've had the sweet pot fries, rice and spinach and the quinoa which has chick peas, cranberries, parsley and other seasoning. A huge portion too and the fries are usually overflowing. All for 13.50. The salmon is always cooked perfectly - I ask for it "rare". I got the Greek yogurt with honey and walnuts for dessert. A nice size portion for 5 bucks with a lot of walnuts! Next time I'm trying the rice pudding. ( I want to go back today) They are really prompt and on the ball with the ordering. It may be the owner that is always there - he is so nice and keeps everyone moving along and you can ask to try a side dish. We wanted a extra pita and he didn't charge us for it. My only complaint is that they use so much packaging- plastic. Even if you are eating in- they put lids on the food- on the water cups too. Writing this review out of my current annoyance but maybe I'll give this place another shot for something else in the future. I ordered a vegan burger and sweet potato fries for pickup. Went to pick it up and paid $8.15. For the price I assumed it also included my fries. I got home and there were no fries in the bag. They weren't on the receipt either so I hadn't paid for them. As if I wasn't annoyed enough that I had no fries, that's an insane amount to pay for a burger made out of all vegetables, actually it tasted like pure mashed chick peas with some whole chickpea chunks. The burger was so thin it was insane. There was not one napkin or utensil placed in my bag. I just wasted $8. For what you're charging you should really give a better burger! read more

i really, really wanted to like this place. i love grilled meats and mediterranean food. i gave this place 3 tries, each time hoping that the preceding visit was a fluke. the main problem i have is with the seasoning. it's a tad underseasoned (needs more salt) but i can live with that. but it's the seasoning itself that's weird. the taste of ut is off-putting and doesn't complement the meats at all. it just doesn't taste good. there are too many good mediterranean places around for me to give it a 4th try. on another note, i did have a couple of bites of my daughter's burger one time. the burger was nondescript but not terrible. but the bread was the densest thing ever. terrible bread for a burger. read more

This was a tough one to review. I ordered for delivery, and it showed up 40 minutes past the half hour I was quoted. The food was cold and soggy. HOW EVER, after gently reheating everything, it was really very good. I ordered the salmon platter, with sweet potato fries and a house salad. The salmon dried out a little from reheating, but it was still really good. The house sauce they provide with the salmon (an herb, mustard, mayo sauce) is INCREDIBLE and is also amazing on the sweet potato fries. The side salad came with an oil and vinegar dressing on the side. It was too much oil, not enough balsamic vinegar. But the greens were very fresh and crisp, despite the salad being warm (which was ironic as the hot food was almost ice cold!). It's not the quality or prep of food that earned this a 3 star review. The food is great, and I look forward to trying them another time (in hopes the long wait was just a fluke). The delivery times need work, but otherwise this was a good meal! read more

The food is good here, a bit pricey, but I like it. I usually order and pick up The annoying thing about this is they can not get my order right the last three times I have been here. Its a minor problem but when your spending money and picking up, please get it right. Just ordered a chicken pita wrap, asked for yogurt sauce on side, when I got home NO Yogurt Sauce. Last time asked for extra feta - $1 up chg. for this. When I got home NO Feta, Time before that the same experience, but this time was BBQ sauce- Up charge for BBQ sauce too, which I think is ridiculous. Okay so I believe I am long overdue for a review. Everything on their menu to EXCELLENT let's start there. My favorite is the Arugula Salad with a Chicken stock in addition the kids corner also offers a wide variety of of choices that is all SOO fresh. Allllll the food is always properly cooked and has great flavor! Prices are reasonable considering you're eating healthy food which can tend to be expensive at times.
