And lots of appetizers and items from their small bites menu - $9-10 each! Full size too --not happy hour size! This is on the bar area. So to the left of the host stand when u come in so seating is first come first serve. Monday thru Friday: 4-6PM. Went yesterday on a Wednesday night. Service was on point even tho they were training servers. We got checked on a lot. Definitely coming back to this happy hour! read more

Not the best experience. We put our name in for a table, got the text that it was ready, and came back in within a few minutes--only to be told they had already given our table away due to a mistake. Unfortunately, things didn't improve from there. The silverware was dirty and visibly stained, which was off-putting right away. The food was also disappointing across the board. The pasta was soggy and clearly overcooked, which was probably the most frustrating part. The chicken piccata was missing capers entirely, and the burgers were very dry. I was looking for a good happy hour at The Shops at La Cantera so I chose the cheesecake factory because they're happy our menu offered good drink deals along with appetizer choices. We chose the chicken potstickers and the Tex-Mex eggrolls to share. They came in normal size portions, so it was plenty of food and both dishes were very flavorful cooked perfectly. We sat at the bar so the bartender was our server, but he was very attentive with our drinks and food service. Overall, it was a great deal with a few drinks off of the happy hour menu. Came at 7pm on a Thursday night. Wasn't too busy inside, but a lot of people waiting for tables. That should have been my first sign to leave. Was told a 35-40 minute wait for my party of 2. By 7:45 I still hadn't received a text that our table was ready and it was really starting to get packed, with people waiting to be seated. Lost track of time enjoying a margarita next door. Noticed it was now 8:20pm. Went inside to check table status. Was told they were just waiting for the table to leave and be cleaned, probably another 15 minutes. We waited over an hour at this point, so decided another 15 minutes was fine. 8:45 and still nothing!! Went inside again and was told they texted me at 8pm and again at 8:15pm, they have since given away my table. I showed my phone that I have not received any text. And I had just came in to check at 8:20, was told still not ready. The hostess said they have horrible service and the text probably didn't go through. Said they would get me a table in 5 minutes. After waiting almost 2 hours we left. There were other people waiting to speak with a manager and complaining. We will not go to this location. And I highly recommend you do too!! read more

We went out for an early Valentine's dinner and had a really nice experience overall. We made a 5:15 reservation and were seated within about 10 minutes, which was a great start. Our server was very friendly and helpful with recommendations. We ordered the mac & cheese balls for an appetizer and they were absolutely delicious -- definitely a must-try! I had an Old Fashioned and my husband got a beer. For entrées, our server suggested the bacon bacon burger for my husband and the chicken parmesan for me. The chicken parm was super flavorful and juicy! Our girls ordered the mac & cheese and mini corn dogs and were happy with their meals. The entrées did take a little while to come out, but the manager came over to update us and asked if we were okay waiting a few more minutes. They even brought the girls' food out first since it was ready, which we appreciated. He also checked back to make sure everything tasted good -- very thoughtful. Traditionally, this is a place that we have started coming to because of the Irish coffee. It is very well done and tasty. Just tried this place for Sunday brunch and it didn't disappoint. We sat on the patio to people watch...very nice ambiance. You can make reservations if you're a rewards member and it's easy to sign up. We didn't need it at the time we went (1030), but it's always crazy busy after noon... We had the spinach mushroom omelet and added a pancake...everything was delicious! Not sure why they have such a low review score...we've always had a nice meal and great service here. We came in today at around 1:15 pm and the place was packed despite the cold weather here in San Antonio. The waiting time was 15-20 minutes but I was hungry and wanted to have lunch already so we went to the bar . Hubby orders the Shepherds pie while I ordered the Shrimp Scampi with angel hair pasta. Both dishes were so flavorful and on point . We also got two different types of cheesecake to go as we were already so stuffed with the food we ate . Recently visited here for a retirement dinner for a coworker. I had been here a few times over the years. Due to the size of our group we were seated outside on the patio. I wouldn't have minded it too much but our section didn't have a ceiling fan above. Our waiter arrived and took our drink orders. I was a bit surprised he didn't have any help but he did a great job taking care of us. For my entree, I had the soy ginger chicken. Nothing terribly impressive. Just glad I didn't have to pay for my meal since it was on the company's dime. Not sure when I will come back, maybe only if someone else suggests it. read more

I wanted to redeem a $10 dining credit emailed to select Cheesecake Factory rewards members so I decided to try the herb crusted salmon on the lunch menu. It was very crowded in the dining room so I asked to be seated at the bar. A cloth napkin is placed on the counter like a mini tablecloth. Enjoyed the dark brown bread and butter while I waited for my entree. The salmon served over a bed of mashed potatoes, surrounded by lemon butter sauce, was cooked perfectly. The thin asparagus was over cooked and tough at the bottom. The picture on the website shows 5 pieces of asparagus but my plate only had 4. The salmon is one of the better entrees I've tried here. I like to dine at Cheesecake Factory if they offer some kind of reward, otherwise I feel it's overpriced and underwhelming. read more

Tasted like sugar based sauce, light brown color, as soon as I saw it I was suspicious. Use to taste Hosin sauce, or something else and it was def a dark, almost black color. Mentioned to server who went to kitchen and returned with some story about new staff. Did not call for manager. Afterwards I hunted down the manager because I needed to know if this is from now on how it will taste, I won't bother returning. Waited awhile, he finally returned, thanking me for the heads up and said it wasn't the same and they did not change the recipe. You would think he would offer something for this meal that was def not worth the drive here. He did not. Didn't even apologize for the meal that I could have had anywhere, just put some sugar water over the fish. The rice is always just ok, years ago they changed that, but I tolerated it for the sake of the fish. Now.... ? On a good note, they finally admitted most of their cheesecakes have gluten. New menu. I went to the Cheesecake Factory recently with some friends, and unfortunately, my experience was pretty disappointing. I ordered a pasta dish (which cost around $25), and when it came out, I found a hair in it. The staff was polite and quickly offered to remake it, which I appreciated. But when the new plate came out, the portion was noticeably smaller than the original -- especially for the price. It honestly felt like a side dish rather than a full entrée. The Cheesecake Factory is a regular spot for my husband and I for a night out. Our food and service is consistently good and satisfying. The menu is huge but has been pared down over the years, so not so overwhelming. There's something for everyone and for every taste. One of my favorite set of options is their Skinnylicious menu. These are meals under 600ish calories. There's plenty of options there too. We love their Asian and Mexican salads. They are huge!! We always take home leftovers. Recently my husband had their Teriyaki Ginger Chicken. They were out of the advertised grains that it came with so the manager pleasantly offered rice instead or to change his selection. He stuck with the meal with rice and loved it. We love their bread and I enjoy their tropical ice tea. And who can forget dessert? After all, that's what they are known for. Again there are plenty of options and with various calorie counts. After a healthy salad we feel we can indulge in a slice of cheesecake. They often have seasonal specials. This month, for the holidays they have a Peppermint Chocolate Swirl option and it was heavenly. I also enjoy that there are options for seating too. I am saddened to say this but we had THE worse service ever here.. we were seated at 4:01 after waiting about 40 minutes. Our 1st waiter was a old biker type guy with a cocky attitude, our 2nd waiter ( shift change) was a nice guy but after waiting a hour (5:03) and still no food we asked for a manager. She came, barely peeked her head in our booth and rudely asked what's the problem. We told her we were waiting over 45 minutes for our food, our kids were already restless, she went to go check.. never came back, never apologized, we cancelled our food and paid for our appetizers and sodas and left. I went to the Cheesecake Factory for my first birthday month celebration of many and it was a great place to start the fun. I had the chicken almond salad sandwich with a Caesar salad lunch special and the meal was pretty good. Of course, it is always the dark bread that keeps me going back to this restaurant. It is still so very good. My friend said her tortilla soup was just OK. They still do something free for birthdays -- so that was a nice surprise since some restaurants no longer make any effort to do this. It was small but nice. We got a place near the front entrance. We were greeted immediately upon entering and taken to our table at once. We had a really nice waiter and he talked with us quite a bit. He had recommendations, and we decided to take him up on the small lunch specials. I ended up with a spicey chicken sandwich, and my friend had a BLT. Food came quickly and was just as we had ordered. Both of us thought our meals were OK, nothing to write home about, but nothing bad either. Let's face it, you don't go to the Cheesecake Factory for anything other than the cheesecake. We both ordered some, and mine was a triple berry cheesecake. It was fantastic! Will I return? The spaghetti was sweet and a little spicy... I can't put my finger on .. I didn't really like it. My daughter ordered a Shirley Temple but we had to send it back and got another lemonade because it was a purplish color and did not taste right at all, especially for a child. Dad had Lemonade, Hubby had Mojito, and i had Whiskey Smash. Love the soft complimentary bread and butter! We definitely ordered the shareable plates, which had generous portions. Hot Spinach and Cheese Dip, Fried Calamari, Thai Chili Shrimp, and Roadside Sliders. We didn't finish all the food. How can you not still order a cheesecake to go? It is Cheesecake Factory after all. As busy as this place was they did an excellent job of the waitlist, food and service. You cannot beat the ambience at any cheesecake location. What really topped our visit off dor 5 diners was the outstanding food and service. We had Artemis as our waitress and she was excellent in timing and being very nice and professional. One member of the family has dairy allergies so even more issues for us but she excelled at making sure we had no issues. We had a bday also and ahe excelled to make it special. We had the bang bang shrimp and chicken, the swarma chicken, the chicken parmisana, the italian seafood and pasta and a seafod salad and they were all excellent. We recently went to try this restaurant because we were at the mall and decided to have some cheesecake but we ordered the pepperoni flatbread and some chicken tenders first and they were both delicious. The drinks were good... not like a local bartender serves, but good and they were very attentive and friendly. We had the chocolate mousse cheesecake and it didn't disappoint. The one note I will add is that their house salads for the price are super lame. Wilted lettuce with some old tomatoes and nothing else. I think they can do better. The bleu cheese dressing was extremely good though. I give it five stars because no one should have to lose a star over a bad house salad when everything else was great, but be warned to ask for some actual vegetables in your salad and be prepared to pay $10 for it with tax and tip. read more

What a disappointment. Sunday night before starting a new job tomorrow, I wanted to treat ourselves (my boyfriend and I) to a dinner at Cheesecake Factory. We don't come here often even though we only live about 20 minutes, but more so for a-couple-times-a-year sort of occasions such as this one.... After making a reservation for 7pm, I looked over the menu to know ahead of time what I wanted; crab wontons, avocado egg rolls, and spinach & artichoke dip. The bread was not the typical soft, doughy, warm goodness that I have received here from CCF. This basket of bread was a sad one, borderline stale, and tough to bite into/break apart. When ordering the 3 things I mentioned earlier that I had my heart set on, the waiter told me they are out of the wontons. Fine, the avocado eggrolls and the spinach & artichoke dip will do. My boyfriend orders the Cuban sandwich only to have the waiter come back and say they are out of it. He opts for the fettuccine alfredo w chicken, where the food runner abruptly placed it on the table. My boyfriend found the entree to be flavorless and not worth the price tag, especially considering the portion size. We also found it odd that it was brought out before my appetizer that was ordered before it (since his original choice was unavailable), and brought out about 5 minutes after ordering so suggests it is not fresh. The spinach & artichoke dip was tasty and consistent to the quality that makes me order it almost each time I dine at CCF, but they increased the price and reduced the portion. My avocado eggrolls, as I can appreciate the helping of avocado in each one, it has more of a softer texture where I wanted more of that harder shell. The bill was outrageous for what we got and walking out unsatisfied and my boyfriend returning his fettuccine alfredo. read more

Very packed!! Make sure to get a reservation online then go to save you some time. We came in 30 minutes early to check in, perfect because they seated us immediately at our reserved time and alerted us via text. So if you put in the steps, you should get your table easy. Our server was really attentive and nice. At the end he even packed our food neatly for us. The food was good too. Daughter of course loves her pasta.
