Gunther Volvo has some amazing cars. I first seen a Volvo I liked at the car show in Miami a couple of weeks ago. Volvo has a great reputation and we have a dealer close to home. We visited the dealership and decided to get a Volvo. The 7 seat SUV did not have the premium leather I wanted but they had some hybrid ones and not knowing about the Hybrid feature before going in to dealership I test drove one and I did love it. I learned you can drive in the HOV lanes and free express lanes to Miami too. Also if you purchase the car you get the tax rebate which is a big plus. If you lease the leasing company keeps the rebate. Lots of great features and a cushiony chair extender. Comfortable headrests and some may love the optional converting booster seat. Definitely a nice car. The hybrid feature is excellent and much better than the ECO feature in more expensive cars. Very smooth. Another great feature is the lane assist and auto pilot. I did exchange recently for a different model and I don't love it like I did my previous car. The service center needs help. read more

If I could give a zero star, I would. Copy of email sent to GM on Monday evening and no response. Buyer beware. They are the worst!!! It's crazy how many bad reviews are being posted about their service dept and nothing is being done whatsoever!!!! They should be ashamed of themselves!! Dear Mr. Gunther, I hope this message finds you well. I'm reaching out directly because I recently had an extremely troubling experience with your service department at Gunther Volvo Delray Beach. As a loyal Volvo customer--this is my fourth car with your dealership--I was shocked by the way I was treated by the service manager and the service team, and I believe you deserve to be aware of what occurred. On October 13th, I brought my XC90 in for its first scheduled maintenance. Midway through the service, I received a text asking me to approve a replacement tire that I was told I had damaged. This was surprising, as my car had no issues prior to the appointment--no warning lights, alerts, or performance concerns. The next day, my hood began smoking. Your service department arranged for a tow truck to retrieve the vehicle from my office, forcing me to cancel my appointments for the day. I was eventually provided a rental car (an XC40). Over the following two weeks, I made numerous calls and sent multiple text messages to the service team and service manager, none of which were returned. My husband did the same. He actually spoke with Nyam who was supppsed to call him back in 30 mins. and never called back. When I finally heard back, I was informed that my vehicle needed a new radiator--less than 24 hours after leaving your service bay. When I picked up the vehicle, the service manager suggested a rock must have hit the radiator the day after service. This explanation, combined with the lack of communication, left me feeling completely disregarded as a customer. This experience does not reflect the standard of integrity and customer care that I have always associated with the Volvo and Gunther brands. Given the circumstances, I am respectfully requesting reimbursement for the tire I was charged for during this service visit. The claim that the tire was damaged prior to service is inconsistent with my experience, and I believe a goodwill refund is both reasonable and appropriate given the larger issues that followed. I would greatly appreciate your help in reviewing what happened and advising how we can resolve this matter fairly. On 7/30/23 I leased a Volvo XC90 from Gunther Volvo.. At the time I was disappointed that the term of the lease was only 2 years. But, I was told that this was the only option available and both the salesperson and the manager insisted that an additional 6 months was standard procedure and assured me that it would not be a problem. When the lease ended Volvo Financial would not honor the additional term. Lying should not be corporate policy. read more

5 Stars for an easy buying experience with Franco. We were looking for a used Volvo plug-in hybrid and found it online at Gunther Volvo in Delray. We live in Orlando, so had to communicate a lot with Franco to hold it for us until we drove down in our previous car. He was super responsive and kept us in the loop the whole time. When we arrived, Franco took us on a test drive of the car and then we sat down to sign papers. He didn't try to tack on extra fees or pull a bait and switch- he gave us exactly the price discussed. Beyond that, they are a Carmax partner and were able to quickly figure out the value of our trade-in vehicle. It was a higher value than we originally thought, so yay! Took the car in for 40,000 mile check up obviously they didn't close the valve for the oil and it leaked all over my driveway. They had to come get us and drive us home because the car is underivable no oil because it's all over my driveway they said they're gonna come clean it but nobody has come read more

Horrible service department. I brought my XC60 in for wheel sensors and a seat belt safety recall. I told them they had two full days before I left the state, and they assured me that my schedule was not a problem. They never called with updates. I had to chase them and then they didn't get the repairs done before I left. I had to have a friend pick up the car and the safety seatbelt recall was never done. When I contacted the Director of Customer Experience, he told me I had to contact the service department. I asked for the Service Manager's contact details and he didn't reply. Compliment to Service Representative Mike Glaser Last Friday I returned from a long trip and discovered that my Volvo XC60 wouldn't start. I suspected a dead battery and requested a friend give me a jump start. Once the vehicle was running, I called the service department of Gunther Volvo in Delray Beach, the closest dealership. Although I did not have an appointment, Mike told me to drive my car to the dealer without turning off the engine. I did as he instructed, and a couple of hours later, following diagnostic tests, my vehicle was fully operational, including a software upgrade and a car wash. Mike displayed significant professionalism, accepted my service request on a Friday afternoon when I didn't have an appointment and kept me informed while I waited. The absolute worst communication of any car dealer I have dealt with! I dropped my car off at 8am on Friday for a check engine light....didn't hear anything so I called back at noon and was told it might need a part for the gas filler tube and it would be ready in the afternoon. At 5 I had not heard back from anyone so I called and could not get anyone to answer the phone. Saturday morning I called to check the status of my repair since the link they sent was not updating the status. Again, multiple calls, nobody answered the phone. After the 4th call back I got the receptionist who was going to have a service advisor call me back to let me know what was going on with my car. Waited two hours and no call back so I called them again (three calls before I could reach a human). She tells me she didn't know anything so I would have to wait until Monday when Dominic my service advisor came back to work. I told her I could not go from Friday to Monday with no car! Could I get a loaner,,,she could not help and transferred me to someone who didn't even have their voice mail set up. Now I am stuck with no car for three days! Gunther Volvo of Delray is a place I will never go back to and will advise everyone I know not to use them. Poor communication, no customer service, their automated app does not work. She always has the best solution and she goes above and beyond to make the experience the best possible! She's even helped me resolve situations without even having to bring my car in. From sales to service they stink. My first time walking in the guy seemed nice. He showed me 3-4 cars. He tried pushing a floor model on Me telling me they lease better(last years model) I had my eyes on a S60 2024 but he kept tellling me the 2023 was the way to go. When i told him i was goi g to another dealership to test drive some other vehicles, his attitude changed. I asked him to write down #s on a paper for me and he wouldn't even do it. Told me it's pointless. I told him you play your cards right and you can get a sale. He never even called me back and later that day i bought a Volvo from coconut creek. Way better friendly service. All the things i asked, Michael just did it. Today my rear view mirror broke. I called and asked if i can just come in so they can clip it in for me. Eddie told me no and Wednesday was the soonest. I called coconut creek and what do you know, I'm on my way there now so they can look at it. This place just sucks in my opinion. Be very careful with this dealership. They offer and sell you an extended wear and tear that apparently Volvo has no record of. When returning my lease Volvo sent me a bill. I then proceeded to sent them a copy of my Wear and tear. They didn't accepted it because they have no record of that. Told me to contact the dealership who sold me the warranty. When trying to contact the dealership there are no help. My sales person was Brian Pavesi. The day of the sale he was super attentive. If I could leave a -10 star review I would!From the salesman to the owner, to the business manager, to the customer service manager - everybody lied to us about the price we paid for our vehicle and the price we were supposed to receive for our trade-in. Curtis Smith the salesman told me they were giving me $38,000 for our trade-in, then when all the paperwork was shoved in my face, it said 32,000. Then when I called back to ask about the discrepancy, I was told that no -$38,000 was the price for the vehicle we purchased! We were charged $11,679.65 for the difference for the vehicle which we bought and we were supposed to get $38,000 for the trade-in and the car was worth $38,000 that we purchased. So that would basically be a wash as far as the price of the vehicle we were bringing home with us, except for the price of the registration and license plate, etc. We were completely ripped off! I called the Better Business Bureau and I am retaining an attorney to handle this matter.! DO NOT EVER BUY A VEHICLE AT THIS DEALERSHIP! If I could give a zero rating I would. Had an issue with my XC40 back in July. I followed all of the instructions of the service team over the phone. Drove 5 hours to get to the dealership and experienced the WORST customer service in the world. Every service tech with the exception of one young lady were HORRENDOUS and all need to get trained in how to talk and treat a customer. The Service MANAGER and Sales Managers DO NOT RETURN CALLS. There is someone from what they call the "customer experience" team that calls and tries to help smooth things over - and even he didn't follow through. This place gives VOLVO the brand a bad name. First--if you want excellent customer service and to be treated like a human being, do not choose this business. I wish I could leave negative stars overall! As a warning--if you purchase a certified pre-owned Volvo they may put low quality tires on them which for my vehicle creates vibration above 70 MPH to the point my children feel like they are in a spaceship about to take off. CHECK THE TIRES! Definitely do NOT accept Atlas tires. Should be Pirelli or Continental. I've had several other tire techs review the tires they put on my vehicle and the feedback is consistently that the tires are the lowest quality that a Volvo can safely operate on. Nyam Smith, the Customer Service Director at Gunther Volvo along with Sales Manager Alex Yepes tell me they have my best interest at heart and that the tires are perfectly acceptable and "high quality" for a Volvo XC90. I've taken a year since the day after buying this vehicle trying to get them to do something about this and they played games with me non-stop. Finally, a year later, they are offering me Pirelli tires "at cost" for 1400+ --what a joke! It's disappointing that the standard car salesperson in the industry is manipulative, dishonest, and full of gaslighting tactics. Gunther Volvo's Sales Team follows along this unfortunate standard. Won't be suprised if they have to drop their Volvo partnership one day in the near future. To save yourself the heartache, I recommend NOT doing business with these individuals: Sales floor: Mario - he tried getting me to buy a VW and not the Volvo I wanted. When I came in to see the vehicle, he wasn't in the dealership yet, so another sales person assisted me and I began the purchase from a different sales person instead. When he saw this happening he got very nasty with me and was very nasty with me ever since. Steve - I purchased from him. He's a nice guy, but he's new. Give him a chance if your purchase is straightforward and you foresee no issues. He seems to have no pull and is not very assertive in solving a problem for you. When I wanted to address a thing or two he had two other sales guys come in, stand at my desk, to kind of do the whole "two against one" tactic which ultimately is to intimidate you and validate their behavior whatever it may be It may not completely be his fault, but my whole purchase experience was awful! The car was dirty, it stunk, all after waiting hours for it to be ready. I don't even want to relive that day. It was 8 hours + until I got my vehicle and it was not detailed and it was smelly. Days later I had to come back to get several things fixed that somehow were overlooked during certification inspection. Sales management: Alex Yepes - He will avoid you at all costs and ultimately send the Customer Service Director your way to let you know your problems are not his responsibility and he's done nothing wrong. Customer Service Director: Nyam Smith - Gaslights you all the way. Has no idea what a human-centered customer service approach should be. He will speak calmly, treat you like you're the one that is wrong for being upset about anything. I cannot say enough about how wonderful this dealership is. I had purchased two Volvo's from Gunther over the years, and then was recently in a car accident. I had to replace my most recent Volvo that I loved so much, and was limited in how much I could walk around because of an injury from the accident. Had ongoing problems with oil consumption that were not investigated thoroughly. Brought my car in three seperate times all with no true diagnosis other than to just "add some oil and drive it to see if it happens again". Dominick the service manager was a pain to work with. He kept giving me the run aorund, and even hung up on me and acted as though he couldn't hear me after I called him and it had been days without any update on my car. Horrible experience with the customer service manager, who is in need of some customer service training. My actual car purchase went fine, until I dealt with the customer service manager afterwards. I was given an IOU from them that they would purchase mud mats, but after my purchase, they decided they should give me $200 instead of $344, which is the actual cost of the mud mats. It's ridiculous that they would be so petty as to not honor the full amount of the items on the IOU. Between that and dealing with the customer service manager, it was not a good experience. read more

I just had my car serviced at Gunther Volvo Delray and the experience was totally unsatisfactory. I made a 7:30 AM appointment (first appointment of the day) so I could hopefully get reasonably quick service and not have to wait around too long, but it certainly did not work out that way. A "routine" service, including checking a few minor items that were working inconsistently, and for which they found nothing, and a car wash, took more than 3 hours. Then, when the car was finally supposedly ready, it was obvious that they either never bothered to wash the car or did one of the worst washes I have ever seen. I called my service person out and she totally agreed that they did a terrible job, so now I had to wait another 15-20 minutes for them to do what they were supposed to do in the first place. Whatever happened to customer service, or pride in your work - it does not seem to exist at this dealership. Horrible. read more

Welcome to the ' Good Ole Boys Club'! I went to this dealership, where I had leased my car. It was a very slow Saturday afternoon. My plan was to have a brief discussion with my service writer about new tires and brakes. Then go to the sales side of the facility and get information about a new lease. I pulled into the service area. I was on the phone with my youngest daughter. A person who came out of the inside garage area beckoned me to move my car up. I mentioned to him to wait a minute. He then very aggressively came up to my window and began shouting at me to move my goddam car. I asked him if I could leave it there for just a minute to see if my service writer was available. There was no one else near me and also no cars in the area. He scream at me to get out of the car. I left the car and went into the service office. The agitated young man moved my car about 3 inches and disappeared. While I was waiting my daughter, who I had been speaking to was desperately trying to reach me. She told me that the phone was still connected to the car, unbeknown to the agitated guy. He screamed" That goddam Fuc**** bitch wouldn't move her car". I spent the next hour trying to speak to the manager or anyone in charge about what had just occurred. Finally I spoke to a salesman who told me that he actually did not say it to my face, it was just ABOUT me! I sent an email to Joe Gunther who manages this dealership. No response. I left several messages for him as well as the "Customer Experience manager". After finally speaking to him he denied that I had ever tried to reach him and did not know anything about the incident. I gave him my daughter's phone number to verify what she heard. No one has ever called her or even called me to apologize. I am reaching out to a few local women rights organizations to lodge my complaint with them. This is how women are treated in this dealership. Terrible experience here. I bought my vehicle here for my wife, was going to pay cash and had agreed upon a price with the sales guy (confirmed via text). When I showed up to pay for the vehicle, the price "magically" increased $5k because the sales guy forgot to include certain line items in the "bottom-line" price. I brought this up to the finance guy (the person who informed me) and there was nothing else that could be done.
