    $78 worth of disappointment
    Saynara W.

This place will have you thinking when you go there that the food is awesome!!! The food has absolutely no taste, season anything!!! It's bland Tex mex food that you can probably get at Chili's but with a higher price tag!! I ordered a skinny margarita which was horrible they put soda water on top of the skinny margarita!!! It was suppose to be 16oz for $15 when I told them take the soda water off it was way less than 16oz for $15. My boyfriend ordered the fajita which only came out with onions so red nor green bell peppers. The only thing that had some sort of flavor was the shrimp empanadas!!! I had the enchiladas with the red sauce it tasted like can chilli you buy from the grocery store on top of the enchiladas!!!! Overall the staff was nice but the food and drinks were horrible!!!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Family-friendly Tex mex![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu has plenty of options. Food was pretty good. I had the ribeye steak tacos which were great! My husband got the taco salad which was ok...wish it had more flavor and spice. The wait time can take a while though so would recommend planning ahead for that. Overall good pick for family night.

The avocado salsa is the best!

Gringo's was really busy on a Friday around 12:30 pm but we were greeted and seated right away. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was bright and nicely decorated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff were very friendly and provided excellent service. The green avocado salsa is so good! My husband and I shared the mariachi which came with rice, beans, 2 each of chicken enchiladas, chicken taquitos and southwest egg rolls. The chicken in each item was tender and flavorful. Everything was delicious!

Visited this locale after 10 years while on a business trip back to my beloved Houston. I had to try my favorite burger, the La Bomb-bah burger. It was just as good now as it was then. Absolutely one of the best burgers out there. No wait, despite it being lunch time and the service was quick and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated giving it a familial ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I highly recommend you give Gringo's a try!

I have never ordered the Fish Taco's.... WTH was I thinking??? They are amazing!!! But to add the best charro beans ever "eat your heart out Lupe's Tortilla" and really tasty rice on one side to a fresh cucumber salad on the other side the whole plate is a taste sensation not to be missed!!! We came in for the $5 margs and $7 Cadillac margs and will leaving totally satisfied with the afternoon .., treat yourself today!!!

    Amazon Wrap (Steak)

As a Pearland native, I may be biased in saying that Gringo's is the best Tex-Mex restaurant ever, but honestly I couldn't care less because that's exactly what I believe. Even with the huge crowds they get every day of the week, the food remains high-quality, the service stays quick, and the overall dining experiences are consistently satisfying. I think it's admirable that after all these years of coming here since I was a little girl, they've managed to maintain the same level of quality, and if anything, they've only improved. My go-to favorite is the Amazon Wrap with steak. It's always beautifully presented, the steak is perfectly cooked, and the lettuce, tomato, and other toppings keep it light and refreshing instead of heavy. The tortilla strips inside add the perfect crunch to balance what could otherwise be a chewy wrap. I also love drizzling on the complimentary green sauce that comes with the chips or asking for extra Amazon sauce because both pair with the wrap so well. Truly, there is nothing wrong with this dish, and I've successfully put all my friends onto ordering it. While I usually stick to the Amazon Wrap, Gringo's has plenty of other delicious options, including the steak fajitas, the quesadillas, and even a surprisingly good burger. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, Gringo's continues to be a comfort spot for my family and me, and it never fails to deliver.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you want reliable Tex-Mex with great service and consistently good food, this is absolutely the place to go.

Had a good time at Gringos! Living in Pearland, we're always looking for Mexican food. The only issue with some of the restaurants is limited vegetarian food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we got to Gingos we were seated, on a 6:30pm weekday, it was shockingly packed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated in this very small two seated booth with barely a walkway as there was a huge party with a high chair in the walkway. It was near the restrooms and kitchen![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the frozen margarita with the mango and strawberry and it was huge! Huge and delicious! We then ordered, I got vegetarian enchiladas with the tomato sauce and it came out in a timely manner, however came with the white sauce which the waiter mentioned when he gave me my plate. I was fine with it since the sauce was vegetarian too. The enchiladas were good! Honestly nothing too special, just another Mexican restaurant. Service is average, foods average, etc. they probably do have more meat heavy options that may be better than veggie options.

    Skirt steak fajitas
    Stanley S.

One of the most reliable tex mex chains in Houston. It's our long standing tradition for us to go to the original location in Pearland and we have never had a subpar experience. Highly recommend their skirt steak fajitas ( or any dish with steak) which are marinated and super tender. We also recently tried their Al pastor rice bowl and excellent Southwestern eggroll apps. Service is always excellent despite it being super busy on weekends and nights. Don't let the name throw you off the food has tons of flavor and spices and it ain't just for gringos :)

Pick up picking up in order. The employee recommends the cadillac margarita. The Food smells really good.I went into the place and they had a specific place for pickup, so I had to leave the premises and go around the corner other than that.[[HIGHLIGHT]]I'm looks very family oriented a little more upper class. If you want to get a good time classy date or family , this looks cool.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I had not been to this location in 10 years. Met a friend for lunch so she could see my African trip pictures. The food was as great as always. I decided to get something different. I ordered the POLLO MARISCO shrimp & crawfish tails, sautéed to order in creamy white wine sauce atop a grilled chicken breast, cucumber relish. It was totally delicious! Everything was excellent! Does gringos still have that rule about not letting groups of 8 or more sit together?

Hi Oscar! We welcome all party sizes, though each of our restaurants are slightly different in shape and size so accommodating large parties {groups of 8 or more} vary from location to location.…

If you would like to avoid the rush on Sundays, stop before 11 AM. We arrived at 11AM. They gave us a timer & we waited at the bar. 15 minute wait took only a few minutes. If you are unsure what to order, try out their brunch. My favorite is pozole Verde. It is chicken and it does give you a slight kick in taste. If you are searching for less spice try the carnitas (pork). Their eggs are also relatively calm and easy to handle. I really also enjoy their coffee, café de olla. It is served with an authentic pottery mug. Their soup bowls are also in this same style. Arroz con leche ( creamy rice pudding with cinnamon) is very good. I also love their cute small pasty that looks like a funnel and taste like bunuelos (sweet crunchy rice cake with cinnamon). Great ambience and it feels like you are in a festive place.

Bottom line, plenty of spaces. Side note, they're not all spaced the way you might expect. Walking in, the place was hopping. Much more crowded than the former business. Pretty good sized menu. They serve you the red salsa, but you can ask for the green. The kind that gives you heart burn for hours. Worth it. Both salsa were great, chips were fresh. We ordered house margaritas, and those were also very good. Pricing was average. For food we ordered the parrillada El Malecon. Mixed beef and chicken, with ribs and quail. Here's where things went a little rough. We ordered the "for two" but the entire was still in a " for one" portion. 3 pieces of steak, 3 chicken, one quail 2 rib portions. Definitely seemed off. The manager came by, and we discussed. On THEIR menu, the double portion is only 4 strips of steak, 4 of chicken, still only one quail, and two rib portions. The reasoning we were given is that people don't seem to like the quail. First, nothing about this is "for two." For 45.99 this isn't it. The chicken and beef were good, the quail was not seasoned well unfortunately, and the ribs were over sauced with a cheap syrupy sauce. Overall food was a no. But here's where I also have to give credit. They stuck with their defense, and while we discussed someone brought a plate of chicken and beef. While we weren't going to ask for anything, we do appreciate their thoughtfulness and speedy resolution. Maybe they knew it was coming , or maybe they just jumped ahead to make it work. Either way, we appreciated that effort. Overall, service was great, food was 50/50. Wouldn't do the parrilladas again, but would try other menu items.

The hunger pangs hit and I just happened to be near this place. I've only seen it in passing but haven't really seen much chatter on the local foodie pages on social media or on here. I arrived around the end of breakfast and there wasn't much of a crowd inside. Parking was easy right out front. I was a little confused at the ordering process. Was it counter service or table service? No one really pointed me in the right direction until my waitress Claudia told me to have a seat and she would be helping me. She did an amazing job from start to finish. I was expecting just a taco joint, but they have lots more to offer on their menu. They have gorditas, tostadas, tortas, burritos, quesadillas, burgers, breakfast items, soup and entrees. They also have your usual drinks options along with agua frescas, shakes, juices, margartitas and beers. I was torn between breakfast and lunch so I decided to try both. I went with the dish that has the same name as the restaurant. Tacos Toreados came with 3 tacos with a protein of your choice on a flour tortillas and what makes these different was that they came with grilled onions and mozzarella cheese. I also went with a bacon and egg taco just so I can really judge the place. What I didn't expect was how massive the tacos were going to be. I got mine with pastor and fajitas. It looked more like a tostada with the toppings covering the whole surface of the tortilla. The fajita and pastor was seasoned beautifully and was very tasty. The onions were sauteed just right but I do like raw onions and cilantro on my tacos a little better. The cheese was a nice addition as well. I barely got through two and on the third I just ate the meat. I saved just enough room to try the breakfast taco which was very good. Washed it all down with a Mexican Coke. This place is very close to my house and I will most definitely be back to make my way through their menu.
