Amazing Scallops
Enrique G.

I really like the place and the friendliness of the staff... They suggested I try the scallops which were amazing and totally worth the trip. My beef with this place is with the cut of meat... I mean, it's OK they're gonna give you a smaller portion, who needs half a cow right? But if they do, they should charge accordingly. So what I can say is their steaks are the Smith or Chili's quality and size at Mastros or Morton's prices...! So either you charge for a huge first quality piece of steak and deliver it or you charge for a smaller lesser quality if you're gonna stay down there. Bottom line a half an inch thick steak should not be 80 bucks

Caesar salad from lunch special

This restaurant is stunning! I got so excited when I realized that there is a location in New York City, because I heard good things about the Sunday roast in London. I came here for lunch, because a friend had recommended their steak frites, and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is stunning inside and super spacious. There's a high ceiling and there's also a lower level which is where the bathrooms are. I got the two course lunch special, which was $40 pre-tip and tax, and I got the Caesar salad as well as the steak frites. Both were delicious, and the service was also incredible. One of my friends ordered a steak that was supposed to be medium well, but instead it came well done, and even though she didn't want to make a big deal out of it, I think that a server had overheard, so then someone came over to make sure that the feedback was sent back to the kitchen. I would absolutely return for future meals!

Porterhouse 28 oz

Ambiance: SO loud in here - it sounded like a huge cafeteria/food hall. Not super stuffy or fancy so no need to really dress up. Food: Really wanted to like this spot but not sure we will be back. Was not wowed enough to justify prices. Porterhouse was $182 for 28 oz which is a fair price and tasted fine but lacked some flavor. It was salted fine but I somehow felt it fell a touch bland. The bone marrow with onions was nice but the bread it came with was so hard and tough (overtoasted perhaps). Beef fat fries were good. Cocktails: Delicious - loved the Wallflower. Dessert: Really good - the Grand Rocher and Peanut Butter Louis was lovely. Beautifully presented. Overall maybe a good spot for a big collegue dinner post-work or a casual hang. It's really hard to hear so wouldn't suggest for an intimate date or a quiet dinner.

Normal/non-seasonal desserts- Peanut Butter Louie. Tasty. A bit rich, but nice

Winter Restaurant Week Review 4/6- Located "across the pond" from their original spot, Hawksmoor is a large British steakhouse that I've been to a couple of times. The first time I was here was back in August for their excellent desserts, which rotate seasonally and match the British menu, and the most recent time was for restaurant week a few days ago. This spot specifically offers it for lunch from Monday to Saturday, with two courses for $45. The place also offers a comparable express lunch menu outside of restaurant week, with 2 courses for $40 or 3 courses for $55, which is a slightly better deal if you don't mind getting 2 oz less of their rump steak and fewer side choices. The service was friendly, and the place is bright and inviting with a nice-looking bar. I didn't bother with a drink, though someone else enjoyed a glass of wine. As with most of us, I went with the main dish and dessert. However, I decided to start with the Ash-Baked Beets Salad with pickled fennel, horseradish, and hazelnuts for $19, which is also part of that menu. There were plenty of beets, all well roasted, and the hazelnuts were lightly toasted, with a nice occasional crunch. My favorite part was the fennel, which added a sour snap. The horseradish was shaved on top, similar to a prime rib, and thankfully wasn't overpowering. This was tasty and worth it. Another person decided to skip dessert and enjoyed the Smoked Salmon with herbed cream cheese and Guinness bread, which is normally $24. Outside of one person who doesn't eat beef, the rest of us decided to order the Rump & Side as a main. This consisted of a 10oz dry-aged rump, 2oz less than the steak on the main menu, which is normally $45. The choice of sides included Boston lettuce salad, lemon spinach, sweet potato, and beef-fat fries. The steak was simply presented, was surprisingly tender for the cut, and was beefy. I went with the fries, which had a good crisp and came with a very different type of ketchup, which was more the British style, as it was much less sweet and much more tomato-focused, which I preferred. It was a good steak, but I have preferred some other spots. Someone else got the sweet potato, which was quite large, and I tried a bit of the spinach, which was decent. Two of the other people there decided to get the Peppercorn, or rather au poivre sauce, for an extra $7.50. This wasn't necessary, but the au poivre was decently flavored with a mildly peppery taste and was a bit less buttery, similar to the side of spinach. The person who doesn't eat beef got the Warm Lobster Roll for an extra $10 with garlic butter and bearnaise, which she liked a lot and appeared to contain a lot of lobster. This also comes with beef-fat fries, and the kitchen was nice enough to substitute them for regular fries. For dessert, there were two seasonal options along with the Sticky Toffee Sundae. I shared said sundae with the Walnut & Whisky Mille-Feuille, with pear compote, whisky cream, candied walnuts, and pear sorbet. As per last time I was here, I find their sticky toffee sundae a bit too cloyingly sweet, but that comes with the nature of this dish, so I can't fault the place. The mille-feuille was excellent, though with a bit of spice, some pear sweetness, and nicely crusty pastry. I tried a bit of the Brown Butter Orange Tart with orange jam, spiced custard, and orange ice cream. This had a complex mixture of bitterness, spices, and sweetness. He found it alright, but I enjoyed it. Compared to our previous visit, the desserts were better the first time we were here. The mille-feuille was previously an outstanding tropical version, and I slightly preferred that texture and presentation. The Pavlova last time also had a citrus base, but was with raspberry and strawberry instead of lemon, and was excellent. Lastly, for non-changing desserts, the Peanut Butter Louis was a bit rich but very tasty. At least from what I have had so far, I would recommend this place particularly for its appetizers and desserts, which are a bit different from those at other steakhouses. Mid/upper 3 overall, but mid/low 4 for the seasonal desserts

If I could give this place a zero star review I would. I visited the restaurant twice. The first time everything I ordered was sold out for the night. The waiter didn't let me know until the order was put in. I let the waiter know that I had a specific food allergy. After they gave us the food the waiter came back five minutes later to let me know that what I was eating had my specific food allergy. The second time I came, we ordered a 34 ounce portion of steak. When the food arrived, the portion looked more like a 28 or a 26 ounce. I ended up going to a restaurant afterwards with the people I came with because we're still hungry for our meal. We spoke to the waiter and explained to them that we ordered a 34 ounce and they claimed that it was a 34 ounce. As we're leaving the assistant manager said the next time you'll come will give you free drinks. There is never be a next time. At any high-end steakhouse, the portions are by person, not by weight.

Wife and I went for lunch during restaurant week this winter. It was a blast! We headed in when they opened at 11a, got a table and had a wonderful meal. We had a steak, lobster roll, fries, mac and cheese, etc. The Mac and cheese is a must for a side while there. It was rich and delicious and a must share for two people. The service was incredible and the restaurant itself was beautiful and cozy inside. The drink menu is also super fun so we explored some cocktails and mocktails while we were there. If you can only eat one thing there, have the sticky toffee pudding dessert. So delicious! You'll want to have four of them!

Came for Sunday roast, really enjoyed this classic UK institute! The meat was cooked so well and to perfection. Not quite the same as in the UK, but this one is definitely closer. Note Sunday roast is only offered on Sunday! Oh, and don't forget to get the toffee for dessert, it's SO good.

Hawksmoor is one of our go to's for steak when we visit the city. I was able to get a reservation but it was after 9. The drinks are always good here. You can order drinks while you wait to be seated. Everything I've had here was always good and cooked right. We have done some of the steaks, the halibut and sides. Sticky toffee pudding is a good dessert. Service is always great here as well.

Absolutely stunning venue with amazing service. Went for cocktails with friends at the bar. The service was so amazing- had the best time soo friendly and helpful. Really brought up the atmosphere. Cocktails were delicious as well. We ended up getting a couple as well as some fries. Overall great place for drinks

Cesar salad
Yohei D.

The inside is very spacious. The staff are friendly and always had a smile on their face. I got a ny strip and a Cesar salad. I found the steak to be bland and lacked flavor. It was also on the drier side. The steak comes out on a heated plate. For the expensive price , I would recommend other steak places in the city. I had a gift card and it was also inconvenient that I had to use my credit card to make a separate transaction just to tip.

This place is chill in the afternoon for a good lunch. It's also a nice dinner spot with a large dining area in the back of the restaurant. The bar has a great selection of liquor and the drinks are around $22 a pop. Staff is friendly. They greet you at the door. Reservations are strongly suggested. I got the steak and fries and the Carmel Sunday. It was all tasty and delicious!

I've been wanting to try this steakhouse for a while and glad I finally came here! For starters I had their scallops and I wish the portion to be a lot bigger for $30. For steak I got their ribeye and I paired it with a side of beef fat fries. The ribeye was solid, and I really enjoyed the fries. There was actually quite a few items on their desserts on their menu that I was interested in, but I ultimately settled on their warm sticky toffee. I last had it a few months ago and been craving it lately.

For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered.
