Daily Special-Fried Catfish
Sinclair S.

Service was quick and good. The blackened catfish was very flavorful and I can tell From the gumbo sauce on my meal that the gumbo by itself is a hittter. The fried catfish was on the salty side but it was cooked to a perfect crisp. They did not have any drink options outside of coke and Dr.pepper. Also the food was put on paper plates after we asked for It to be to-go.

Blackened Tuna Steak Sandwich and Gumbo side

Been too long since my last visit. In town and staying out by IAH s was able to swing in and grab an awesome Blackened Tuna steak sandwich and a cup of delicious gumbo. The place is t much to look at but the food is awesome. The service is great. Always friendly when you walk in. The tuna was done excellent as it usually is. Grabbed it to go tonight so o could eat it back at the hotel. This sandwich is delicious but very messy. Best way to save the shirt is go back to the room and take it off and eat. So good.

The food was decent. Service was good. Ambiance is small but cool. Had the fish and shrimp and it was good to ok. I might try it again sometime when I need a cajun fix and I am at work, which this located close to Bush Intercontinental airport

Catfish Opelousas this was bland 4/10

This experience was mediocre and could've been better. The shrimp were the best thing I tasted 7/10. Customer service was a 2/10 I tired to call my order in and the girl said we're busy lol I was dropping my bf off at the airport so I just went up there and ordered. The setting was giving hole in the wall. But I really wanted to try the food. Just a poor experience but check them out you may have a better time than I did.

I used to eat here all the time back when I worked in the area. First time back in 7 years. Really good food. The fried pork chops were fried to perfection. I wish they offered this dish but smothered like with gravy on top. The gumbo was absolutely amazing ! So was the mac n cheese! The food was great. I feeel like for the price tho should have at least came with some corn bread. Service is fast and friendly. Not many tables so it gets crowded pretty quickly. I feel like I was over charged. I need to call the manager to make sure I wasn't over charged but overall the food was great and I'll definitely be back. Solid five stars. Great flavor and great home style cooking.

I've done Peking…read moreCuisine for years and shifted to Arco for my duck cravings, but if you're willing to drive out to Humble (pretty much anytime you're in the IAH area), you gotta check out Bamboo House for the best Peking duck. And their other menu items are fire as well! We went on a Sunday late evening. We had a 9 pm airport pickup at IAH so it was a perfect opportunity to grab a spectacular dinner and make the 30+ minute drive out to IAH totally worth it. Parking lot wasn't too full so that wasn't an issue. While the neighborhood ain't River Oaks luxury, it ain't too scary either. We kept it simple - ordered a whole duck and Bamboo House Special Noodle with Beef. This place ain't cheap but the food is worth every penny. It was very busy that evening so it's not a well-kept secret but also proves that eventually, Houstonians will figure out where the good food is. The duck was near perfect. They serve the duck with the pancakes (as opposed to the buns like at Arco) which is my preference. The soup that comes with it was also extremely flavorful. And the house special noodles with beef - oh my. I swear it's just one really long noodle so you may be frustrated trying to divvy up the family style bowl, but the labor is worth it. So good... Can't wait for my next airport run so I can sneak in a lunch or dinner at this place. So many other menu items I want to try!

I had previously visited the now closed Bamboo House on Westheimer and I remember being impressed by the food. I had to make an airport run and decided that it would be perfect timing to stop by this location. I highly recommend ordering the duck ahead of time, but we were lucky enough to snag one of the last ducks when we arrived around 7 pm on a Sunday evening. The waitress was super friendly and upbeat and the restaurant is older but well maintained. You can see where the food is being prepared/cooked and you can see ducks being cooked/warmed behind a glass window. The duck was absolutely spectacular with the perfect seasoned and tender meat accompanied by well rendered crispy skin. I love how the pancakes are paper thin and pair well with the scrumptious duck and other toppings. They also provide sugar and plum sauce as additional toppings which I thought was interesting but not my cup of tea. The duck soup was extremely flavorful and full bodied and went well with the duck. The noodles were also amazing with likely hand pulled noodles served with an abundance of tender beef and vegetables with a little Sichuan kick. I was intrigued by a strawberry chicken dish that I saw on the menu and I plan to try it the time. My diagnosis: hands down the best Peking duck in the greater Houston area!

Love Pappadeaux! Was…read moreleaving Houston and I had a long layover. I usually love to visit the restaurant when I'm in town but unfortunately has no time so I was super excited to try this location in the airport. Took the train over and was promptly sat when I entered. The menu is pretty extensive but I ordered the chicken and shrimp with French fries when a side of the dirty rice. Portions were huge and delicious. I was able to take some home back with me when I was boarding my plan. Even though it's in the airport, the restaurant has a family feel to it. I really enjoyed my visit and hope to come back!

Definitely a cool, relaxed atmosphere, especially for an airport spot. I was seated right away and greeted quickly. I ordered the crawfish étouffée and added a side of catfish. The catfish was really good, seasoned well, crispy, and came with tartar sauce and ketchup. The étouffée was a solid portion with plenty of crawfish and rice. I do think it could've used a little more seasoning, but still a good dish overall. Only downside was the service after ordering, it was a bit hard to get my waitress's attention, and I had to wait to order a coke. Overall, a good experience and I would recommend if you're passing through the airport.
