Came by for some dinner stuff. Pretty chill there and I do like phone booth doors they have entrance and restrooms. They very polite and give a old menu to decide on what I wanted and was sure to let know the prices would off since older. So I am appreciate the Honesty. Garlic knots were good, lightly seasoned and not swimming in oil like other places do, plus crunchy outside and soft inside. For the sandwich definitely a fair amount of meat and got mine plain, definitely should asked for a spread of mayo since it was bit dry. Overall glad I got to try them. read more

On October 28, 2023, I had to go to urgent care and was waiting there for over three hours to get care because I wasn't feeling well. Afterwards, I decided to get some fast food, so I won't have to cook after waiting so long at the urgent care. I decided to a pizza parlor named Guido's Pizza Parlor in Walden, N.Y. The first thing I noticed is that they're not Italians cooks, so was a little bit skeptical about the taste of the pizza, garlic knots and Calzone's flavor. I'm used to eating the pizza and everything else Italian from New York City, so I'm very choosy about where I eat these things. First and foremost, they took a long time to just warm up the food because the food wasn't just made. I didn't mind because I chose this place so had to wait. Then I was charged a higher price than expected. I finally got the food and went home without checking it, but I should've checked it before I left. I opened the garlic knots, when I got home, and they were so burnt on one side that had to cut the burnt part out and throw it out. The Calzone was also very burnt on one side that it was difficult for me to eat it. The taste was salty and not at all like the Italian pizza from a true Italian pizza parlor. The very next day I call Guido's and spoke to the owner, and I couldn't believe the response from him, instead of apologizing, he insulted me, telling me that I should've gone back the same day and let them see the burnt food. I told the owner I wasn't feeling well and was in the urgent care for over three hours, was extremely tired and he didn't care. Then he told me that I didn't buy it from their place because they don't burn food, that they are perfect. I was shocked. Who doesn't burn food when cooking? Where's the apology for the error, the sympathy for the customer. I told him, "I have the receipt" "I can send you the pictures" plus, no matter what, "The customer is always right". That's how you keep them coming back and spend their hard-earned money there. The owner was closed minded and just kept insulting me. If you want to get charged high prices for burnt food, no apology for getting the food burnt and in a bad condition then go to Guido's Pizza Parlor in Walden, N.Y. They lost a great customer with a business that could've give them lots of business. Shame on them! There's no place like New York City Pizza. read more

I can't say enough about this place. I used to live next door and thought it was just convenient to go here. But I've learned really rapidly from my travels around New York and now living in Connecticut that it was the best pizza I have ever eaten. I absolutely live and die for their chicken cordon bleu Pizza. These guys are always warm and inviting. I moved out of state eight years ago and they still remember my voice on the phone when I order that pizza when I pass through the area. That kind of small town feeling can't be replicated. I've been stuck and unable to get back to that area for about a year and a half now and I've been trying to figure out ways to get that pizza mailed to me or fedexed haha. I would give zero stars if I could. I walked into Guido's today to find that none of the employees were wearing masks or gloves, including the cook in the back who was openly coughing into the air. My family and I didn't feel comfortable eating the food and when I asked if we could bring it back and receive a refund, they said no. They said no one was coughing in their restaurant and they didn't even address the fact that they weren't wearing masks. If you value the health and safety of yourself and your community, I caution you from eating here. Clearly Guido's doesn't care about your health and they are not interested in following state mandated rules for restaurants. I'm appalled at this behavior and at the way they treated me. read more

This was an unusual and particularly awful experience. My fiancée ordered for takeout and the food was ready quickly. On July 16, in the middle of the pandemic, she entered the store to find ZERO of the employees wearing masks. One of the men in the back was coughing. Not knowing what to do, and afraid to call them out face to face, she paid for the food and came home, and none of us thought it was a great idea to eat it. She called to politely ask if we could return it for a refund, and the employees denied the story. They claimed they couldn't offer a refund. Let me be clear: we aren't really upset about the denied refund. Let me repeat: we aren't upset about not getting a refund! We ARE upset that in a health crisis, the employees did not care at all about wearing masks or taking safety precautions, and when called out, they denied it. If you're the kind of person who thinks masks are overrated, I guess this might be the restaurant for you. If I were you, I would be concerned about which other health precautions Guido's refuses to take seriously, if indeed masks are so much of a burden. I understand that this is a difficult time for small businesses, but we will be supporting those that play by the rules rather than those that cut huge corners. read more

Great pizza and wings. The pizza was huge and the wings perfectly crispy. Definitely worth the price. Everything was really fresh and hot. Recommend the smoky bbq wings and Guidos Special pie. I owe you guys a review and sorry it didn't come sooner! I would like to share my positive experiences at your restaurant and give credit where it is due. And, since it's with regard to your sausage and peppers, let me start by saying "I never sausage a place! I have been living in Walden for 14 years now and pizza and Italian places have come and gone, and have improved and declined in quality. I don't judge merely on the pie, though I have to say, I tried a slice of yours a couple months back and was pleasantly surprised. For those Italians in the crowd reading this, realize that when you see me type "sausage" I am pronouncing it "soss-EACH". Only true "pie-ZOHNS" will understand that! Dudes. Sausage and pepper sandwich? (pronounced "sung-WEECH") Home run my Guido "goombas". You make a nice sandwich and the sauce, the peppers and sausage come nice the way you make it. So far every time! And, while I'm at it, where do you get that bread? Hands down, best bread made from quality ingredients. Keep getting it from wherever you get it. Itsa nice! Very bad do not order from there one it took an hour and 30 minutes to get food delivered and then they delivered to the wrong apt because I guess the Delivery guy can't read and gave my food to apt 1 instead of apt 13 which they gladly expected it why not free food so we called them and asked where my food and what are you doing to fix this screw up and they said give me another 30 Minutes so they didn't do shit to fix the issues of us waiting over 2 hours for food bad customer service . Decided to give Guido's another chance...never again. They burnt the crust so bad it shattered and they must be running low on cheese because there wasn't much! On top of an inedible pizza the delivery kid overcharged me, the receipt say $14.50 for a med cheese pizza I gave him a $20 apparently the new math makes my change $2. There are at least 3 other pizzerias in town, I advise going to one of them. Reputation and quality are more important, if you can't make it right, don't. read more

I recently visited Guido's with friends and I was completely APPALLED at the way the owner treated us. My friend has children with life threatening peanut allergies. Whenever we go out to eat she speaks to the chef or manager to see if they can accommodate the allergy. I really cannot believe how rude and insensitive this guy was. First, he acted like it wasn't a big deal. If you have a child where traces of cross contamination can induce an anaphylactic reaction - it's a BIG DEAL. Then, he says "Let me give you some advice, don't eat out in restaurants. You shouldn't ever go out." Well, I can guarantee they won't be coming back to Guidos ever again. So disappointed. I used to order take out regularly but stopped when I bought a chicken bacon ranch pizza because it was the only thing left. They were closing an hour earlier for Easter. Anyway, the owner recommended it and it looked interesting. It was disgusting! It dripped with grease, also there was a rancid flavor. I called the next business day to complain but the owner was far from gracious stating "of course it would be. It had bacon on it." I swear there was so.much grease you'd have thought they used that instead of sauce. Anyway, I stopped buying from them. The other day I decided to order something for family dinner because it was The most convenient place to go. I bought a small calzone with mushroom and 2 hot heroes. The calzone tasted as if someone had drained the mushrooms in the calzone and the sandwiches were more bread than eggplant or meatballs. I will never order from then again. I'll go out of my way to go to Franco's, Giuseppe's, or Lilly's. All of which have better food and generous portions. read more

Scammers during this covid-19 crisis. 1st they charged an additional $2 when we ordered delivery and paid with card, even though we were ordering over $25. When we stopped using a card and paid with cash, they started holding back wings. We ordered 12 they would deliver 11 at 1st then eventually 10 but still charge full price and not inform us. Far below average pizza. I don't know how anyone could honestly give them five stars. Maybe the previous reviewers haven't ever had REALLY GREAT pizza? Or maybe they don't have any taste buds? Smokers? Maybe they're related to the owner? Maybe they've never been out of Walden? Because we've had all the pizza in Walden, and really, none is great. It's all passable fare, but in no way deserving of five stars. Not even close. Gordon Ramsey is a five star chef and he'd be appalled. The sauce is so very blah and so tasteless as to be unnoticeable. Seriously, I didn't even taste sauce. The pizza was so soggy and wet, the toppings slid off, just trying to pick it up. The Margarita pizza? Wow, so disappointed. The basil was miniscule, and overcooked. So very stingy with the basil. Did you guys know its supposed to have basil on it? As for the wings? The wings are better on the hot bar at Hannaford grocery store, quite frankly. Not to mention the overcharging of my card. I ordered delivery of an order that was on a coupon for $38.95. Two large pizzas, 24 wings, and one 2 liter beverage. The actual bill was $58.10. I ordered a combo and Margarita. Now the coupon reads TWO LARGE PIZZAS. It doesn't say plain. Or single topping. Or anything about what kind of pizza. And the girl who answered the phone and took my order was DEFINITELY told by me I had a coupon for $38.95. She never said ANYTHING about not being able to order THOSE pizzas with that coupon. NOT ONCE! The owner tells me later when I call, that he doesn't need to make his coupon clear, accurate and factual, I need to realize that around here, it's understood that it's plain pizza, no toppings. Even though it doesn't ACTUALLY SAY THAT ANYWHERE on the coupon. Sorry that English isn't your first language, but it's not my fault you've got a crummy marketing department, YOU! Come to think of it, this is typical of much of the kind of customer service many New Yorkers offer. The customer is the problem. Guidos is a small Pizza Parlor/Italian food eatery just off SR52. It is a descent pizza parlor in a town with far too many already (5-6 for a small village). The owners are Albanian, but don't let that stop you, because the food is better than many of the other Pizza joints out there. Their pizza is a little thicker than the average for the area, but it is still pretty good. They make a tastey white pizza and and my wife loves their Gyros (I know that Gyros are not Italian, but they are still worth mentioning). The owners and their family/employess are usually pretty friendly so don't hesitate to order a pie. They even deliver if you live in the Walden area. The only reservation I have is that they post a minimum purchase of $15 for credit cards. That is a turn off for those who need to stop somewhere for lunch or want to get take out for themselves and do not have any cash on them. Unfortunately , they will just drive down the street to a competitor who does not have a minimum on credit cards. that adds up to a lot of lost business, especially during a lunch service when mosty people are going to spend under $15. read more

We have had salads, wraps, dinners, and pizzas from Guidos. We order from there at least twice a week. Everyone is friendly, and they remember us when we go in. When we don't go in, the delivery staff is very nice. Their sauces are excellent and their pizza toppings are high quality. Not only that, but they are consistently good.
