Especially since it has good ratings AND is one dollar sign :) The restaurant is super small and lowkey. I didn't know this kind of place would be in the Old World Village but it's unique like that. It felt like I walked into the center of HB skate culture, especially being next to the Vans skatepark. It's a cool spot where all the kids can link up after skating. The food was yummy, and for a good price. The menu was not super overwhelming, pretty simple and easy to choose from. I got the turkey burger combo with sweet potato fries instead of reg fries. Substituting sweet potato fries only cost 75 cents! Really cheap compared to other restaurants. The turkey burger was delicious, with a THICK turkey patty and fresh veggies. The sweet potato fries were crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. 10/10 The only problem that I had was that it took a while for the food to show, maybe around 30-40 min. My bf had to ask a worker if our food was ready. I don't blame it on the staff or anything, they were putting in work and cranking out orders as fast as they could. Props to them. This place is hard to find. It is located on the west side of the Old World Village complex. This an order at the counter type restaurant with table delivery. The clerk was very friendly and helpful. The place is mostly a burger and fries place. They do a great job with service as the food was out within 10 minutes. Food was served very hot. The burgers had good taste and the portions we're plentiful. The Fries were very good. Sidewalk surfers will love this place because it has plenty of things to look at inside the dining area. Stoped by for lunch today as I was craving a burger and fries. I have my usual go to burger joint but thought I'd try someplace different. I'm pretty sure I tried this place a couple years ago but don't remember my experience. I decided to get the cheeseburger and fries but I opted to upgrade the fries to the pigsty fries as I don't recall trying those before. The burger itself was good but nothing over the top. The burger patty is thin and could have used more seasoning and the dressing is not as flavorful as it could be. The bun is not a sesame bun and is thinner. You have a choice of American or pepper jack cheese. It comes with the usual lettuce, tomato and pickles and I asked to have grilled onions. I'd give the burger about 3.5* but I'm rounding up cuz the pigsty fries were better. I like that the fries have that extra crunch to them and bacon, avocado, grilled onions and thousand island dressing on top? Yea they are good alright. This burger joint is small but does have some outdoor seating as well. It has a skateboard theme and is next to the Vans skateboard park. Grinderz is a great burger place. Found this place via Yelp based on great rating from my fellow Yelp elites. It's located in the Old World Village section of Surf City (Huntington Beach). Came here earlier today since I was in the area, not that far from here, and I wanted to try a nice and relaxing burger joint like Grinderz. As I enter the door of Grinderz, I was greeted by a very nice employees and she actually took her time to ask if this was my first time which it was. I got myself a double cheeseburger meal with bacon and no tomatoes. The meal comes with fries and drink. As I was waiting for my food, I checked out some pretty cool stuff on the walls. Great skateboarding atmosphere and very laid back. Very similar to Wahoo's. As soon my order was ready, another employee came with my order, and offered me some ranch and BBQ sauce. I got me ranch dressing. I really love the burger. It was very juicy, heaven, and delicious. One of the best in Huntington Beach. So good. I really love the fries too. So good with ranch mixed into some ketchup. I couldn't resist on that. They also have regular burger, turkey burger, chicken sandwich, and more. I highly recommend trying their food. The cost was reasonable based on quality of the food. It was a little over $10 with tax. So worth the money. Service was very superior. The employees I saw actually checked up on me. Grinderz is located in Old World Village, near the skate park. It is super tiny inside and decorated in a skate theme. I think it is the perfect place for people who want a quick casual meal without spending too much. The inside is really small and the few tables are really close together. Its not much of a place to hang out. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and they do serve beer as well. Be sure to ask if there are any specials or off-menu items. The patties are thin and I didn't find there to be much flavor. I got the basic cheeseburger and added an egg, and felt that it was average. It looked a little thin and sad. The only choices for cheese are American and pepper jack. We also shared a huge order of the Pigsty Fries. These come topped with the American cheese, grilled onions, thousand island dressing, bacon, and avocado. Again, good but not mind blowing. I found this place by browsing through what was recommended on my feed. I decided to hit up the spot since I wanted to try someplace new. When I arrived I hesitated a bit to order since I did not knew what each item looked like, so the clerk kindly pointed out a photo menu for me to see each item. (Extremely helpful in these kinds of places.) I decided to order the Pigsy Burger with a combo since I was quite hungry and wanted to go all out in this place. Grinderz is a little place situated in the Old World Village, it's a bit confusing to localize it, but once you see the big plaza sign you should be able to spot it. Inside it's decorated with skateboards, and somewhat sticker-bombed with other interesting eye catchers. The place has about 5 tables and 4 outside sitting tables, so this place will most likely have seating available anytime. The wait time wasn't that long, and the food came in just fine, not cold, nor burned. It was an ok burger for the price it costed, I guess the fry side size could be a little bigger. Nevertheless, they do have an interesting sticker at the top of their main entrance saying, "we have beef with Bunz" which is the other nearby burger place. Funny little detail. read more

After attempts at numerous places that all apparently run by sushi hours, (closed 2:30-5:00), and attempts at getting milkshakes at a place who only had enough milk for one, we were calling it a day and giving up and grabbing crappy fast food after a long ride home. Thankfully for a wonderful five star review from an awesome Yelp friend, we found out about Grinderz existence. We knew we had to try it, plus there is also the fact that burgers are one of my favorite foods. This place is not easy to find, so be on the lookout. I am hoping that all the great Yelp reviews will really get their name out because I would be devastated if they were to leave now. They can be found in Old World Village and in the same parking lot. It's easy to miss but they do have a banner on their building as well as a small sign on the street with an arrow. I walked in remembering my friend commenting on their friendly customer service, and it sure hasn't died down yet. What caught my attention pretty fast is that you are able to get a hamburger combo, (yep, the fries, drinks and all) for $6.50! A cheeseburger for $6.99! None of that $9-12 crap for just a burger. I don't remember the price of the veggie burger or the chicken sandwich but I am pretty sure it is around the same. $1 extra for bacon or avocado. Normally I would jump all over adding the avocado but I skipped it this round. I don't know why. My husband ordered the hamburger combo minus tomato and pickle, and added bacon. I got the cheeseburger combo but without red onion. They have two types of cheese. I chose American. I don't remember the other choice, but I think it may have been pepper jack. Burgers come with lettuce, (The good green leafy kind and not that crispy water iceburg crap) tomato, red onion, pickles, and thousand island. We were given their brand new frequent buyer card. We were the first ones to get it too! Five combo purchases you get a $1 off, seven combo purchases you get $2 off, and ten combo purchases and you get a free combo! The burgers came fairly quickly and came piping hot. The fries were seasoned nicely and cooked to perfection. Not undercooked, not overcooked. Drinks have free refills. The burgers were not huge but I left full and happy. The burgers were deeeeelicious! The staff checked on us frequently. We must have had every person there check on us including the cook, and the owner chatted with us. I love when people care about their business and their customers, and make sure that they are happy. That is becoming harder and harder to find these days. I'm glad that I remembered this place just in time as we were nearby, especially after having terrible luck finding somewhere to eat. MMMMM I am so glad to have finally tried this place out! TIP it's located at the old world complex, don't be goofy like me and search all over Bella terra for the place lol. The burger they make is really really good. Good seasoning, the bread, cheese, and bacon were perfect. The burger didn't disintegrate in my hands, and the onion rings are GOOD-- you know it's a good onion ring when you take a bite and you don't pull out the whole onion. Finally the guys working, Dan and the other gentleman were very friendly, they cut our burgers for us, and my son had a blast eating the food and enjoying the atmosphere. This great place is tucked away inside of a shopping village area that has other stores and offerings. We arrived a bit later at night so most people had left already and it was nice to have the place to ourselves for a bit. The menu is simple with burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries and rings. They have self serve soda options. Went with the double cheese and a 50/50 basket (fries and rings). The burger was excellently seasoned and both the rings and fries were perfect. Staff here was really friendly and since it was a slower time we got to chat and watch the game with one of them for a bit and it was a good time. Yesterday, 3/25/23, I took my 91 year old mother to this Grinder after her hair appointment. We both had the Cheeseburger combos and my mom had onion rings for the first time in decades. We both bit into our cheeseburgers and looked at each other and said the same thing-this is the best cheeseburger we have ever eaten and the onion rings were perfection. The only advice I'd give someone is to get to grinderz quicker than you planned. It was EPIC. From the moment you walk in, you are welcomed and wanted. They are helpful and guided me through what the menu was and how it worked. The food was above and beyond what we thought. We wanted to support local and this place let's you do that with no loss of quality and taste! The owner came by while I was there and talked to our table. Funny I've lived in HB for a long time and have never been to Grinderz let alone to the Old World Village. I've been on a burger exploration of late and ran across these guys. I ordered a Double Cheese Burger peeper jack cheese bacon and avocado also had them throw their Pigsty Fries (beer batter fries, American cheese grilled onions, chopped bacon and avocado with thousand island dressing on Top)! The burger was really good as cheese burgers go, not over salted like most places, is had the right beef to fat ratio, great flow of juices dripping after each bite. The shop has a really cool environment and we loved the type of music playing inside & the skateboarding decor. They also have other items such as chicken sandwiches, vege burgers, sweet potato fries, and onion rings. Check-in for buy one pitcher and get the second half off, so pretty much $30 for two pitchers. They don't have a large selection of beer, but when we went, they had Black Plague IPA (not the hazy), black plague blond, stella, and a saint archer blond.
