I'm a regular fan of the Gringos Locos on Michigan Ave, but this Downtown location on Washington Street was a complete letdown. There is a serious lack of consistency between these two spots. First, the cleanliness was a major issue. The restaurant felt grimy and poorly maintained--honestly, if it were not for the fact that I had not eaten all day, I would have walked right out. Unfortunately, things only got worse once I sat down. Since it was Happy Hour, they offered free chips and salsa. I thought I'd lucked out, but the chips were incredibly stale and tasted like they had been sitting out for ages. I ordered some fish (taco/burrito) option, and it was served as a total soggy mess. It clearly hadn't been drained at all, making it nearly impossible to eat. I used about 8 or 9 napkins to try and capture some of the liquide but it was useless. The thought of returning that mess crossed my mind for sure but the cashier had a bit of an attitude an basedo on how upset I was, it would not have ended well for anyone so here I am. I've never had these quality issues at the other location, where the food is always fresh and properly prepared. Spending $22.77 on a meal this poorly executed was frustrating; I honestly would have been better off with a Happy Meal at Mc Donalds. I'm posting photos of the food so you can see the "soggy mess" for yourself. I remember waiting in the downtown location after going out when I was in college So I tried my usual, which was a double D which was delicious and then I had a my taco I was greeted upon entering and did the cell service kiosk to check in and out. I love having lunch at Gringos Locos especially at the Michigan location. The staff is always so helpful and food served fast. It's also a nice little spot to grab lunch and go or sit for a quick bite. Today we ordered the Jersey Turnpike and Double D's. Both sets of tacos tasted great and all the toppings were fresh. Even though the tacos were great I still prefer their burritos. Their burritos are always stuffed with tons of meat and rice. WOW! Considering my last visit and review in August 2025 (see below), management might just have taken notice of my comments. I went back to ordering the Mouth Hugger and it was a nice size burrito that was stuffed with "Through the Garden" ingredients and well worth the price this time (see pic). I hope the consistency remains intact as this is one of my favorite burrito establishments. I praised the product on the Toast app when I retrieved by bill for the Mouth Hugger. I also noted that management needs to update the outside lighted sign. It's been over a year with it being gone and only light bulbs in its place (some now burnt out!) Came for a Sunday lunch with friends! We were served our food super quickly. My husband and I shared a burrito for $11 and it was fairly priced and a decently large amount of food. I came here one night after a long night at HHN. My guys and I were hungry, and we realized that Orlando is a little lame in that there aren't too many restaurants that are open late late. A standalone building on the edge of civilization. Various taco and mustache art was around. The main dining area was pretty small, but they had a nice backyard patio to eat in. We got ours to-go. We ordered at the kiosk and waited for our food. I don't love ordering kiosks. It takes all of the human interaction out of things. The two employees might have well have been taco-making robots. But the food itself was great, as always. I wanted to get their epic nachos, like I usually do, but I was in a friend's rental car at the time and didn't want to chance dropping nacho stuff everywhere... so I got a couple of tacos. I don't remember what kinds exactly, but their tacos are always top notch. Plenty of flavorful ingredients. Fluffy yet strong tortillas that hold up to whatever moist fillings are within. We came here on a Saturday afternoon, great food and quick service! We have been to other locations, but this was our first time coming to this one. This location was very small, and sort of hidden. If you weren't looking closely, it's easy to miss! The parking lot is small, and behind the building. Upon arriving we were able to order and get our food in less than 5 minutes! I think it's the quickest service we've ever gotten at a gingos before! The food of course was super good too! We each got double D tacos, which is an absolute must when dining here! Went during lunch today for the first time. The restaurant was a small place that didn't really feel like a Mexican place. I thought the food was OK but nothing exciting. I had the chimichanga which took about 6 minutes to cook. I was a little surprised it took so long since no one else was in the restaurant and it still was a bit of a wait. I am sad to say that as a Californian, the tacos here are not even tacos. Unfortunately, I came here with my family for a to go order and we did not know what we were getting ourselves into. Yes, it looks like a hipster location is quite small and has tablets to be able to accept orders on the ordering platform. It had many items that were no longer available which was a little frustrating but seeing as we went after 10 PM, I guess I have to be a little understanding of that. The food itself I would have to say is essentially Taco Bell quality and flavor was odd. Specifically on the nachos there is some kind of sauce that was sweet and did not go well. I also had an order of pork tacos and it was very fatty, which was not enjoyable or my preference. The ground beef burrito was also sweet so now I don't know if it was the sauce or the meat. The staff does not really interact with you until they call your name for your order so I can't say that there was any kind of superb customer service because there wasn't much. We do plan to visit Florida again, but this would definitely not be a place that I think is worth stopping out for a second try. read more

My absolute favorite taco spot in Orlando. Usually when I'm in town, I have to make a stop here before leaving. To avoid Downtown street parking, I head to the Milk District and attempt to park using that narrow alleyway for limited parking in the back. This time around, I saw there was another location in SoDo and visited this one. Right off the street, they have two or three spots in the front and a bigger lot in the back. This is a bigger location, keeping in mind taco spots are usually small. There are seats to enjoy your tacos both inside and out. The staff was super friendly and I was able to get my usual order of beef Double D's. You have to eat these with the hot sauce, so good! THE best tacos I have ever had in my life!! As a matter of fact, they were nominated the best tacos in Orlando (True story). The staff is fun, smiley and fast! The marination of their meat is out of the world delicious. They have chicken, Beef and Pork. I wish they have fish too (maybe they would it add it soon to their menu?) I stopped in for their happy hour and got an avocado double D, a regular hard taco, chips n queso and a small carafe of their sangria. The tacos were mystery because I said surprise me and I thoroughly enjoyed both of them. What was not so good was the Sangria. Sangria is served for on site consumption only. They keep your ID so that you will return the plastic container. It tasted like it was made with MD2020 or Mogen David wine. Ugh I asked them and they said it was made with Carlo Rossi red wine, apples, cinnamon, ginger ale and some other ingredients. Ordering online ahead of time is still easy and pick up was smooth. The order was accurate. The food itself just wasn't very good. The chips are still tasty. The queso is basic, but good enough. The double D taco was just okay. The burrito did not taste good at all. The tortilla itself was soggy and none of the meats had much flavor. Portions have also gotten smaller while the prices have gone up, which I definitely understand because it's gotten hard for businesses. I wouldn't even mind it honestly if the food still tasted good. I never considered Gringos Locos fine dining, but it used to always be a nice treat here and there and satisfy my craving. Now, it's just not the same in my opinion. I might revisit one of their other locations or still check it out now and then, but it's become low on my list these days. read more

I stopped in as I was in the area because I had one of their tacos at the Lake Eola Food and Wine fest, but wanted to try one prepared under normal circumstances (i.e. not outside with hundreds of tacos being slapped together). I ordered the Guaco Taco with no cheese/sour cream so it would be vegan. The flour tortilla was grilled nicely and kept the crunchy taco from breaking apart. The taco was pretty full, but could have used more guac. Maybe some more on top instead of just as the "glue" to hold the shells together? All of the ingredients were fresh, the taco was good, and I was in and out quickly. The place itself was a bit small with seating that could get a bit cramped on a busy day. It was 11a and they just opened so I had no issues with seating or parking. Staff was friendly and helpful in deciding on what to order. Limited options for vegans/vegetarians as you're kind of limited to beans and guac. Other taco places like Taco Bus are killing it with more veggie options (mushrooms, tofu, squash, vegan "steak"). Ordered two double D's (one beef, one black bean) and a large bag of chips with guac via DoorDash. I usually go to the Milk District location but this location was the only one on DoorDash that late. Their beef has a slight sweetness to it which I personally love, and the beans were good, although their flavor was pretty mild. I always get an extra side of queso because I never feel like the queso they use to "glue" the tortilla to the taco shell is enough. The large bag of chips is HUGE, I would've gotten the small if I knew how big it would be! The chips could've used some salt or seasoning, they were completely plain. Popular with locals and late night partiers, this location is slammed with customers most of the time and the employees work hard to take care of them all. I take advantage of the extended daily Happy Hour (between 4 and 8pm) when busting at the seams burritos are only $6 and every order comes with free chips and salsa. Business seems to slow down during this time period and I've yet to experience a long wait. The restaurant is open till 3 am and parking in their tiny lot is often a challenge after midnight. Beware of the ONE WAY drive around the building! New customers are often confused by this and enter going the wrong way. Also, the speed bumps on this driveway are so high that my vehicle bottoms out after rolling over them. I live within walking distance of this GL and would dine here more frequently if friendly communication and order accuracy were improved. read more

One with beef and three other with chicken. I was equally satisfied with both, it's pretty hard to choose a favorite since they were both so delicious. I like my tacos all the way, verde salsa, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, the works. Both came out super stuffed with meat and toppings. Burritos are not my favorite my food but here they are quite filling and they have great happy hour deals on them + tacos. Double D's are quite popular, if not their staple! But I'm more of a chimichanga or nacho gal and picking between those is usually a hard battle. Then, I'll either add chicken or beef, no sour cream. Queso is great but I'm more of a guacamole gal and their's is quite yum. Chips and salsa are decent too. Also, they have a rewards program, for which I'm always thankful for when November comes around! Ambiance is okay since they have indoor and outdoor seating in their parking lot, which is already quite small. Getting out of their parking lot is tricky with traffic.
