Outstanding service and food to match. A must if you are in Beaver Creek!

My sister & I visited Grouse Mtn Grill based on the other Yelp reviews. It exceeded our expectations! The restaurant Mgr, Tony McNally, spoke with all the guests and was delightful. The food was pleasing to the eye, perfect portions, and an explosion of flavor. We highly recommend the lamb ribs as the first course. The staff was very attentive, but not overbearing. A pleasant surprise was when the chef came out to speak with us. The whole experience was stress free, delicious, and enjoyable. This is a MUST DO! When in Beaver Creek or Avon. YUMMY!!! Plus as the sun sets, guests get to watch Elk, Deer, & an occasional Bear on the adjacent mountain. SPECTACULAR!!! read more

The best meal and best dining experience I've had all year...by far. I had the crudo for appetizer, short rib for my main course, and the creme brûlée for desert. Grouse Mountain Grill has never failed me yet. I've been quite a few times over the years on my many family ski vacations and we always enjoy it! Terrific service and fantastic food -- the best we've had in a very long time! We had 5:30pm reservations because we knew we would be dead tired after a long day of skiing. We arrived around 5:00 because we wanted to sit at the bar and have a drink first. Their very friendly bartender made us three outstanding martinis -- he even adjusted mine to suit my taste for more sweetness. At 5:30, they came to the bar to fetch us and bring us to our table, which was right by the window near the bar. (Although the place was practically empty at that time, I feared that we would be seated somewhere in the back, but it was a great spot.) For our dinner entrees, we relied on the bartender's recommendations and ordered the steak, elk, and rack of lamb (all medium rare, as the chef recommends). All three were wonderful. The elk was a very pleasant surprise: not gamy at all, just a hearty flavor that was a nice contrast to the steak. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare -- not too rare as I often experience -- and it was as good as the best I've ever had. The wait staff were friendly, knowledgeable, readily available, and yet unobtrusive. At the end, the manager came up to us, shook our hands, and thanked us for coming. We've been to a lot of fine restaurants in Vail and Beaver Creek, but this one was the best -- and we will be back. read more

Incredible wine list. We started with the Brussels sprouts and tater tots. These were Brussels sprouts that even your anti-veggie kid would eat. Our friends ordered the rabbit wrapped in bacon alongside the roasted root vegetables. We took down the bison short rib and elk loin grilled. Bison was tender, lean, moist and delicious. The elk was grilled to a medium rare that was wonderfully tasty. It must have been grass fed elk as it was not overwhelmed with the sage flavor. Awesome experience. In a cool environment, all the people involved in the service, were more than polite. They were extremely kind and helpful in the menu description to select the appropriate meal. A must do!!! I can't rave enough about this restaurant. We have a one year old and was concerned about eating here being that it's a fine restaurant. Upon our arrival we were greeted by the wonderful hostess staff that made it a point to make my baby happy. They brought books for her to entertain herself. The service was amazing! Ate here this spring while in town for a fly fishing trip. Food was great. I had a perfectly cooked steak with a rich sauce and morel mushrooms. My friend had scallops with stuffed ravioli and carrots. My mushroom dumpling appetizer was incredible. Having been a regular patron of this restaurant for the last ten years, I was shocked to find that the entire management has recently changed. Tony McNally, the prior manager, who would always greet regulars with a warm handshake is gone. Bill Minett, my vote for the most knowledgeable sommelier in the Vail valley is gone. Tony Gulizia, the renowned jazz pianist was not playing. All of the wait staff, many of whom have worked at this establishment for many years, are gone. Unfortunately, the renowned service that all of these individuals delivered is now gone. While the chief remains the same, the food fell flat. The "warm lobster mascarpone" was not warm. The great sauces that used to accompany the food have also changed, in my opinion, not for the better. This is not the same restaurant that won great accolades over the past many years. For those of us that have experienced this restaurant at its best, this is incredibly disappointing. read more

My husband and I dined at Grouse Mountain Grill this evening, but unfortunately our experience was ruined from the moment we got there by the hostess Sam. We were on time for our 8pm reservation when Sam told us our table for two wasn't ready yet and that we should take a seat. Under normal circumstances that would be fine, but we had just gotten off the shuttle with a number of couples and Sam proceeded to seat 3 couples of 2 who checked in after us while we sat and waited for the alleged table to be ready. As a person of color watching as Sam sat 3 tables of patrons who were not minorities it was clear to me why I was being asked to wait with my husband. To add insult to injury, Sam then sat us at a table near the waiters' water station. At that point, my husband went back to Sam to ask for a different table. Sam claimed that we would need to wait an additional 10 minutes. However, she miraculously was able to find a table in their main dining room. This is the shoulder season and the restaurant was not full and there were a number of available tables when Sam took us in to the main dining room. This was clearly just another fabrication by Sam. My husband ordered the Steelhead and was very excited to have it, but unfortunately it was over cooked and dry. Additionally, we tried to talk to Sam after dinner to explain our frustration, but she wasn't receptive to our comments and explained that she was the only person working the hostess stand so essentially what could we expect. Sam's display of microaggresions and explicit bias were clear to me. Unfortunately, Sam's behavior ruined my evening. read more

Truly enjoyed this gem! Gorgeous views, super friendly wait staff that seemed like they were actually enjoying their jobs, made it very fun. Even the hostess was very warm and accommodating. Sat at the bar for dinner which was comfortable and charming. Really liked the piano man, he came over several times to politely ask if we had a request, very classy atmosphere, felt like a quaint but elegant private alpine supper club. Everything was very good, excellent bread service, so creative with different flavored butters. Squash blossom app was delightful. Halibut was perfect, highly recommend that. I don't recommend the streak, it was flavorless which was very strange. All in all, however, this place is just outstanding in so many ways. Hope to return during ski season. We watched the talented bartender pour amazing looking cocktails that looked inspired by Mad Men, just gorgeous. Make reservations, they get booked early and attract people staying outside of the Pine Lodge Resort which to me says everything. Have visited Beaver Creek for many years but never tried Grouse Mountain Grill. Well, that has changed, we will be eating there on a regular basis. Wow! Grouse exceeded our expectations. The restaurant was so cozy and inviting. The live performer was incredible and made the evening. The bread service was well done and hit the spot at 930 because we were starving. We started with the squash soup which delicious and special with the arancini but heavy on the herbed chèvre. The cavatelli was made with fresh pasta (very aldente) and was so good with the ham hoc. The green salad was a nice fresh starter as well. The evening was made by the short rib. We've had many short ribs from top restaurants but this was the best we've ever had. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, and quality of beef which was local and grass fed. read more

We hosted a party at the Grouse Mountain Grill. All planning was done long distance since this was the rehearsal dinner for a destination wedding. I estimated that 35 people would be at the party, in reality 48 people attended. The extra guests were accomodated without any problems. Nancy and her staff were gracious and amazingly attentative! My husband and I had our wedding reception dinner at Grouse Mountain Grill. I have no complaints. The food, beverages, wine, service, entertainment, and scenery were excellent. The staff was attentive to our every need from the moment we began planning our event and the menu. The service is five stars....every time I would leave my chair to greet guests the finest little details were attended to, such as the folding of my napkin to keep the table orderly. I am so pleased with our decision to host an event at Grouse. The recommendation to have Tony G. as our musical entertainment was perfect. The chef and kitchen staff does fabulous work, the pretzel crusted pork chops lived up to their reputation for being delicious and creative, and I only heard compliments on the menu items my guests had chosen. During our three course meal, everything from the bread and butter to the selection of wines (which their staff member Bill helped us select), right down to the chocolate cake in a crepe was a big success! A large number of our guests were children under the age of 6 and they even had an area to kick back and play some games. When the event concluded the staff members pitched in to help us pack up the centerpieces and odds and ends, see us on our way, and Nancy (our event coordinator) even sent us a thank you for the opportunity to serve our family and friends. Thank you Grouse Mountain Grill for making our special day everything we had hoped it would be and your excellent customer service. We would certainly work with Nancy and her staff again, given another special occasion to plan! My husband and I plan to celebrate with an anniversary dinner there annually and we will be anxious for the next opportunity to get out to Beaver Creek to enjoy an excellent meal there. Ate here 3/15 and the food was excellent. Only reason not 5 stars is the environment is a little sterile. The lobster marscopone, pork chop, ny strip, scallops, and short rib lettuce wraps were great. Also the portions are sizable. The oysters were great, but served a little warm. We were lucky to come here when they were having a $39 tasting menu. This allowed us to try very generous portions of an appetizer, main course and dessert. All the food was delicious to the point where I wanted to lick my plate. We tried many dishes off the menu and every bite was perfect! Additionally, the view from the dining room is stunning. My husband took me here on our first date and we go back every year for our anniversary. I'm never disappointed. It has the perfect atmosphere to relax, unwind, and enjoy a romantic evening with someone you care about. The staff is so friendly. Our meal is always good. Last time we went they changed the pretzel crusted pork chop to a thicker cut which I didn't like as much. But everything is still delicious and very well done. Although The Pines Lodge leaves much to be desired, this restaurant is a true jewel and offers a delightful experience to anyone. Not wanting to dine in the hotel with so many other options around, we first chose other establishments for our first nights. Now we wish we had dined here every night! The staff is incredibly friendly, helpful and outgoing, especially the maitre'd (forgot to get his name) and Carlos behind the bar. Very attentive and outgoing, but that is only the beginning of the wonderful experience. The ambience is very modern and upscale, yet not stuffy, but next to the wonderful staff is the amazing cuisine! The food is of a very high quality and absolutely delightful to the eyes as well as the palate. We're kicking ourselves for not coming here right away and spending every evening here. Rest assured, while we may stay at a different hotel while in the area, we will definitely be making this our first choice in dining while in the mountains! Definitely seek it out! read more

My wife and I last visited the Grouse Mountain Grill a couple of years ago, and couldn't wait to get back. They did not disappoint!!! They had a prix fixe Spring Tasting Menu with any appetizer, entree and dessert on the menu. I highly recommend the cavatelli (squid ink, chorizo, chiles, crab) - it sounds a bit daring, but was superb. The lobster appetizer was a very close 2nd! Our entrees were the beef tenderloin (my wife loved the potato pave') and the bison short ribs (brined and braised for for 24 hours!). Desserts were wonderful - flourless chocolate cake (you could taste the fresh mint in the mint ice cream!),and the rhubarb (crustless cheesecake, rhubarb sauce, rhubarb bar, candied ginger). My favorite restaurant in Beaver Creek and the Vail area. My friend and I try a different restaurant every evening. Last night we went to Grouse Mountain Grill and our dinner was delicious. The waiter recommended that we try the brussel sprouts (what?), and I'm glad we did. They were the best we ever tasted with bacon and maple syrup. I wanted more. Then I had the seared salmon layered over cauliflower puree, and lentils. It was so good I groaned. We sat next to a roaring fire and the service was top notch. I'm coming back next year unless I can talk my friend into going again this week! read more
