Rice and Frijole - nope
Jeff D.

This place was recommended by Diane at Lifetime Fitness as I'm always up for trying Mexican places especially in the North Shore. I have to support el gente! Unfortunately they didn't support me. My son and I came here for lunch and we were really greeted as the bartender served as the host and a few other employees were doing stuff around the restaurant. We were seated and my son was hungry so I ordered his food right away which was Quesadillas con Queso. They came out quick but it would've been helpful to let me know the rice was a little spicy. If you need a high chair for someone at the table, you should probably let them know about the spice in the rice. Other than that, he ate the food. I asked for milk as well. I ordered the Carne Asada (yes a heavy my lunch order) but obvs I was hungry. It was very good and had some sort of marinade but couldn't figure out what it was. The rice and beans were bad as the rice didn't taste fresh and the beans were blah. Also I had to ask for more corn tortillas since I only got 3. The service was ok and I was never asked what I wanted to drink. My biggest beef was when other patrons (all Caucasian) walked into the restaurant, they were greeted immediately and made a hell of a lot more welcome than us. It was weird to hear how over accommodating that same person who was on his computer when we walked in, jumped off his seats for the other patrons walking in. The nicest person by far was a women who brought me more tortillas and actually engaged with my son. No need to come back here but cmon gente, get it together when fellow gente walk in.

Have been going to Guanajuatos my whole life - always have a great time when there :) it is a small place that has a cozy atmosphere and friendly waiter. Margarita: 3.5/5 could have been stronger. I am vegan and got the fajitas with extra veggies instead of chicken: 4.5/5 really yummy :) just wish they had more vegan options! My sister and mom liked their dishes but weren't obsessed. A free delicious flan and birthday song for my little sisterOverall I recommend coming here :)

Outside on their new patio location!! Perfect Margarita!

Wow what a fall from Grace. Been here 50 plus times and kinda avoided it for a year bcoz their prices got outta control along with their quality. Decided to come here for lunch just to give it one last chance and man has this place gone way way down hill. The bartender made the worst skinny margarita. It was weak and way too tart and they used to put a dried round lime garnish on top but this time it came with a cheaper lime slice. The queso fundido was dry AF I mean how can cheese be dry?? The burrito was tepid with some cheese on top. How does a freshly made burrito come out tepid?? Answer: it wasn't freshly made perhaps sitting ready for just cheese to be added and placed under the broiler. I ordered the torta Milanese which is a breaded chicken sandwich. It was ok but I couldn't eat it, it was so dried out. I'm afraid to say this place is a DNR- do not return!

Update, his name is Jovanny Diaz and is the restaurants "chef de cuisine"

I wish there was a way to write a review without stars. I am a delivery driver (such as grub hub, door dash, postmates..etc) I arrived at this location a few minutes after receiving the pick up request on my phone. When I arrived to the restaurant, the gentleman (Brian, is what I'm told his name is) asked me how he could help me and I kindly gave him the name of the pick up order. He explained that the order was not yet ready and to have a seat on the benches near by. After about 20 min, the host checked in with me to ask me the name on my order again, and told me they were working on it. (mind you, the order was 1 dish. that's all) 10 min later, annoyed, I asked the host if there was any update on the order and she said she would check in the back. She came back after a few minutes and said that my order was being packed up and it would be a few more minutes. Another 10 minutes went by another employee asked me for the name on my order. Annoyed, I gave him the name and he told me he would go and check. I saw him walk to the kitchen, walk out, to never return to give me an update on my order. At this point I stood up and walked over near the host stand quite pissed off and asked again for the status of my order. The host apologized and said it would be out shortly. Another 10 minutes went by. I was fuming at this point. Brian, the guy at the beginning of this nightmare of a story, approached me and said "Gordas, name on the order?" I stood in shock. For those of you who don't know, "Gordas" translates to fat, fatty, chubby, fatso, plump, porky...etc Once again, I gave the name of my order. I watched him walk to the kitchen, walk out, and then walk to another table and start laughing with the guests. Im not sure what gave him the thought that he could call me this. Did he think my blue eyes meant I couldn't understand Spanish. Did he think that this was the appropriate way to address me... especially while waiting there for over 50 min waiting for an order that should have been ready by the time I walked in. Just as I was able to say something, the host walked over with my order. I grabbed it out of her hands and walked out.... I have never, in my entire life ever had an experience like this. This was the most unprofessional and disgusting action I've ever seen displayed in my life. You should be ashamed of yourself, and frankly...FIRED!

Beautiful outdoor patio, very nice live music, very good margaritas. Small guac but delicious. Loved the tacos and enchiladas. Wish the shrimp was a bit bigger but was good. Loved the habanero and chips and salsa. Friendly staff

Heard it was a good place, but didn't get to experience it. Sat for 15 minutes waiting for service, many people walked by, and nothing.

Horrible service!! Sat down when they opened at 11 am. 15 minutes later I walked out because no one served me. I asked for a waiter.

I made a special request during the reservation, which usually gets overlooked, so I was genuinely pleasantly surprised when they made it happen. My mother-in-law absolutely didn't expect it, and it made her feel really special. Patch greeted us warmly (I hope I got the name right!) and took great care of us throughout the evening, making sure we had everything we needed. He even personally acknowledged my mother-in-law's birthday, which was such a thoughtful touch. She was so happily surprised! The Hugo Spritz cocktails were refreshing and delicious. I ordered the scallops both as an appetizer and as my main course, and I truly enjoyed them. The strawberry chocolate cake we shared was absolutely delicious -- it practically melted in my mouth! I will definitely come back just to have it again Next time, I also want to try the burgers. The place itself is very welcoming and has this really nice coastal summer vibe. Nice ambiance that's casual enough to feel comfortable bringing my kids, but upscale enough for the evening to feel like a nice night out. Loved the appies - we got the cauliflower hummus and deviled eggs - highly recommend both. As for entrees, chicken sandwich was perfectly fried crispy with not too much breading, on a biscuit. Fries were just ok. They were unfortunately out of the schnitzel I wanted to try so I had the halibut special instead. The fish was perfectly cooked, but the composition of the fish was rather confusing - the lobster bisque-like sauce was fantastic on its own, but overpowered the delicate halibut. The crispy yuca strips went perfectly with the fish, but the dish was finished off with lots of shishito peppers - again, way too overpowering. I would have preferred a much subtler vegetable. Kids Mac and cheese was fantastic, with a hint of what I think was thyme. The drink list was heavily spirit -forward. I ended up getting a sangria which was good, but my husband thought the old fashioned was terrible. The balance of spirit vs bitters was completely off, plus it was served over tiny ice instead of a large cube. To top it all off, the cherry was muddled.
