Decent Mexican place. Nothing special, but pretty good food.

After waiting in line for about 30 minutes to get in, anyone who was a friend of a waiter was allowed to skip the line and get a table immediately. When we were finally seated we only saw our waiter once and that was when he took our order. When the food came out, it was cold and we were missing some of it and we received items that were not what we ordered probably someone else's food. We were unable to get this resolved as the waiters completely ignore you. So we ate cold food as by this time we were too hungry to not eat. The cleaning guy came and took some plates and about 30 minutes later came back by and was wondering why we were still there. We told him we were still waiting on the bill. About 20 minutes after that our original waiter came by only to say our bill was coming. When the cleaning guy brought the bill of course it was wrong because I'm not paying for food I didn't get. Around this time I overheard two other tables complaining that their food was cold and they were also being charged for food they didn't get. I heard the waiter apologize and stated he was super busy. This is unacceptable for any restaurant and this was the absolute worst experience at any restaurant I have ever had. Do not ignore this warning and avoid this restaurant at all cost. read more

Great margaritas. Got #11 beef burrito, beef taco, refried beans and Mexican rice. Love the flavor of the beef. Salsa is very good. My favorite Mexican restaurant. Oh and good cold beer. read more

Typical run of the mill Mexican joint. It was good, not great. I had the beef enchiladas and taco on the combo dinner menu. It was a Friday night and was pretty busy. Service was good. If you're craving Mexican, give it a go as I believe it is the only Mexican restaurant in Maggie Valley. read more

A local favorite for me and my family for about 12 years, great service and consistently good food. Yiu just have to try the tacos and salsa and fajitas and enchiladas and... You get the point, the food is simply amazing. read more

Classic Mexican American restaurant experience. Big portions, quick service, good value.

Food was mediocre at best. Hardly any taste but edible. I would not go back. Staff was good, place seemed clean.

Ate here a couple of times... it's okay. Nothing out of the way amazing or worth the money they charge. Order fajitas for 14$ you mostly get just peppers only a slight bit of meat not worth it at all. I now on cook from home my own fajitas which are SO much better than here. I do love there salsa though and chips, so I get that for our dinner ad on, when going into to order that though it takes forever for someone to come up to me and take my order even when they are slow like they try to ignore you then some older Mexican always makes a smart ass comment to why I'm making him get me chips and salsa " Wow you think you need this much, or Looks me up and down how many are YOU feeding? " RUDE! I have a whole family to feed, 12$ for chips and Salsa over priced... but it is good salsa. read more

We drove from Cherokee so we could get a Margarita, food and drinks were amazing. We were seated quickly and the service was perfect. Definitely a great place to eat, we will be back. read more

I love this place! Very good American Mexican food. Great portions and price. Some times they are a little under staffed for how busy they get. But that's understandable in Maggie valley, let's be honest. They are very kid friendly as well which is great. We go at least twice a month read more

This place looked sketchy, but we decided to try it anyway. Salsa was bland, tasted like it came from a can. Although the prices were good and the service was ok, the food was terrible. If you want pretty good Mexican food, do yourself a favor and drive over to Los Amigos in Waynesville. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Terrible customer service. Very rude and condescending staff. Every single person was rude. The guy with a pony tail tried to literally fight my son because he forgot his mask in the car. The curly haired lady at the front told my husband that if he didn't like his meal or if his beer wasn't cold, he wasn't allowed to return it or change it for something else. Our waiter all he did was shove politics down our throats while we were trying to enjoy our disgusting food. He literally wouldn't stop talking about politics and wouldn't leave our table side. We hoped the food would make things better. The food was disgusting. The shrimp was not fresh and had a foul smell to it. Terrible restaurant, service, food. There are amazing places to eat in Maggie Valley where you will be treated with kindness. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. MORE IMPORTANTLY, do not give your money to these people. I usually never make posts about this but I'm mad. My mom and I went to Guayabitos in Maggie Valley and it was the worst experience. They started by asking my mother to move as soon as she got in there saying she was in the way. They then proceeded to mess up our order and we figure it out once we get in the car. My mom goes back in to ask for something small on the side to fix it and instead of helping they proceed to YELL AT HER. Saying that she didn't order it right and it's her fault that she doesn't know how to order her food??? We asked for the burrito without sauce. He continued to fight with my mother over what she ordered. My mom decides it's not worth it as he is SCREAMING at her in front of the ENTIRE restaurant. He REFUSES to give her the food back so she can't even leave to get out of the situation. I will NEVER be going back there. I worked in the food industry for years and that is NOT how you treat someone. How about common decency?? read more

Our experience at Guayabitos was unbelievable. The service was great and we all heartily enjoyed our meals. It was a very good Mexican restaurant. However, those aren't very hard to come by. The incredible thing that makes Guayabitos special is that when I forgot my purse, the manager DROVE TO MEET US. He pulled up beside us, honked his horn, and lifted my purse up in the window to show us what I had forgotten. We quickly pulled into a parking lot and he gave me my purse back. We exchanged a few kind words and then he went back. So, definitely go to Guayabitos, if not for the great food, but to support the wonderful people who run it. read more

My boyfriend and I always come here when we are in the mood for Mexican food (which is quite often). It's always delicious, the service is wonderful, and you can tell they all work very hard. I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

Carnitas were dry drinks were watered down and the poblanos were disgusting. Worst mexican fare we've had and not authentic at all. The only things that were decent were the chips, they were fresh and the soft tacos my kids had. Won't go there again. read more

My wife and I moved into the Maggie Valley area about a year ago and were excited to try this Mexican restaurant as Mexican is one of our absolute favorite types of food. Every time we've visited in person or called in an order, the service times were above-average. The food, however, while mostly flavorful doesn't distinguish itself all that much from any other Mexican restaurant. While it is enjoyable for the occasional need to satisfy our Mexican food hungers, the heavy use of lard in their cooking of chips and tortillas sometimes overpowers the rest of the ingredients. read more

My children and I stop in here about once each month and always have a great experience. The staff actually remembers our orders and asks if we want our usual. We love that. The Margarita isn't bad at all either. read more

Visited here a few months ago during a weekend trip to Lake J. Really good food and the service was friendly, however our server disappeared for quite some time on several occasions. We arrived late afternoon and they were not that busy quite yet, but we still could not get him back to the table to refill drinks in a timely manner. The margaritas we had were very good. Big portions on the entrees as well, so the prices are a good value to me. Again, really good, but having to literally chase down your server to get your check after waiting for 30 minutes after eating is not good service. Hoping to visit again and have a little better service experience, but I'd definitely go back. read more

Food was awful. I order a fish taco and to taco was soggy, wet! When I approach management about the wet soggy soft taco, they responded that is how they are made. The management was unreasonable and rude I do not recommend this restraurant Poor food and service read more

Ate here with a group of 7 on a motorcycle vacation. Service started out well, but hit a glitch when we ordered a burrito to go for one of our group that had headed back to the cabin early. That order took forever to materialize, but the in-house service was fine. I had pork enchiladas which were very tasty, and the side of beans were black instead of the usual refried plop. Our table had everything from taco salads to the biggest burrito on the menu, and everyone said their meal was good. Would definitely eat here again! read more

Very very unhappy with the treatment that my family recived today.. we had just finished ordering from a overpriced menu for the quality of food ...my 18mo old daughter was playing with a menu & a very rude waiter snatched it from her hands & said "es no for play" which made her scream which was totally uncalled for the menus are laminated 1st of all so she wasnt going to hurt it.. well recived our food & it was ehhh so we ordered dessert once again my daughter was looking at the menu & a second time he yanks it from my 18 mo old daughters hands & said "es mine es no for play" & made her scream once again he turns & looks at my daughter & shakes his head. Some other people that was eating was looking at the scene & i told her he "the waiter" took her menu & the woman said oh no do you want me to get her another one & i proceeded to tell her that the waiter said she couldn't have one .. she was appalled also ..the desserts came we left them sitting on the table i paid almost $40 for 2 adult meals.. I will not go back to this establishment ever again.. the entire situation was uncalled for & very unprofessional. read more
