Got the chicken/sausage gumbo....SOOO good. The thickness, chunks of chicken/sausage, and spices were perfectly made together. Must try if you're in New Orleans!

We were wandering around waiting for the Halloween Parade to start and we decided to grab a snack at this spot. It's in a fairly busy, tourist area so we weren't expecting much. We decided to share a half of a shrimp po boy and a cup of gumbo. This really hit the spot. The shrimp were plump and fresh. Perfectly fried. The gumbo was plentiful, filled with meat and had great flavor. The place was poppin and there was not much room . We shared a common table. Anyway. We had a belly full in a live spot and enjoyed ourselves

The guys working the counter are nice. Everything is fried to order so it's takes 5-10 mins for you po boy to come out. You can enjoy a nice booze filled ice slush drink while you wait. My po boy was okay The doors were all open and it was 90F with a dew point of 75F so it felt miserable in there. Good people watching to be hand on a corner of Canal St

Came in for a quick bite because I really wanted to try Gumbo especially from New Orleans. A cup of gumbo with half a shrimp Po'Boy for only $20, I don't think was bad, considering it's right on Canal & Royal. The cashiers were not very welcoming but eh, it was only for a quick bite. Other than that the gumbo was amazing! I've had it before but New Orleans definitely makes it even better! The shrimp Po'Boy was also fantastic, I can't get enough of how well seasoned everything is! Absolutely incredible!

We were heading back from visiting the local superbowl events and were walking through, looking for a place to go and eat as it'd be a late dinner for us! This place seems to be new and the foot traffic seemed a little quieter in there so we decided to give it a try. The dishes we tried were the shrimp po boy and crawfish etoufee. Both were made fresh after us ordering yet service was super slow (in ringing a few of us and ordering food) yet im guessing they are a new place and are still figuring things out. Those who ate there, including us, seemed pretty content regardless of the food :) Given its location, menu, & food - this place has potential!

Bomb! This is authentic New Orleans cuisine. You may wait for a few but it's worth it.

In the restaurant business, we all have a switch: once the doors open, it flips. Until then, you're seeing people exactly as they are. This team is genuine. Hands down. Yes, I know, I'm technically here for a king cake. Standing in line for a king cake from a famous fried chicken company almost feels satirical. But watching the entire team sit down together for a meal an hour before service told me everything I needed to know about the leadership and the values of this company. People matter here. You can see why the sandwiches are as good as they are. You can feel why the king cake is worth the wait. This team operates like a family; kind to one another, intentional, and connected. The food is made with care because the people are cared for. I'm not here to review the food (which is phenomenal) or the king cake. I'm here to review the brand. This is the kind of business we should be proud to support as a community. Keep it up.

I also like that they feature a daily special that isn't on the regular menu--it adds a nice element of variety. Everything is cooked to order, which is definitely a plus. Just keep in mind that most of the menu is fried, so this isn't the place to go if you're looking for a particularly healthy meal.

Though pop-up showers were still lingering, my husband and I decided to take a gamble on courtyard dining--and I am so glad we did! Sheltered under the green umbrellas surrounded by historic brick walls, lush greenery, and rain-kissed citrus trees, the atmosphere was incredibly romantic and peaceful. The courtyard's intimate layout even brought a bit of extra magic to our evening. We sat near another wonderful couple (and their adorable daughter) and became fast friends, sharing laughs and conversation throughout the night. What truly anchored the experience, though, was the incredible service. The staff was remarkably personable, helpful, and welcoming. The dinner itself was excellent from start to finish, showcasing immense culinary skill across every dish. We started with the delicious brussels sprouts and a uniquely seasoned spring/summer gumbo that was unlike any version we've had before (oh, what I would give for the recipe). As for the entrées, the shrimp and grits were phenomenal, and the blackened catfish sandwich with a fresh salad was executed flawlessly...and the bread pudding was fantastic, too! It is rare to find an experience where top-tier hospitality, a breathtaking environment, and great food come together so (seemingly) effortlessly. Café Amélie is an absolute must-visit! We will be back.

We were a party of 3 adults and 2 children (one being only 2 years old), and because of that they changed our table type from a 4-top to a 5-top and made us wait an additional 30 minutes. Meanwhile, multiple tables became available that easily could have accommodated us, but the hostess was determined to keep telling us we had to wait. To make matters worse, there was open bench seating in the back where customers ordering to-go could sit. I offered to order food to-go so we could at least sit down and get started while waiting, and she told me if I did that they would remove our name from the waitlist because "you have to pick one or the other." No willingness to problem solve whatsoever. She repeatedly said she was "sorry," but her actions showed the opposite. I was simply trying to work together to find some reasonable solution instead of continuing to watch everyone else get seated while our family, including small children, kept waiting. Absolutely horrible customer service experience.
