I recently jumped on the Poke bandwagon..and im so happy i did. I tried this poke place by my house and it was good..but omfg.SOOOO EXPENSIVE! Not to mention them busting out a damn scale to weigh my fish...i never went back. Then i tried Ahi Poke...good and better priced plus more fish! This is my new favorite place to eat. The food is delicious. The reason I gave it one star is because the gentleman who prepared my food tonight did so without gloves. I should've said something while he was preparing it but I was embarrassed. I did say something when I paid for my meal and he told me "it's OK I wash my hands ."I'm sorry but that's just not good enough for me! As I was leaving he started helping others without gloves I stopped an employee and told them that he really should be wearing gloves it's the law. My whole evening was ruined because all I could think about was hepatitis and E. coli. I ended up discarding my dinner...what a waste!! Please note that the two girls that were working had gloves on. I'm a regular Oke Poke customer. I love this place and I go so much that I've grown to know many Of the workers there. I've talked to the manager multiple times too. I always come back so that I c an tack up on my rewards to get. A free bowl. I usually don't do these types of things but as a regular customer I felt the need to make this review. I just got back from Oke Poke and I had a server who looked like she didn't want to be there. There were two customers in front of me and both seemed like they were scared to make orders from her or to even ask for a little bit more of a certain topping. She was dropping scoopers hard, banging the sauce bottles as she was returning it, slamming the rice cooker top and at one point she dropped the tossing bowl on top of the stack so hard it made a really loud noise. I'm only making this review because I usually get really good customer service. As I was waiting in line seeing her serve others made me want to leave. Like I said I love this place very much but after seeing this serve works the way she did it made me very disappointed. read more

I want to start by saying that we really do like this place and go often. Just want to offer a bit of advice. Do not place your order online. It is not worth the 10% discount. Much better to go in and order in person. I have only done a couple online, but they have always been wrong. Today I ordered 2 bowls the same and asked for half rice, half salad as my base. No salad, only rice. When I got there to pick it up, it was ready- appreciate that. The person who helped me handed me the bag and told me everything was in there. Utensils, etc. I specifically asked for wasabi. Yes, it's in there. NO WASABI!!!!!!! I'm not sure why, but this also seems to be a continuing issue here. More often than not, they are out of wasabi. I'm not sure if that was the case today or not. She told me it was in the bag, not that they are out of it. I tried calling several times to let them know, rather than leave a negative comment. They don't answer the phone, and the voicemail box is full. read more

I want to so badly give this place 5 stars!! Anyway I come here almost everyday because they are always consistent with portions and how delicious it is. Staff is friendly and I always prefer this to the location in Arcadia called fins or tails poke bar. I was even promoting this place over at fins telling them that they need to go and check out oke poke cause it's poppin! Anyway the reason for the 2 stars is we came in one day exceptionally hungry, looking forward to the great service and amazing portions they give. Well unfortunately that was not the case. Since we come here at least everyday, I knew the person serving us was new. He barely even filled one tiny scoop up with protein and mind you that was his considered one scoop. I was shocked and asked for a little more but he then turned and literally added 2 more pieces...I was looking at the other customers bowls and I wanted him to stop because at this point I was already getting irritated at the fact that this new employee didn't even know how to properly serve the portions correctly. Anyway we sat and ate and I felt so robbed and dissatisfied. Usually this place gives me a good full feeling of satisfaction. Needless to say, after eating I actually spoke with the manager and told him what happened. He was young so all he kept doing was apologizing. I think if he was older and more experienced he would of handled things differently and probably gave us a discount for next visit or another meal at no charge. After this whole ordeal, we were still so hungry that I actually spent another $25 or so to take home but this time made sure the newbie did not serve us! I feel like they really need to train the new employees the correct portions to serve us regulars. It would be sad that they change ever, since we regulars got used to the amazing portions. I haven't been back in a week since more poke joints are popping up everywhere that I will be trying. The fish was definitely better quality than other poké places which merits the high rating since that's the most important to me. They clean it up pretty well so there's no chewy fats stuck in your teeth. They need to step up their portions and sauce game a bit in my opinion. This place was mediocre at best the first time I came however I was in the area and wanted something light so I stopped by a second time. Sam was the CSR who helped me and was extremely rude for some reason. While making my bowl I asked for a non cream based sauce and he recomended a sauce saying it was "not that spicy" and drenched my salad in it. Later I found out it is a Ghost pepper sauce and when I told him it was inedible his response was that there isn't anything he can do. I love spice but an enjoyable spice, not spice for the sake of the burn. The food was good for the money (4 stars for food and zero star for customer service ). My major complaint is the tall blonde girl working the counter. I realize she was working/filling a "online" order, but never looked up once and acknowledge the customer waiting in line. It would have been nice if she just said, "hi, we'll be right with you". A friend and I finished an almost-all day hike in Monrovia Canyon and wanted something delicious and healthy for lunch. We both love Poke and decided to stop in. From the first minute, I was impressed. Their selection of options, and clearly stated steps on their menu board made ordering easy. The two young men who were working Saturday (2/26) were articulate, very knowledgeable about every topping and sauce, very helpful, clean, and did a great job with customer service and food prep. The food choice area that you can see is sparkling clean and well maintained. Then, the actual poke bowl. OMG! I have eaten poke many places, and in fact, like to make my own, but this place rocks poke!! The ingredients were incredibly fresh, the ahi stellar. Each topping added a level of taste and sensory wonder from the visual appeal of a well-made poke bowl, bright with colors, to the smell of fresh seaweed salad, fresh ginger. So much to enjoy! I had a 3 scoop ahi bowl on kale greens and it was absolutely delicious. Well done to the owners, and especially those two young men for a job very well done. I do not live local at all, but if I ever return to hike that canyon again, I know where my lunch will be. Go to this poke place. Your mouth, your life will be happy. read more
