We ordered here for the first time. We are looking for a new pizza place. A large 3 topping was delivered in a half hour on a Saturday night. Not bad! It was $19 total with tax. The crust was thinner than we expected but we were happy with the pizza. The red sauce was very good. The meats were plenty and flavorful. Not too greasy. Very tasty. We will definitely order from them again next time we will try the thick crust. They have a large menu with wings, salads, pasta and much more. We are interested in trying more. read more

Disappointing. Cheese scarce and cooked to being dried out on pizza. Pasta portions miniature, dried out around edges with minimum amount of sauce. Much of the pasta not having any sauce on it. Dinner salad also miniature. Much has changed there. I get rising cost and accept that. Smaller portions and lesser quality shouldn't be happening if charging more. I have been living in Tujunga for over 5 years but I'm Italian, so going out and paying for Italian food is not something I do - but today I had a yearning for Alfredo and I didn't have the ingredients to make it myself. Plus it was Food Truck night and as much fun as that is, I thought I would try some take-out from a local place. After reading through my collection of menus I thought I would try Guido's mostly because it was above all the hoopla going on below Mt. Gleason. Not only was it delicious - and hot, hot hot, even after the drive home, there was enough for two people, it came with a 1/4 loaf of garlic bread (which made me very hungry driving home) and a salad with two dressings on the side. Not just a lettuce-with-a-slice-of-tomato salad, but a salad with olives and tomatoes and shredded mozzarella cheese. All for 8 bucks. They have a terrific special that I was going to try - 14.95 for 2 orders of pasta, garlic bread & salad... just in case the Alfredo didn't work out, but I'm glad I didn't because it would have been wayyyy too much food. Still, Guido's has me seriously considering never cooking Italian again (forgive me Grandma). Good food, great prices - and the place is as clean as a whistle, which came as somewhat a surprise (it's Tujunga after all). I should have gone to Guidos years ago. I recently tried Guidos for the first time and wish I had been a customer earlier. My friend and I ordered the hot wings with the Baked Ziti. The hot wings were cooked perfectly with a great flavor to them. The pasta was cooked with just the right amount of cheese. Plus the salad and bread that came with the pasta was a nice touch. If you enjoy pizza that's about as bland as a cardboard box, then this is your place. This is the 2nd time I've ordered from Guidos and it was even more disappointing than the first. The "Managers Special" that was supposed to be $23 wound up costing almost $35 and was definitely NOT worth it. The 8 piece wings had 3, half-wing parts (making it more of a 6 & 1/2 wing portion) and there was an average of 4 pea-sized pieces of sausage per slice on an 8 slice "large" pizza. The pizza was also very light on cheese and completely void of flavor. They must grow special taste-free tomatoes for use in their pizza sauce and search far & wide for sausages that have no flavor whatsoever. My roommate and I had some online work to finish tonight, and decided to order dinner and have it delivered. Our favorite Thai restaurant was closed, but we had received a flyer for Guido's in the mail, and decided to give it a try. We ordered pasta for two ($15.49). My roommate ordered spaghetti with meatballs, while I ordered the spinach cannelloni. The meal came with salad, garlic bread, and an extra loaf of bread. There was both ranch and Italian dressing for the salad (on the side, of course). The meal was delivered promptly, and the driver found our house easily (our house is poorly lighted, so delivery people often miss it). He was prepared with change for a $50 bill, since we had told them we had nothing smaller. The pasta was hot, and the portion sizes were generous. My roommate said that often when she orders spaghetti from a pizza place, the sauce is just pizza sauce on top of spaghetti, but tonight the spaghetti was topped with a REAL spaghetti sauce. It came with 7 meatballs. The cannelloni had plenty of spinach in it, and the sauce was just right. The salad was chilled and crisp, and included iceberg lettuce, olives, red onions, and mozzarella cheese. Everything was very tasty, and we have enough left over for another nice meal. We will definitely be calling Guido's again! (By the way, I think the Yelp page says Guido's is closed Sunday, but they were open tonight.) read more

This is the wife. We have been going here for over a decade. There are two things you are certain of in life, the sun comes up in the morning and Guido's offers great food for a good price while being really nice. We got one of our usuals, the Family Special, about two days before Christmas. It runs about $28. The meal was pretty off. We were not given the cheese and red peppers. (My husband actually ran up to Albertson's and bought a thing of cheese.) The spaghetti is usually filled to the brim of the foil container. It was about 75/80 percent full. The salad, which we always love, was disgusting. It had mostly the inner part and heart, the yellow leaves. That is the stuff you cut off and toss out. There were hardly any tomatoes, about two cubes, little cheese and a few olives. I can't believe as repeat customers of so many years they gave that to us, or anybody for that matter. (I have a picture I will post.) The bread was overbaked and overly crunchy. It was plain hard! We all have off days cooking at home... So,... I called immediately and told the manager what had happened. I asked what was going on that day, as perhaps there was a big order that was being prepared for a party somewhere and they were rushing. He said "no". I expressed all of these issues, and he said I could go up and get a replacement salad. That's it, and that was only after I said I was going to do a yelp review and put a photo of the salad on yelp. I told him the food was cold already. "Okay", I said, as that was better than nothing. So, I held, and held, and held... (They know our number because it displays on their end.) I finally hung up. We wanted to eat and the food was getting cold. We thought that perhaps because of all of the business over the years, and the very generous tips that we had given, that they would call me back. He didn't. They didn't even drop a salad off. He just blew me off completely. He didn't talk about the spaghetti and bread. He didn't offer a discount the next time. He offered to only replace the salad and dodged us in doing that. This is so sad and disappointing. An establishment should stand behind their product and offer customer service. In all of our years, we have never complained about anything, things happen, but it was not handled well. A few weeks later in the new year, I called and wanted to order a pizza for pick up. I mentioned how we were owed a salad. The person there, probably one of the family members, made such a big thing about giving us a replacement salad that I told him to forget it. (I guess that the manager was not there.) I told my husband to not order from there again unless they address the issues and follow through with what they promised. How much can a salad be?! Come to think of it, how much is spaghetti and bread to where he was not even willing to supplement/replace those? Business should appreciate their good customers, because if you take them for granted, what customer will you have left? This establishment used to have five stars, and now only has four, I wonder why? What a shame. read more

We come here fairly often and love the food and service! As a vegetarian, my favorites are the baked spinach cannelloni and the vegetarian pizza. The marinara sauce they use for both is so so flavorful and they always give us an extra side of sauce without charging us for it, which is nice. The spinach cannelloni (dinner portion) is always enough for me and my hubby (though we tend to be small eaters) and it comes with garlic bread and a salad, which makes the price unbeatable. The vegetarian pizza is unique because they add a crispy eggplant on top which is so delicious - I only wish they would remove the skin from the eggplant but that is a personal choice. These guys make great pizza and sides, but there's just one small thing... They love sauce a bit too much in my opinion. Like, they put MASSIVE amounts of sauce in almost EVERYTHING. They even put it in their potato skins. Bear in mind, I am of the belief that if there was a Heaven, the food there would be steak, Ice Tea and Potato Skins. That being said, I have NEVER heard of any restaurant putting sauce in skins, and considering how weird the taste was when I first tried it, it's pretty clear why. Maybe you're a sauce-o-holic. I tried Guido's delivery through an eat24hour.com search. Ordering online was easy and the food was delivered quickly still hot. I needed another choice for delivery besides pizza or fried chicken. I tried the sausage sandwich and broccoli side with a salad. Everything was tasty and the sandwich with the tasty bread (disagree with another review about the bread) was a good meal. Garlic bread with the house Italian dressing was very good. I recommend this dressing for your salad. It is light with vinegar and herbs. My cousin Patrick loves this place and he recently treated me to his favorite Pizza here. I was very impressed it was a thousand times better than a dominos or pizza hut. Nice people, good food, good prices. It looks like an Italian take-out place and that's what it is, my girlfriend and I have tried several of their pasta dishes so far and all of them were very tasty. The people there seem nice too. Very nice variety. They are efficient about getting your order done, and expert at packaging it to go. Food was piping hot when we got home and served it. Yum!
