Walking by this store always seemed intimidating. I've stayed away during all my trips to South Coast. However, I recently found out they were having a sale and stopped in to check it out. What a terrible experience I just had at the Gucci store in South Coast Plaza while trying to return a wallet I purchased. The Gucci wallet was for my girlfriend's birthday last month. Unfortunately for me that was the night she decided things weren't working out between us, so yep I got dumped and left with a $600 female wallet. I work 70 hours a week in the car business and rarely have time for shopping, even more so returning. I was surprised walking in that they hadn't even saved any of my information from the purchase. Now thinking about it I've purchased several items there, and I've never have they asked to set up an account for me. I'm assuming they don't want you to trace anything back to the store for returns. The wallet was barely over the 14 day return policy or so Jacqueline the manager tells me. I did have the receipt and bag, but did not have the original packaging because I had displayed the wallet in a basket of several nice presents for my now ex-girlfriend. I even showed Jacqueline a picture a where I purchased the wallet on my American Express card but her and her little band of Gucci thieves were just not having any of it. I explain to Jacqueline the head Gucci mistress I'd be happy to spend more money and trade in the female wallet for a nice belt or possibly a pullover but she just laughed at me and shook her head knowing I'm burnt. This is why I like shopping at places like Nordstrom's. That will take anything back within a year without any hassle. I like Gucci. The store is one from which I'd like to buy my Mom a gift, or my brother, or my brother-in-law, or my sister-in-law, or...Well, there's not an unlimited amount of money. There is magical thinking, and if one is going to dream, why not a Gucci dream? My husband cares more for other gifts and has no need or desire for these goods, he wants other ones, so he enjoys being greeted by cheery employees and buys nothing for himself. Since he makes more than I do (yes, this is still the situation in America: most men make more than women), he is the one buying the gift for me. In this particular instance, he bought a light pink leather wallet and was very pleased with the service, and the goods. They treated him nicely. After all, he came there with a big smile on his face, anticipating goodies that I would like. A potential customer walking in with a big smile? That's got to make a salesperson delightfully hopeful. His positive anticipation was spot on and he knows my taste well. I like my Michael Kors wallet bought as a birthday gift, I like the Kate Spade wallet my Sister in Law gave me as a Christmas gift, I like the LeSportSac I bought for myself, but this wallet...truly pretty, deluxe, and luxurious. The boxing, dustbag, and bag were also beautiful. So yes, I really like how my husband had a good story to tell about how he was treated well by the salespeople and I loved the wallet. By far the best Gucci store that I have ever gone to. The staff is always professionally dressed and ready to help. Their store is very organized and clean. I came into the store about a week ago looking for a shoe in a 7 1/2 but unfortunately they were sold out. I had the pleasure to get help from Gary. Gary made sure to let me know that he can get me that shoe and ordered it. A week later the shoe arrives at the store. Now I am at home happy and enjoying my new shoes. I am very unsatisfied with Gucci's customer service. I had purchased a wallet as a gift for my partner and we dropped this off in-stores to get his initials embossed. After a few weeks, I received an email notification letting me know that it is ready for pick up but I was unable to come by the store and opted for them to ship it directly to me. I sent a follow up email requesting confirmation that the item has been shipped along with the tracking number. After no response back via email, I tried calling twice this week and both times I was told to expect to hear back from the Costa Mesa location/manager within 24 hours or end of day. Both of which did NOT happen. I ended up having to take time out of my day to commute from San Diego to speak with the manager directly about this. If it wasn't an inconvenience enough, I was kept waiting for about 10 minutes before I was helped by any associates/manager and the store was not that busy. Ironically, we found out Fedex tried to make a delivery attempt today which was missed. I honestly feel like this could have been prevented if I had the tracking number to begin with, this way I knew to be on the lookout. I am quite disappointed on how things were handled. There was just a lack of communication on important shipping information. ESPECIALLY with it being a luxury brand, I expected better service. Hello everyone! I want to tell my experience with Gucci. For a year I have been watching the Gucci small Marmont flap bag. Seeing this, my beautiful husband decided to give me this bag for the birthday of my eldest son (he is 10 years old) I live 3 miles from the Gucci store and always buy everything I need there, I want to notice ALWAYS THIS IS A GREAT EXPERIENCE! And so back to the bag! I was about to go to the Gucci store for my long-awaited charm, when I saw on the Gucci website a wonderful gift with any purchase and this is a cotton shopping bag that is attached to ANY purchase except for ties. I loved this extra bag! Very convenient for the beach in my opinion. So I decided to buy a bag on the Gucci website. Once again, I will note that I live 3 miles from the Gucci store. And only one reason to order from the site is a cotton shopping bag! I made a purchase on Monday 04/05/2021, I received it on Friday 04/09/2021 AND IT WAS POSITIVE TO Tears. I have a video of me opening the box (I really really wanted this bag) Then I took pictures. The shipping box contained one sad magnetic little green box and an envelope with a returnable sticker. There were no protective air bags (Even my stuff from Amazon comes with air bags!) No COTTON BAG !!! It looked so poor !!! To be honest, it was a SHOCK for $ 2400! I love so much everything from Gucci ! But my love at that moment gave a huge crack. I looked at the green small magnetic box and could not understand WHAT IS IT? I recently bought another Gucci belt and it is in exactly the same size green magnetic box! I thought maybe this is a mistake and this is not my bag? But no, it was the bag I ordered! Placed In the old version white "dust bag" and the bag was just pushed into a box that was too small for the bag! The bag itself was unprotected, only a little protection remained on the chain and there was paper inside. I'm 100% sure that this was a returned bag, which they did not bother to bring back to its original shape and look. They just threw the bag into the old version white dust bag, then shoved it into the box from the belt and threw it into the shipping box with an envelope on top. And this is what I wanted YEAR for $ 2400 ???? !!!!!! I hope you understand how heartbroken was I that moment! With shaking hands, I started calling the Gucci customer service. I've explained the situation to Cindy and she confirmed that it was not normal and also asked if there were any cotton shopping bags in stock. Yes! They just decided not to add it to my order! Cindy was very sweet and helped as much as she could. Here's the confirmation I received with her signature "Gucci works on your behalf to resolve your claim and will make every effort to provide a resolution as promptly as possible. Warehouse claims can take 3-7 business days from the day we receive your request. " But after the conversation, as you understand, I was confused and waiting for the consideration of a new packaging for a bag and a cotton bag. No time to waste, because my $2400 was spent fo the thing I didn't want to have any longer, I decided to take it all and go to my Gucci store, I wanted to solve the problem now! I even realized that if they couldn't help me in the Gucci store, I would just give it back in the store (return it). I didn't need this particular bag anymore. And so I with two children 10 and 2 years old and the shipping box went to the Costa Mesa Gucci store. At the entrance to the store, Amanda came to my aid, from that moment on I believed in Gucci again! Amanda is incredible! After listening to me, she immediately took it all and took out the bag that she opened in front of my eyes from the sealed bag, inside there was a bag with full protection and a new version of the dust bag. Then everything was packed very nicely for me in a LARGE BOX! Packed in nice paper. By the way, the new version of the packaging is just amazing. I like the old version too, but this new version is just a new level. And I left the store in a completely different mood! THANKS AGAIN Amanda! It was very easy and pleasant dealing with you! now I am just waiting for the DECISION of my cotton bag that I still want to receive. Amanda helped me not to be disappointed in Gucci, but the online store has not considered my request, so I'm still waiting and frustrated by the online Gucci store. When the issue with the cotton bag is resolved, I will definitely update this review and let you know how everything ended up. 5 stars are set exclusively for Amanda! After a bad experience at Louis Vuitton, I thought I can get a fresh start here at Gucci.... but NOOO I experienced some of the same treatment as I did at Louis Vuitton. Entering the store, two female workers in the front were just talking but just eyed me up and down as if they were trying to see if I was good enough to enter the store. These two women did not even greet me when I went through the store door... I stood at the door and stared back at them until I got a hello... I SHOULD NOT EVEN BE DOING THAT!!! When I decided to look around the store, I received a late hello from someone else which sounded very forced as if they didn't want to say hello to me. I was then followed around by one lady in the shoe section. I then left because I do not deserve to be treated like this! Who cares what skin color a person is or what a person looks like. Got my Gucci pillows from here. I ordered my Herbarium emerald green dinner wear plates too. Love eating off of these plates they stand out so well especially with black flatware utensils. The plates have a whimsical Toile de Jouy design of cherry branches, leaves, flowers, and butterflies. They look like a pixelated vintage fabric. Also got a Gucci bra with matching tights. The customer service at this location was atrocious. When I walked in the door I was not greeted. I had to make an exchange and at least three different sales people just walked right past me. I got in line at the check out counter and when I approached the employee, although the person in front of my had just left, she told me she was with a customer and to get in line. Thankfully the people behind me let her know I was already waiting in line. If I could give Gucci 0 stars I would, here's why. I received a leather belt with pearl & metal buckle for Christmas, 12/25/2019. I wore the belt once, to a small industry dinner where nothing happened to damage the belt. I loved this belt and was looking forward to wearing it again at New Year and noticed it was missing a pearl, making it look like a cheap imitation of the $750 belt it actually is. With receipt in hand, I went to Costa Mesa, South Coast Plaza store expecting they would exchange the faulty belt for a new one. After waiting a half hour for a sales person who would deal with a repair 'sniff' I was advised they had none in my size so they'd repair the belt within 2 weeks. I wasn't happy with their solution but gave it up for repair on January 4th. As of January 28th, the store has no idea when the belt will be back from repair. This is disappointing and unacceptable standard of service particularly since they do have my size belt in many other stores. Never again will Gucci be getting my business, their products are shoddy and their repair service is a bad joke. read more

Worst customer service ever. Apparently you have to walk in wearing designer all over or something to be helped or else all they do is walk past you like nothing. My partners family and I have been coming for a while now and spend a fair amount of money but aren't the type to want to flaunt it around like others. My partner went in today to get a jewelry present and was ignored multiple times, helped once and then the person disappeared to the back and never came back and when she asked for help from someone else the Asian lady was very rude and didn't want to help. This hasn't been the first time they've taken more than an hour or so to help us out. This was my first Gucci purchase. I went online to view what wanted to purchase and online it gives the option to purchase or make an appointment which was pretty convenient considering I live a little over an hour away. The next day I received a text from a store associate Summer Chen and she was very helpful letting me know the bag was available and other items that matched if I was interested. I must say I've had a good experience considering other people and their reviews. And for the weirdos that say if you're under dressed you won't get help, yes you will. There was a customer who was looking at a purse that caught my mom's eye. While the salesperson was busily helping the customer next to us, I asked him what the price was for that purse. He replied....."$1,350" My mom didn't hear him so she asked him..."excuse me, how much?" He replied...." 1-3-5-0" (in a snobby tone) We both did not appreciate his attitude towards us and felt he was looking down on us because of the way we were dressed that evening. He made it sound like we were being a bother when I was asking him questions about the purse. He said things like.."it's EXPENSIVE". Seriously? Wow.....we have never been treated this way even at Chanel or LV. You should never judge your customer based on how they are dressed.
