It's right on Canal Street, making it very easy to find. Once inside the restaurant, you'll find a very well designed establishment. The architecture and the layout of the space is very nice. They have numerous tables throughout the interior of the restaurant, plus they have a number of outdoor tables, if that is your preference. My problem with this restaurant pretty much began the moment we arrived. We walked through the front door and I looked for the hostess. She wasn't anywhere to be found. After standing there for several minutes, she finally arrived. She walked us over to a table near one side of the restaurant. Nice table. Everything looked fine. The problems then began. No server arrived. We sat there and we sat there but no help whatsoever. Finally, after we witnessed several people who had arrived after us getting service, and one couple even getting their food, I went up to the hostess and asked her if somebody was going to help us. Her response was, "Where are you sitting?" I pointed to the table that she sat us at. She acted surprised like she didn't know anyone was sitting there. She said she would go and find somebody to help us. I could see her at the far side of the restaurant telling one of the servers that he was supposed to come and take our table. You could tell that words were being exchanged between the two of them. But, whatever... A short time later, he arrived. The server was nice enough. No problem there. But, he acted as if we had just arrived. Due to the fact that we sat there for so long, however, we had already decided what we were going to order and what we wanted to drink. He took our order. When he returned with the beer I ordered, he brought me a Coors Light. I have not drank a Coors beer in decades. It's just not one of my favorite beers. The thing is, whatever I'm in a new city, I like to order a beer that's made in that geographic location. I had ordered a Abita beer but he brought me a Coors Light. Because the service had been so bad so far, I just let him leave the beer. Not a good drinking experience. A short time later, our meals arrived. In terms of taste, the food was fine. No complaints there. The presentation of the dishes at this restaurant, however, are minimal at best. They should/could really step up their game. After he delivered our food, I again ordered a beer. This time I was very specific about the beer I wanted to order. He just laughed it off that he had brought me the wrong beer initially. This time he did bring me the correct beer. Overall, again, this is a very well designed restaurant. And, for the most part, it looks like the staff takes good care of the customers. But, not always. I believe the management should really take a hard look at their staff, because all the time we were sitting there, waiting to be served, I could see that there were numerous staff members in the back just standing there talking, not helping anybody. What's their job? So, this is just my experience with this restaurant. Perhaps yours will be better. Hopefully!
