Never Again! Con-artists. RIP-OFF ARTISTS. Took our 2017 Jeep Cherokee Limited in for an oil change only to be lied to with scare tactics about all the work the vehicle supposedly needed before embarking on a 400-mile trip that day. $74.99 oil change ended up totaling $141.97 after they added $3.50 for oil disposal, $20 for additive cleaner, $15 for premium oil treatment, $15 for fuel system cleaner & $4.50 for shop supplies. OH! You need new tires and alignment right away! $810.95. We had just purchased new tires 4 months ago, and they are still new with full tread. They claimed the oil filter housing was leaking, $781.27. This was changed last year and has a lifetime warranty. They claimed we needed a battery guard for $32, flush pack for $144.99, rear differential service for $121.99, front struts and rear shocks, another $1800. We drove the car the 400 miles and got a second opinion. Turns out Grismer was right about the rear differential, but the rest of it was false. How many people get screwed by Grismer? read more

Was quoted for 4 new tires at Grismer in Troy, When it came time to put on the new tires, they discovered the locking wheel lugs were frozen on. They spent couple of hours trying to get the locking nuts off. However, the problem needed the type of equipment found at a body repair shop. Took the vehicle down the street and after hours of working on it, the body shop man got the lug nuts off. Took the vehicle back to Grismer and they put on the new tires within a couple of hours. They worked with me and all of the time were patient and great to work with. Will of course go back there when other car issues come up. read more

This place is ok. They do offer free wifi, I guess that helps with the wait. I'm not sure if all shops are like this but they are always recommending repairs are needed to "sell" you more parts ands services. I'm always careful to get a second opinion unless I know a repair is needed. The are good for tires. When you buy 4 new tires they will give you a card for four free oil changes. You also get lifetime tire rotation. read more

I was quoted one price for the work I needed done. 5 months later after bs like somehow my number being changed in the system and several attempts to fix it. I was told sorry, but we have to add $1000 to that number. I had no choice as I was stuck on my motorcycle. When I got my truck home there was a lawnmower sized batter installed with cardboard stuffed all around it to hold it in place. Also, with only 500 miles since my last oil change, my truck was almost 3 quarts low. I'm guessing management didn't like me arguing about the price and decided to screw me over. I wouldn't recommend this place to an enemy let alone a friend or a stranger. Good luck if you decide to use these guys. Oh yeah the Jeff's deals thing is also bs, my truck has several issues that they didn't bother even checking out with that bs. Went in for an alignment, and once I picked up the car it was pulling to the right really bad. Took the vehicle back and they did fix the alignment issue. I understand stuff happens but it was an inconvenience. Then I happen to notice none of the tires were aired up to spec and were left at different pressures. To my knowledge doing an alignment means airing up tires as well....I mean if the shop wasn't so focused on selling more work and actually doing quality work first. I got a ton of work done on a 12 year old Infiniti. They did a great job. They even painted my brake calipers. They did charge a lot for that but most shops won't do non standard work. The managers are both on top of their game and are excellent communicators. They check the whole car over, tell you what's wrong, and recommend repairs. That's the way it should be. For the last 8 years I had been taking my car to Infiniti of Dayton and paying premium prices and was not getting the level of service I received from this location. read more

These guys absolutely rock - they're honest, straight forward and don't play games. As a woman walking into an automotive-type store, I've felt like a mouse in a snake pit ever since my Dad died. The other tire store saw me coming a mile away and ripped me off royal. The Grismer guys are really good to me, talk me out of things I don't need and give me good prices on things I do. Customer beware. Dropped off car for oil change, tire rotation and 72 point inspection. Marked tires to make sure tires were rotated. Picked up car and TIRES WERE NOT ROTATED. Even after the front end guy was asked and he verified that they were. Also on the 72 point inspection it stated the air pressure on all 4 tires was 32psi. Checked when I got home the tires were 27, 29, 35 and 35. All I am saying is they portray themselves as a local company but the dishonest service we received is far from how a LOCAL company should do business. read more

I schedule appointment at Grismer with Jeremy to put tires put on my trailer and an oil change for my truck. While there, I decided to have my tires changed on the truck. When I showed up Jim, District Manager, handled the work they did that day. After about four hours, approximately 9:00 to 1:00 p.m., he said the job was complete, and the truck and trailer was hooked up and all ready to go. Earlier in the day when I decided to get tires for the truck I asked them if they would put anti-seize compound on the rims to keep them from sticking on the rotor axles. Jim said they did not like to do that and if they were stuck on, like Fords are known to do, they use small and large sledge hammers to remove wheels. At approximately 1:00 p.m. when they handed me my keys, I asked the mechanic that did the work, how the oil and fuel filters looked so I could gauge my service intervals. And he said everything was fine. His last thing he said to me was that my rims were bent but he was able to balance them out. So, I asked him what would cause that. He said probably due to overloading/excessive weight of the truck. I have never overloaded the truck. The truck is new to me and the wheels have never been off the truck in the 23,000 miles I have owned it. On the way home, about 3 miles down State Route 725, the trailer came unhitched at 55 mph. In doing so, it damaged my truck and trailer. The cost to repair the trailer is $330.42. And the truck estimate is $726.68. I have not gotten estimates on new wheels at this time. The next day I drove it, I noticed that the steering wheel was shaking at different speeds which it has never done before, due to the bent rims. I drove to Spring Valley Body Shop and talked to the owner, Steve. I called Jim from the body shop. Jim said that they did not work on trailers and that they are a tire and lube shop. He said Grismer would not fix my truck and trailer and that his employees saw me kick the trailer tire and trailer. He said that technically I was the last one to touch the truck and trailer, so therefore, it was my fault that it came unhitched. He said he did not even know if his mechanics knew how to hook up a trailer. I offered to drive it up so he could see the damage that day. He said that was not necessary. So, now I have turned it over to my insurance agent. read more

0 Stars! Warning! CHECK THEIR WORK if you go there. They say the right things for you to trust them and take your money, but check it when they are done. They made a big deal about putting new tires on the back, but when we picked it up, despite the "master mechanic" doing the work, the tires were on the front. They told me a belt was "worn, cracked, and frayed" on the phone, yet when I inspected the old belt, it was in great shape and shouldn't have been replaced. They unnecessarily replaced radiator hoses and then didn't clamp them down. We drove to TX and kept smelling something - fluid was everywhere! We are lucky because it could've caused the whole engine to shut down! They also mixed 2 different types of antifreeze and we had to pay someone else to fix all their mistakes. They are incompetent and endangered my family's life. We paid them over $1500 and the only thing they did right was the oil change and the brakes (I think.) When I checked a previous oil change, the oil was brown and I had to take it back for a redo - they didn't even drain it! Just added new oil. We will NEVER be back and caution everyone to CHECK THEIR WORK. They are SHADY! read more
