Came in with a large group. Visiting family in New York, who frequent here often. Owners were super friendly and accommodating. Drinks were amazing. Every food entree that was ordered was delicious. We'll definitely return next year when visiting.

Service is very, very slow but when they are working with you they pretty much get your wants...but the cost is WOW...so when you get your bill- be ready their food is good-four stars

Found this place while I'm in these parts for the Eclipse, and boy was it a find! While we didn't end up sitting in a ski gondola (because we didn't want to wait too long), we still had a good time. The haddock fish fry (really, it's fish and chips with cole slaw) is really, really good. I got it battered and I swear it's better than what a lot of English pubs or seafood places can do. The fish is meaty, crispy, and cooked just right. The cole slaw is creamy and flavorful. Just, wow. We also got a buffalo chicken stromboli which tasted as advertised. Really gooey and good as well! Wish it would come with some greens (like celery, which is classic), but overall it was spicy but not overpowering due to the cheesy. Everyone enjoyed the food thoroughly, and their wacky eclipse themed drinks. The staff was clearly overrun by tourists but still managed to be really nice. I just wish we had gotten into a gondola on hindsight!

Food was good, took a while to come out, but everything was super hot. We were seated outside in a gondola, which the kids thought was super cool; inside the gondola is a blue tooth speaker and heater to use. Our hostess and server were very friendly. I went in the restaurant to use the ladies room. Inside was pretty packed, but there's definitely comfortable space between tables on the patio, and outdoor heaters as an added bonus.

We come here every time we are up. The food is good, they have plenty of seating and pickup options if you prefer take our. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Things we have tried: the wings (tastey), the mushroom burger (delicious), Doug's chili (a good basic staple), the grilled steak sandi (my fav/ so much meat), and some of the weekly specials including a delicious schnitzel

I lived in Dunkirk for several years, but the changes that they have made to the pier and boardwalk are really unbelievable !!!! Shops & restaurants and this gem!! Let me be very clear in saying that there are maybe three tables inside; this is definitely a grab and go restaurant . However there is a huge patio with many many tables even if they are full, which is doubtful, you could certainly grab a spot on the boardwalk nearby . We happened to have a beautiful night and we have an event to go to at SUNY Fredonia so a friend recommended this place . We waited about 15 minutes to place our order. After ordering we enjoyed our drinks out on the patio while we waited for our food. I opted for an alcoholic beverage while my son had a virgin piña colada. Our number was called maybe 15 minutes later and we were served absolute deliciousness. My son ordered the California, which was a delicious crispy fish sandwich while I opted for an Asian chicken wrap. Our food was absolutely delicious. Served just right. The food temperature was perfect and the portions were ample . The service was wonderful. If I ever come upon a beautiful night again in Dunkirk, I will definitely be visiting this place !!!!

The crust was similar to a Pizza Hut hand tossed but much better. It was cooked all the way through and the toppings were cooked perfectly. The second time the crust was overcooked on the outside, but undercooked on the inside. The pizza overall on the outside and all the toppings were overcooked, too brown, and it was dried out. So a dried out pizza with undercooked crust in the middle. This pizza would've been a one star rating. The first time we ate in the restaurant and were the first people in the restaurant for lunch to order pizza. Again, for the style it was an excellent pizza. The second time we ordered in the late afternoon takeout so that we could bring it back to our condo before the evening show at Chautauqua. My guess is the second time the oven was much hotter, so they could accommodate turning more pizzas more quickly. This made their product inferior by cooking it at too high of a temperature. The restaurant really needs to look for quality control, and consistency. Based on the number of good restaurants in the area, or more like lack there of, if they were more consistent, they could dominate the market.

If you've never been, Chautauqua is unlike anywhere we've traveled. It's a gated community on Chautauqua Lake filled with historic homes, beautiful gardens, walking paths, and a summer calendar packed with lectures, concerts, theater, classes, and other events. There's always something happening, but it never feels rushed. One of our favorite things to do is simply wander the grounds. Every street seems to have another beautiful porch, garden, or historic building waiting around the corner. We also love walking along the lake in the morning and ending the day with a concert at the Amphitheater. My biggest piece of advice? Don't overschedule yourself. Of course, attend the lectures and performances that interest you, but also leave plenty of time to explore. Some of our favorite memories have come from slowing down, sitting on a porch, or discovering another quiet corner of the Institution. I've included lots of photos because it's hard to capture the charm of Chautauqua with words alone.

Lovely grounds. Good cultura events (plays, operas, concerts)…read more I went during Climate Change week. The lecturers were knowledgeable and presented well. But much of what they said was preaching to the choir. This audience was already well versed in the perils of climate change. A ridiculous and hypocritical regulation was the restriction on entering any venue with a bag larger than 5X8 inches that was not transparent. This required thousands of people to acquire plastic bags and backpacks (many bought in the Chatauqua shops) all while hearing about the damage being done by overconsumption of plastic. What made the requirement especially outrageous is that if a number of items are placed in a plastic bag or backpack it's impossible to see all items inside so this was significantly less effective than the search of opaque bags usually done at theatres. The requirement was not always enforced. However, when a security guard refused me entrance because I had a canvas bag, I went back to my room and stuffed the entire bag with its contents info a plastic bag. I was then allowed to enter the amphitheatre with no problem. Ridiculous! The Chatauqua website is very user unfriendly. When I asked about submitting a suggestion to the management, I was given a sheet which directed me to a "link" to a survey. It was extremely difficult to find the link but when I did, I got a message that the survey had expired. The sheet of instructions also said that I would receive an email survey but that never happened. So I've been unable to convey these complaints directly to Chatauqua. The map of the Chatauqua facilities is extremely difficult to follow. Like the website, it seems designed to make new visitors to the Insitution feel unwelcome.

The food and drink are always exceptional. Whether you order off the regular menu or grab one of the specials, it's always exceptional. We've been several times now and gotten the cajun pasta, meatballs, fish of various sorts, crab rangoon appetizer, etc. Everything always comes out in a reasonable amount of time - never too fast or too slow - and is always solid. The cocktails are also on point with both the classics and a couple modern takes here and there. If I had to pick on anything (aside from trying to sell A5 Wagyu for $160 and claim it's breaking even), is the menu they put on their own website. The restaurant itself is beautiful with a great atmosphere. We did get quite a few stares from other patrons throughout the night, which made us feel a little out of place, but the owner was incredibly kind and welcoming and that didn't go unnoticed. My sister and I both ordered the steak, while my mom got the braised short ribs. I added lump crab to my steak, which I honestly could've done without. It came with a butter sauce, but the crab itself was dry and pretty lackluster. The steak was good, though my green beans were a bit too undercooked for my liking. The real star of the table was my mom's braised short ribs. They tasted like pure comfort food, almost like a really good pot roast. The gravy and mashed potatoes together were perfect. Overall, it was a good meal, but I think my expectations were just a little too high going in. I'd come back, but next time I'd be ordering the short ribs. 7.7/10
