A few months ago I visited this place because of my craving for Bahn Mi sandwiches. I ordered their grilled pork Bahn Mi lunch special that came with chips and a fruit tea--which was Mango flavor. The lady helping me I believe was the owner, and she was so nice! During my time there she asked how I was doing with my meal and I complemented how tasty and delicious it was. She later expressed how their Special Bahn Mi is popular and that ham, pate and carrot, daikon veggie mix and I bought one just to try and I'm glad I did! I love Vietnamese food! The first time I tried this place it was good. I'm yet to try other items from their menu, but I had their banh mi and it was delicious. This is located at the Food Maxx shopping area on White Lane. When you first walk in they have a snack shelf with Asian goodies and a display shelf with desserts. The inside is clean, it's pretty plain inside, but they have a few tables if you want to dine in. Service was very fast and the employees are nice. If you have never tried Vietnamese food, then you need to check this place out. The place is not hard to find and parking is never an issue since they share the parking lot with Food Maxx. read more

Fast and cheap lunch spot with classic banh mi Vietnamese sandwiches! We did the lunch special to go and did the house banh mi sandwiches which included pate, carrots, cucumber, jalapeño, and some sauce on the French baguette. It also came with some frito lay brand chips and a drink either a fruit tea or coffee. I got the strawberry fruit tea and kumquat fruit tea and added boba to both for an extra 60 cents each. I also grabbed a Japanese style cheese cake that they had in to go packages. Service was friendly and relatively fast, I waited about 10 mins total. Inside they had small tables and chairs to sit and eat inside. They had Asian convenience store goodies and drinks also to grab. Definitely a quick service lunch vibe! I felt like this was the classic Banh mi experience you would get at a corner shop or street vendor in Vietnam. It was also priced really well to get you coming back every day for lunch! Visiting my family in Bakersfield has been very fun considering all the new places to eat popping up. Salt and Sweet Spot was our choice before heading back down to LA. Very happy to have tried the banh mi here as my bro and I were craving it on a hot summer bako day. They've only been open for 6 months, the place is clean and tidy inside, enough tables for a grab and go lunch, a section of Asian snacks and a glorious selection of Japanese pastries STRAIGHT FROM JAPAN (every Monday!) in the fridge section. The second we walked in we were greeted by Fiona who is by far the sweetest woman on the planet - she is so nice, so friendly, and so great to talk to - you can tell she loves getting to know her customers. She even let us sample the Japanese steamed cheesecake after we already bought some. Generous soul indeed! I told her I am vegan, and she made a special banh mi with tofu, which is not on the menu. Heart burst with appreciation! And it was GOOD! I made it into a combo and that came with chips and a Vietnamese coffee, and ordered 2 grilled pork banh mis. Unfortunately, I don't see this place staying in business for longer than a year. There's nothing authentic about these sandwiches, I think they're trying to cater to the non-Asian people because they don't use pickled veggies and the meat is not good and very basic. I paid an extra $1.50 for extra extra pate only to get home and see the lightest spread of pate. Almost non existent. And that's the 3rd time it happened. I just assumed it was a mistake the first time. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone who's tried a REAL banh mi. I guess I'll have to keep making the drive to Los Angeles read more
