The service, food and drinks are great. Love the macrons(did i spell it right, not the coconut ones) are so smooth and the cookie fantastic. I do wish the flavors were stronger. The strawberry is yummy!

I'm honestly a very hard critic when it comes to coffee while doing keto because it's so hard to find a low to no carb coffee that actually tastes good. That's why this spot is really cool it's specifically geared toward keto coffee, which I love! Even though the concept is amazing, the coffee itself wasn't my favorite, but that has more to do with how picky I am about keto coffee in general because it's so hard to perfect. The shop actually does a really amazing job with it and it's probably the closest to a great keto coffee I've found. The mocha was actually really good and next time I'll try their regular keto coffee to see how that compares. Don't get me wrong, I'll still come here when I need a pick me up because I don't have to worry about hidden carbs or sugars, which is a huge relief. My best friend actually loved it, so I'm sure a lot of people will enjoy it. The desserts are a different story though they are def a hit. I want to say I've tried most of the keto desserts here and I'm obsessed with them. The prices can add up pretty quickly, but their reward system is great if you come here often. There's also plenty of parking and the inside has enough space if you want to hang out for a bit. If you're doing keto and constantly stressing about hidden carbs like I do, this spot is a lifesaver.

    Ube cookie

Been going to GuilTea Cravings for YEARS now and it always hits the spot! They have these delicious house made ube cookies that are soooo soft and the perfect amount of sweetness. They're large and size, made fresh, and very affordable too! They have a large variety of drinks and a food menu with plenty of savory items. The fries here are nice, crispy, and hot and come with various types of seasonings like house blend and Cajun! I also absolutely love the service here. Everyone that works here is so kind, friendly, and easy to talk to. They really take the time to make you feel home. As for the decor I love that they have multiple booths (only thing I wished they had was pillows LOL). But the tables here are spacious. And the decor has a lots of greenery which really brightens up the place. Also one of the workers did some cute handmade decor for valentines! Overall me & my family love this spot.

I placed a pic up order via toast for the ube basque cheesecake and the original basque cheesecake. I tried calling ahead to see if they had it in stock and no one answered but my online order being confirmed with no extra fees was reassuring that they had the slices I wanted. Tried the original basque first and it was extremely delicious but the ube definitely took first place. Extremely delicious and want to grab for friends next time! Inside looked nice although I did a quick pick up order that was ready within my ten minute drive of heading over to pick up!

Sea Salt Cream Jasmine Tea with matcha cream and boba
    Vivi V.

I can't believe this shop has been here for so long and I haven't tried them and it seems they've updated their decor and menu to follow the trends. It was on my radar because of DoorDash there is a buy one get one free promotion. Sea salt cream jasmine tea with matcha foam and boba - the jasmine tea flavor is floral and pleasant, and I liked the salted matcha cream flavor that added a hint of matcha flavor to the drink. I didn't like the boba as it was tasteless and had no flavor so would skip next time. Salted coffee with Ube cream - delicious Vietnamese coffee style with a hint of Ube flavor. This one was so good! Parking is very easy in free large parking lot. My order was made quickly and ready to go and packaged well.

The eye candy was amazing - even keto cheesecake options!

QUICK TAKE// Chill boba spot with a great variety of options at very fair prices. SUPER Keto friendly and wow their cheesecakes were . FOOD + SERVICE// In searching for a keto friendly coffee option, this place came up and I was floored with how many keto options they had! It is so rare that I see a separate keto menu - down to their cheesecakes! I got the KETO VIETNAMESE COFFEE. It was surprisingly not sweet at all - so I did have to ask for more allulose. They were really nice about adjusting to my preferences (including offering to completely redo my drink if it got too sweet). Boyfriend got the PROTEIN THAI TEA FRAPPE - this was super good. Tasted just like a regular Thai slushy that was more creamy. I asked why they had the keto menu, and I learned that the owner was keto for about 12 years and the lady working there (I wish I got her name!) had also been keto - they therefore were very knowledgeable about the diet. I know next time I want a chance to try their Keto Chaffle! I sampled some of the CHEESECAKES they had at the counter - but the highlight was their BASQUE UBE CHEESECAKE. Absolutely delicious and the consistency was ‍. VIBES// Laid back boba shop that had a fair amount of mid sized tables that could probably fit about 6 people. They had some board games and it really is a spot for people to come and hangout.

    Strawberry tea (wouldn't get)

Poor guy was working alone and was busy on a Saturday around 2:30. Ordered a Spam Musubi and a strawberry tea and took 20 mins...the spam musubi was already made. People who ordered after me were getting their drinks before mine. I ordered at the kiosk to help the guy out so he didn't need to take my order. They had a deal on the spam musubi but it wasn't registering in the kiosk. At a certain point another employee started working and asked her why the spam musubi deal wasn't working and where my order was. She just gave me a spam musubi. English was a second language and she could probably tell I was upset so good on her. This would have been a 1 star review because the musubi wasn't great and neither was the drink. I might have ordered wrong, but I'm not going to come here again to find out. Just drive the other way and go to one of the tea houses on Convoy.

Super cute and fun vibes! The barista was so kind and LGBTQ+ friendly. Also you can get an avocado bagel for 5 bucks which is a friggin steal

The place was small and cute, we were able to hang out and play some games. Service was good. We got a few drinks and some shrimp toast all in a timely manner! To be frank it just wasn't good. I feel bad saying so but I've had a lot of tea around and it just wasn't that good. The toast was okay. And all the drinks weren't bad , but far from good. In my opinion.

Partial view of the suite front

Guiltea Cravings is one of the older boba tea shops in the SD area having been around for nearly 10 years. The business is located in the Madison Place of Clairemont just west of I-805. There is always plenty of open parking spaces in the plaza lot. About five tables with bench style seating were available inside. Shelves with books and games provided entertainment if you wanted to hang around and pass time. Macarons, bubble tea, and coffee were the featured items on the business sign hanging above the suite on the marquee. Appetizers, banh mi sandwiches, bao buns, and garlic noodles were the savory offerings to complement the sweet drinks and desserts. It was eerily quiet during my mid-afternoon visit with just one person (possible employee?) seated at a table. Maybe the customer traffic picks up in the evening. There were six types of fruit teas listed. I chose the True Passion Tea that was made up of passion fruit, green tea, and popping boba. Since a topping was already included, I didn't request another one. To my surprise, the drink was sweeter than I anticipated which was unusual. The popping boba provided some texture, but I would have preferred ordinary brown sugar pearls instead. The price and quality of the tea were average which led to my three star rating for Guiltea Cravings.

We have been coming here for years. The menu continually changes. Thankfully the macrons have remained. They have a good amount of flavors and come out with seasonal flavors. I like the birthday cake, ube and cookies and creme. Regular macron cost $2.25 per piece if you buy 5, 10, 15, or 20 there is extra discount. They also come out with adorable character macarons that cost a bit more. The shell has a nice outside crisp and chewy texture. The flavored ganache has a good amount. other desserts that I like: cookies (chocolate chip, cookie n cream) cheesecake Keto Items I have liked: Keto Chaffle- cheese, egg, almond flour $5 Keto Mocha Coffee **One of our top favorite places to get a spam musubi in San Diego!!** We are originally from Hawaii and the largest consumers of Spam (next to Guam). My kids could eat a spam musubi morn, noon and night. 1 for $4 2 for $5 C'mon get 2! It's a Double Spam Musubi It has a splash of sauce, decent amount of rice, with a spam on top and the bottom wrapped with seaweed and sprinkled with furikake. Favorite Drinks: - Matcha Frappe. I ask to blend it with Oreo and add boba - Strawberry Matcha My kids like the board games that they have. They have 5 booths. A bench outside and several chairs facing the front. I have come in to do work. Service is usually good. They have been great explaining things to me when I want to try something new. Parking: private Free parking Military Discount: 10% This will remain our family go to place. Good service, yummy desserts, and it has a nice environment to hang out.

Matcha lychee & red velvet ($7 each)
    Katie W.

Best Basque cheesecake in San Diego! I've had Basque cheesecake in restaurants that charge a lot more for mediocre cheesecake. This is such a hidden gem if you like Basque cheesecake. There's no crust, so you just get the best part of the cheesecake. It also happens to be gluten free. Their cheesecake isn't overly sweet, although it is rich like how I want my cheesecake to be. Their generous slices usually take me a few days to get through. I also love their Asian flavors like ube, matcha, etc. They usually do a seasonal flavor too like pumpkin, red velvet, etc. They used to have a durian one that was so good if you're a durian lover. Their classic flavor is super solid too if you like a more traditional cheesecake flavor. I'm realizing that I've not had a bad flavor from here! I'm not a big drinks person, so I can't say much about that. I regularly come here for their desserts. I got to chat with Destinee, one of the bakers, and she said they make their desserts in-house bright and early in the morning. Give their cookies a try too! They have unique flavors, and they're moist and not too sweet. Parking is super easy, and they have a great rewards program too!

Ask the Community - Guiltea Cravings

Can you purchase the full cheesecakes not just the pre-sliced?

You can order the whole cheesecake here. https://order.toasttab.com/online/guiltea-cravings-5497-clairemont-mesa-blvd

What's the selection of board games here? Do we have to pay to use the board games?

We currently don't have any board games. We put them all away during Covid.

How much are boxes of macarons? Are there different count options?

We have one for 12 macs for $22. And one for 20 macs for $36.

Can the keto drinks be blended?

Yes, but they will not be as tasty since they are not sweet. The best one is probably Vietnamese coffee keto and asks to blend it.

Do you still offer the classic caramel coffee?

We have caramel cream coffee. That is caramel coffee with our in-house sea salt cream but we can make it without the cream.

Is it possible for management to offer vegan milk options one day? That would be awesome! I've loved GuilTea for years but now that I am newly vegan I can't have your milk teas anymore. :(

H Angelica, just asks us to make you Thai tea or jasmine green tea with plant-based milk. We have nondairy milk as vegan options.

    Do they sell gift cards?

    Yes!

Are there any keto friendly desserts?

Sorry for a late response. We are working on adding more keto drinks, desserts, and food. Soon.

Are vegan friendly substitutes for the milk teas available (unsweetened coconut or almond milk)?

We do offer soy milk and almond milk as substitute.

Is the music loud here? What kind of music do they play? :)

I don't think it's loud and I go there a lot. I've gone there to study or hang out and we can carry a conversation no problem. Music is hip hop.

Which of your macaron flavors are grain free?

Hi, right now we have the oreo and French toast macarons are not gluten free. However we do bake them all in the same area and display them in the same case. Thanks.

Can you make milk teas unsweetened with heavy cream instead of non-dairy creamer?

I guess we can just never make it like that before.

Today, it's one of the most well-known Vietnamese restaurants in the city, and after this visit, I can definitely see why. One of my favorite things about coming here is the location. Even though it's right in Convoy, parking has never been an issue for me. I usually avoid the area because finding a spot can be a headache, but Phuong Trang has a large parking lot that makes stopping by so much easier. I came in for a quick takeout lunch. One thing to know before you go is they don't accept Apple Pay, so make sure to bring a physical card or cash. The staff was incredibly welcoming. They greeted me when I walked in, gave me plenty of time to look over the menu, and never made me feel rushed. That kind of hospitality really stood out. I ordered the Char-Grilled Beef Vermicelli and the Shrimp, Pork & Jellyfish Salad. The salad comes with shredded green papaya, celery, cucumber, carrots, shrimp, pork, jellyfish strips, fresh mint, crushed peanuts, and shrimp chips. The salad was refreshing with plenty of shrimp and jellyfish throughout. I especially liked the crunch from the green papaya. My only complaint was that the dressing felt a little one dimensional. I wish it had a little more brightness to bring out the fresh herbs and vegetables. It was still enjoyable, though. The Char-Grilled Beef Vermicelli was my favorite of the two. It came with vermicelli noodles, fresh herbs, pickled daikon and carrots, crushed peanuts, plus five grilled beef rolls wrapped around scallions. The beef had a delicious smoky flavor from the grill. The only downside was that the inside of the rolls was a little chewy since it didn't get the same char as the outside. Even so, every bite was packed with flavor, so it wasn't enough to take away from the dish. Between the friendly service, quick turnaround for takeout, and solid food, I can see why Phuong Trang has stayed so popular for all these years. I'd happily come back and keep working my way through their menu.

We started off with some drinks, I got the Non-alcoholic Guava Mocktail and I got to try what was the equivalent to an espresso martini too. Definitely liked the guava drink better because it tasted like guava nectar juice (kind of like Kerns or Jumex). The Expresso Martini had fresh mint in it and it tasted earthy which wasn't my cup of tea. For food we started off with the Heirloom Tomato Salad which was DELICIOUS!! I don't know what they put in the Vietnamese Green Goddess (probably fish sauce since all the dishes basically had this) but it was magnificent and one of my favorite dishes of the night. Then the Scallops and the Black Cod came out. The Scallops came in a set of 3 and we cut them in half so we could all have a taste. The sauce on this was DIVINE!!! The Black Cod was also delicious. It had fried skin attached and a sesame soy glaze. Next up came the Beef Tartare and the Wagyu Steak. The Beef Tartare was probably the least flavorful out of everything we ordered, but it was still well seasoned. My friend said it was really spicy but it might have just been her bite because I didn't think it was spicy at all. I like that the give you the option of leafy greens or shrimp chips to eat it with. The Wagyu though, was an all-star dish. It was the crowd favorite for sure, we all enjoyed not only the steak but the picked baby eggplants that come with it, and the sauce was phenomenal!! Lastly came the Dry Aged Duck which is what they're known for. It was definitely the biggest fish out of all. You were able to eat the duck with two different sauces, one they called a "Fish Sauce Chimichurri" and "Vietnamese XO sauce" which is more so satay. My friends liked the XO sauce but I liked the Chimichurri better. They had actually forgotten about the side of Buttered Rice but I was told it was incredibly flavorful on its own so we still asked for it. It had more than just butter in it, there was dried shrimp and sesame seeds, and it was made with coconut milk or something because it had a sweet but savory taste to it. I saved some of my duck and Wagyu to eat with it which was actually pretty good. Overall I liked that they brought out the dishes from lightest to heaviest and especially after they brought out out 2 sides of Buttered Rice we were all satisfied and full. It was the perfect amount of food. Honestly EVERY dish was different but amazingly dank and I think it's the fish sauce in everything. They were also sweet and kept the cake we brought in the fridge, placed the candles on it for us, and even after we sang they cut the cake for us!! 10/10 would recommend coming here for not only the food but the impeccable service!! Since we had a larger party there's an automatic 20% gratuity already added to the bill, which came out to be $555! (Look at that angel number!)

Came here in December of 2024, to celebrate receiving an award with my friends before going to turf…read moreclub. Near closing so we all got one drink and the kitchen was closed (we were all seated at the bar). Wouldn't let us to pay for our own drinks and we had to pay as a group; so they could hit us with the auto gratuity. Then they had the audacity to ask to tip the kitchen staff as well. Like excuse you, your kitchen is closed, why would I tip the kitchen staff on top of the 20% automatic gratuity when I'm seated at the bar. We couldn't even order food if we wanted to! Now I'm writing this review 2 years later because it rubbed me the wrong way on what was supposed to be a night to remember after winning an award. And I do remember and anytime asks if I would recommend coming here, they get a solid no.
