Good service. Like the atmosphere ... baseball was on at the bar. I had The Don pizza and added ham. It was a good size with some to gake home. A little expensive but it was tasty ... herbs, italian sausage, meatballs, pepperoni ... lots of toppings.

Food - Great. Service - Not so great. Came here for dinner on a Saturday around 8pm. The host was not very friendly and was saying things to us really low while looking away from us. We needed to ask 3 times what was said because we could not hear her. When we were seated, it took about 10 minutes for our server to come over and ask us if we wanted anything to drink. The pizza took about 15-20 minutes to finally get to our table and we were not checked on once during that time. When the food finally got to the table, we did not see our server for the rest of the time. We had to flag down another server to finally get the check. I have been to other locations, like one in Vegas and had a much better experience. I will not be back to this location unless I am ordering to go.

Cozy nice atmosphere. Very urban Italian looking, good for a first date. Private room available for groups Seating inside and outside Seats were padded though the booth was best, Good thing because the pizza Took a while and they had to remake my hubbys pizza which we never got to see. So I ended up eating alone while he sat and waited . Should have asked for the manager, at least get a free dessert ? Ended up boxing it up when It finally came Pizza was good esp with the garlic butter brushed on but not sure it's worth the asking price. My GF with pepperoni was $24 and it wasn't very big They do have Cauliflower crust btw A full bar Server was very nice and honest about the portions, which we appreciated Join the club and get a free appetizer

The restaurant is impeccably clean, even with its industrial, coal plant inspired aesthetic. It's unique and inviting. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. The pizza is absolutely phenomenal; simple, fresh ingredients brought together perfectly and fired to perfection in a coal brick oven. You can truly taste the quality in every bite.

    Dust air vent

Came back to this Grimaldi's after a couple of years and the service has improved by leaps and bounds but the cleanliness of the place is still something that needs to be addressed. The layer of dust that is present in this place is concerning.... as much as the fact that San Antonio Health Department gave them a 97 with the level of dust that is present over the diners tables.

Came for lunch with the wife and a friend. We were sat down very quickly and got attended to. Our waitress was very attentive and made sure our questions were answered and drinks filled. Pizza took a minute to come out but was fresh made. All ingredients were full of flavor. The tiramisu we had for dessert was also very good. Came out a bit pricey but would recommend for the occasional fancy pizza spot.

I wasn't sure why Grimaldi's had such low ratings but now I know why. Very strange experience. It's lunch time, took me 32 minutes to get this one slice of pizza with olives thrown on top--wasn't isn't even cooked in with the cheese! Seemed as if they cooked the pizza and half way threw some olives on the slice and put it back in the oven for a minute or two. VERY disappointed. I'm a PIZZA person and this WAS NOT IT. Thankfully I wasn't on a time crunch, because the lunch time special that indicates it's "quick" was not represented.

    Hair found in our pizza.

Had a miserable experience. To start, the food was excellent and the service was good. What made the experience miserable? Being convinced to sit outside. When we arrived with a large party, the hostess recommended we sit outside. We commented on the heat and we were told that the outside area was covered and had fans. She assured us it was very pleasant outside. It was most definitely not. The weather was hot and humid. The covering is so old and worn that it does not provide significant shading from the sun. Also, only one of the fans worked and it was not located near us. After sitting for about five minutes, I was being eaten alive by mosquitoes. Our table was right on top of a trench drain and looking down into it you could see the swarms of mosquitos. I asked if we could be moved and the receptionist did not seem at all receptive to the idea and told us it would be 1.5 hour wait. So we stayed and hated the experience. The pizza is good, as long as it doesn't have hair in it, but it is not cheap. It is very expensive as far as pizza goes, so it is a shame that we spent a lot of money for a miserable experience. Do I recommend going? Yes, but under no circumstances should you let them gaslight you I to sitting outside.

Sausage, ricotta, and jalapenos spiced just right!

Mediterranean salad was great as usual, pizza was on point, and service was great! Our server was awesome, very attentive!

I love the thin crust -it's mighty tasty! The red sauce is just right, not too sweet, and the cheese is perfectly ooey-gooey without being overdone. The staff and service were excellent, and the atmosphere was surprisingly pleasant. Given the high, unfinished ceilings, I expected it to be unbearably loud, but it wasn't. My only complaint is that the toppings could be spread a bit more evenly. Some sections were lacking, but I get it--pizza making is more of an art than a science. If I wanted science, I'd go back to school, lol. Overall, great pizza!

The first night I was greeted by a friendly host and sat at the bar, where Billy took great care of me. He recommended the Cotto e Salsiccia, and I'm so glad he did. It was easily one of the best pizzas I've had. While I was there, the cheesemaker let me try a bite of the fresh mozzarella they were making in-house. It was still warm and absolutely delicious. The next night I was feeling a little homesick after being away for work, and all I could think about was that pizza. I walked back in and the host greeted me by name. I sat at the bar again, where another bartender remembered me from the night before, and Billy came over just to say hi. It seems like such a small thing, but when you're traveling alone, being welcomed back like that can completely change your evening. What really impressed me was seeing that it wasn't just me. The guy next to me ordered two pizzas to go, and when the chef brought them out he smiled and said, "Oh, Jose! I thought this order looked familiar!" You can tell they actually know their regulars and genuinely enjoy what they do. The second night I ordered the Fontina e Salsiccia, and somehow it was just as good as the first pizza. Everything is cooked in the wood-fired oven--even the wings--and you can taste the difference. The crust has that perfect char, the ingredients are fresh, and it's the kind of authentic Neapolitan pizza that keeps you thinking about it long after you've left. I've eaten at a lot of good restaurants while traveling, but very few have made me feel as welcome as Dough did. Great food is one thing. Great people are what made me come back the very next day. I'll absolutely be back the next time I'm in San Antonio.

When I asked why they have a hot plate shelf next to the entrance and that I burned my arm on it, the manager and greeter state? There is a sign! I can see a child burning their hand terribly on this! What did the restaurant do? Nothing... several times we suggested something be done and not until the manager realized that yes, this is a problem did he do something remotely responsible. I couldn't enjoy the food! I was upset? Hurting and taken back by the terrible way they handled the situation. For reference, I'll show you the picture with the barrier.

Every dish feels thoughtfully curated with tried-and-true recipes rooted in Chef Luca and his family's Northern Italian traditions. This is the kind of place where quality takes priority over quantity. Our server, Gary, was fantastic. He was friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and passionate about Italian food and wine. His recommendations were spot-on and his enthusiasm felt so genuine. We started with a bread basket accompanied by a little sampling of tapenade, which was savory, briny, and a perfect complement to the warm bread. Came in with a group of four, we kicked things off with the burrata starter--a surprisingly fun and shareable adventure of baked burrata, fresh crostini, roasted cauliflower, asparagus, sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes, and basil cream. There was a lot happening on the plate, but it all worked beautifully together. For our entrées, we ordered the Tartufo, Cinghiale, Bolognese, and Carbonara. And let me just say, the Tartufo was a full-on dinner performance. Gary brought out steaming hot tagliatelle pasta and tossed it tableside inside a giant wheel of Parmesan. He then topped it with crab meat in brown butter before finishing it with a generous shaving of truffle. Every bite was like a perfectly timed symphony of flavors--rich, savory, buttery, and earthy, with nothing outshining the other. I'd put this dish up against anyone's nonna. I sampled the other three entrées as well, and every one was delicious. The gnocchi in the Cinghiale is an absolute must-try--pillowy, texturally delightful, and packed with flavor. Thank you, Nonna Osteria, for such an epic culinary experience. And a special shoutout to Gary for guiding us through the menu and making an already great dinner even better.
