This place is not horrible, but it's also not the best sandwich spot in Bakersfield. I want to like this place because the staff has always been so nice, but I just don't go for the sandwiches. The sandwich shop is located in a nice centralized location in Bakersfield. They have a good variety on their menu. My favorite on their menu has to be the chicken poblano soup. If you plan to dine in there's plenty of room for a big party or for just one. It's nice in clean inside. Parking is never an issue because they have a huge parking where they share with all the neighboring establishments. I don't see myself coming back and going out of my way to eat here unless I was meeting up w friends or family that wanted to come here. I've been wanting to try this place for a while now, and decided to come here since it's right behind my work. I asked for recommendations and the lady taking our order suggested the Grilled Chicken Pesto. I was also craving a soup, so I decided on the Tomato Bisque. The wait was a little over 15 minutes (a little long for a sandwich), but it was not too busy inside for lunch hour. It was actually pretty quiet. When we finally received our order, the presentation was nice. Bit into my sandwich and I was sold! It was so good and moist! Not your standard dry Subway sandwich. We came in early in a Sunday, the atmosphere was quiet and clean. Nice having one closer to our house with less of a homeless problem in the immediate area. I tried the summer special, Chipotle Crunch Chicken. It was very good, the different textures from the moist soft chicken, the toasted bread and the tortilla strips. The veggies were fresh and blended perfectly with the chipotle sauce. They do offer a gluten free bread for people who have allergies or Celiac disease however, it lacks in quality. I won't be going in and ordering from this location on Gosford and Harris Rd anytime soon again. I went in there on a Monday around 11:35am and there was no customers inside. There was no customer service and looks like there is no organization either. There was a young girl working and an older woman not really doing anything. Finally placed my order a turkey 6" sandwich nothing fancy or add-ons just the sandwich at 11:40am and got my order until 12:03pm. The older woman looked like the manager or someone in charge and no customer service to any of the customers that were arriving and they were starting to all looking pretty upset too just like me. We went in and ordered then visited crumbl next door and then went back in to sit down and wait some more. The guy told us it would be 15 minutes. My wife ordered the cranberry turkey and I ordered the BBQ beef brisket. First and foremost, the bread is the best part of the sandwich. That is not a negative comment on the sandwich as a whole. The bread is freshly and perfectly toasted, and has a really good flavor. Both sandwiches were really good. My bbq beef brisket had a bed of coleslaw in it that gave it a nice balance of flavors, and bbq sauce is good and not overpowering. The cranberry turkey was also very good with flavorful turkey and tasty cranberry. Our only feedback for improvement would be to put a little more meat in the sandwiches.
