Absolutely amazing! We saw this restaurant right here on yelp, and thought it looked interesting. I am thrilled that we gave it a try! Every aspect of our Gurumé experience was perfection! We arrived without reservation, and were lucky enough to be seated, even though it was very full...I recommend making a reservation, we got lucky. We were seated towards the back of the cozy narrow dining room and immediately greeted with a smile from the awesome waitress Cherry. She was very helpful and informative with the unusual tapas menu. We ordered a selection of items, and each dish was so good! Starting with the brussel sprout starter, which was crispy, bright and delicious. we then ordered tteokbokki, described as a rice cake, but much more like little bowl delicious rice gnocchi with a creamy chase sauce. We followed with jjambong gambas, a creative and tasty shrimp dish, and the seafood ramen, very spicy and a real treat. If you get a chance, do not miss out on this sweet spot. My husband and I came here for happy hour last night (6/2/26), and we loved it! They have a cute little outside eating area, then you go in through two doors, and then you will be greeted by people saying something, or, as we were, a friendly hello. The restaurant is elaborately decorated with beautiful pink flowers and greenery. We sat at the bar. The bartender greeted us and let us know it was happy hour, with $2 off cocktails, beer, and wine. I got their espresso martinis (actually, I got a second one when I finished it cause why not), and my husband got their mule, which had a nice piece of candy, ginger, and a light in it. We were only here for drinks and apps as we had dinner a couple of hours later. We went with the tempura oyster mushroom tacos (they are very mini) and the everything Ttaokboitti. We loved them both so much! The little tacos come with three, but they can add another for an upcharge. We just ordered another batch (they are mini) because they were so delicious. Came here before a show in the city. The place was packed but we had made a reservation before so we got right in. The service is a little bouncy, with the team changing in and out on tables and rushing around which makes it hard to know who your direct server is and how you can order additional items or check on your food. The food was incredible but keep in mind most are tapas style sizes so small and should be shared while you order a few choices. They ramen entree is plenty large enough for three. We ordered a Bom Spritz and Ddal Gi Mojito to start. They are good but very light on the drink and heavy on the ice. We started with the Everything Tteokbokki which is almost like a MacNCheese and then added the Berkshire Kimchi Fried Rice. Our entree was the Seafood Ramyun and you have to like spicy because it is on the hot side. We added a Birria Mandu at the end because we saw it on someone else's table and they said they loved it. We were happy with it but already super full so it didn't land as well. Our favorite dish from the meal was the Kimchi Fried Rice. Of the servers we had, Cherry was the nicest and she slowed down to talk to us and answer our questions. The interior has a lot of table in the main drag from the kitchen so not the most comfortable. Looking to try something different in the area, Gurume sounded so good, we thought we'd see if we can get a table at opening without a reservation. About 10 minutes before opening on a Saturday night there were some people waiting for the doors to open. Once we asked for a table, we were asked to step to the side so reservations could be checked in first. Luckily in a few minutes we were offered seats at the bar since they had full reservations that night. The bar was comfortable and the bartenders were great. I loved watching the cocktails being made and speaking of cocktails, they are excellent. The Bool included tequila, pomegranate and jalapeño; the other cocktail was a spritz of sorts and both were fabulous. The menu is Korean tapas, so we ordered a bunch of items to try. As each dish was served the server described the dish and even provided some instructions on the best way to eat it, if applicable. Tuna Tartare was quite good, the knife cuts were a bit inconsistent which was surprising given the level of everything, but the dish was still enjoyable; citrusy with crispy sunchoke chips. Oyster Mushroom Tacos were incredible. It didn't even feel like I was eating mushrooms. The tacos were so falvorful and balanced. If they ask you if you want to add a 4th taco to the dish, definitely say yes. Berkshire Kimchi Fried Rice served with a beautifully runny egg brought the spice and the dish was both elegant and homey at the same time. Just wonderful Birria Mandu served in a bone marrow consume was spectacular. Fried Chicken Wings, we opted for the sweet and spicy version served with kimchi daikon were sublime and addictive. They also provided a wet towel with the dish so you can clean up afterwards. Those 5 dishes were a good amount of food to feel satisfied, but we couldn't stop there and needed to try dessert. Do not pass up the Black Sesame Bread pudding, it was sublime. Served in a sizzling cast iron pan with candied almond slices and ice cream. It was so unique and really really delicious. Came here on a Wednesday around 5:00 to have dinner before a show. Able to get a table right away and the servers asked about our show time so that we would have plenty of time. It's a cozy little space that doesn't feel too dark or cramped thanks to soft lighting and mirrors. The food was amazing! We were fortunate enough to get a table here before our Broadway play. We arrived at 5:30pm and was out just in time for the 7pm show a couple of blocks away. Our server Caitlyn was so nice and very helpful in suggesting dishes for us. The staff is attentive and we never had an empty water glass. Absolutely stunning. I love the idea of getting multiple small plates and trying different things and it works really well with Korean food. The dishes here were creative, using Korean flavors as well as inspiration from other cuisines for a fun spin. The Mushroom Harvest Bowl, Snow Pea Salad, Birria Mandoo, Spicy Chicken & Cheese, Jjambong Gambas, Black Sesame Bread Pudding, and Dubai Chocolate Bungeo-bbang were all worth getting. The servers were super attentive and also mindful of the time for our Broadway show. I enjoyed my Jejudo cocktail as well. Only small thing is that our table had a glare from the sun for the first 20 minutes, they've could've definitely set us up better since we've made a request on Resy. Also on Resy, you can mark the occasion, such as if you were visiting family to have a birthday dinner or going out for an anniversary, but not sure if this establishment knows what to do with that. Found this spot right off the path of Times Square. Super nice interior and very inviting. We were a party of 3, got there when they opened at 5 and were seated right away. Our waiter Mario was excellent. Super friendly, attentive and even gave us complimentary cocktails. The drinks we ordered were excellent. Very spirit forward with good complex flavors. We got the Seoul mule (it lit up!) and the sojutini (packed a big punch!) We order a bunch of tapas off the menu and everything was delicious. Major call out to the scallop crudo which was my favorite. The flavors were unique and I'm not a novice to Korean food. Gurume instantly gave me the vibe of modern Asian fusion with a strong Korean influence, and wow--did it deliver. Our table ordered a variety of small plates, and several absolutely blew us away. The Brussels sprouts were unbelievably flavorful, the crispy corn cheese (adorable mini corn on the cobs!) was addictive, and the steak and potatoes--a tender kalbi flat iron steak with perfectly seasoned potatoes--was easily one of the highlights of the night. We stumbled upon this cozy little restaurant while we we staying in NYC over Thanksgiving week. Immediately read through the menu and had to try it out. They specialize in Korean style tapas and had a variety of fun cocktails. Each dish was absolutely mouth watering and incredible! It so sharp, zesty, and refreshing. Honestly, I've never had a scallop dish like this. It was Hokkaido Scallop with fermented chili broth, topped with pink pineapple, and Thai chilis. A very unique concept that paired super well. Our favorite dish was the Everything bagel Tteokbokki, which was out of this world. So cheesy, soft and chewy. Almost reminded me of a cacio e Pepe dish. Though I have many, many restaurants bookmarked in the Theater District, I do not go out of my way to dine in the area because it is pretty much a madhouse 24/7. I don't see broadway shows too often these days because they have become wildly expensive in recent years, but when I used to go more frequently I remember merely tolerating pre-show fare rather than appreciating it as its own experience. Fast forward to present day, which presents a culinary landscape with far more intrigue than years past. Gurumé certainly reflects this shift, as the concept could easily fare well in other neighborhoods. Gurumé offers an impressive array of Korean tapas, with options that will satisfying just about any taste and dietary preference/restriction. Add in super friendly staff and efficient service and you've got yourself a winning restaurant. We came here at around 9:15pm on a Wednesday night after seeing a 7:30pm show in the area that was a tight 80 minutes, no intermission. That meant that when arrived, there were only a couple of other parties in the restaurant given that pre-show diners had long since left and most post-show diners would not yet be out of their respective theaters. So the space was pretty empty for the first half of our meal (great for service, not as much for vibes), until the late dinner crowd began filing in. Overall, the space is relatively casual and feels warm and inviting. And, importantly, it does not feel tired or overrun by hoards of theatergoers and tourists, despite its proximity to Broadway. We got cocktails to start, taking advantage of their soju-forward cocktail menu. I got the Gam Gyul (Soju, Dry Vermouth, Citrus, Yuzu), a citrus-forward, gimlet-style drink that was very well-balanced. My partner and I then split a bottle of the Seoul Night soju, which was clean and crisp with subtle fruit notes. Food-wise, we tried to sample a little bit of everything without over-ordering, which is always a delicate balance. All small plates, though of course some are more filling than others. They recommend 2-3 dishes per person which I'd agree is a good approach. Across the board, the food was rich and flavorful, and had a lot going on while still being edited enough. Eats, below: Brussel Sprouts w/ Yuja Glaze, Chili Dust: A+ Some citrus, some spice, and tons of flavor. This is a powerhouse dish and a total no-brainer. Grilled Broccolini w/ Burnt Chili Doenjang, Tzatziki, Toasted Perilla Powder: A Another super flavorful dish with so much going on in the flavor profile. Herbal notes, smoky notes, spicy notes, with the tzatziki to smooth it all out. Tuna Tartar w/ Yellowfin Tuna, Citrus Shallot Cucumber, Crispy Sunchoke Chips, Fresh Wasabi: A+ A great complement to the warm dishes. Beautifully presented, bright and fresh, great combo of textures. Steak and Potatoes w/ Prime Galbi Flat Iron Steak, Crispy Confit Potatoes, Fermented Chimichurri: A+ Wow, there is a clear reason why this dish is lauded across platforms. I'm not even a steak person but this was outstanding. The steak was so juicy and flavorful and the chimichurri added a punchiness to the bite. The potatoes were heavenly, enough said. Jjambong Gambas w/ Beurre Blanc Colossal Shrimp, Spicy Seafood Foam Sauce, Chili Oil): A The steak was a hard act to follow so we were slightly less impressed with this, but this is all relative because it was still excellent. A completely unique preparation though I could've done with a tiny bit more spice. Beurre blanc is going to to even everything out, so it ended up being just a little spicy, mostly balanced, but I am a spice fiend and wanted more. A minor note for a very good dish. read more

Gurume was good for a last minute dinner and tasty korean-fusion tapas. The vibe is cozy with warm fairy lights and the service is casual but personable. The orange wine that we started with was good, but a little stale considering it was leftover from a bottle that was already opened (we saw them pour it from an open bottle). But it was still decent for the price we paid. My friend and I enjoyed ourselves the steak and potatoes, the everything tteokbokki, and the nurungi tang. The steak and potatoes were really good with tender well seasoned galbi and double fried, crispy potatoes. The tteokbokki was delicious and creamy with the rice cakes being the perfect texture. And to finish it off, the Nurungi Tang was a hearty seafood stew with a good amount of protein and soup to finish our meal. Considering it is a tapas place and you're expected to get 3 dishes each, it does get a little expensive especially if you're getting a glass of wine or a cocktail. We decided on 6 small plates and my wife added a couple of glasses of Pinot Noir. The soy garlic wings were some of the best we've had, texturally perfect! Couldn't imagine that they managed to be light and were perfectly sauced. The standout dishes were the chicken wings, the seafood kalguksu, the oyster tacos, and the scallop crudo (it was a bit salty but I thought it really worked). The okay dishes were the birria mandu (birria was a bit dry but consommé was so good) and the black sesame bread pudding (overall good although not really black sesame flavored, and I personally don't really like almonds which I didn't realize were in it). Made a last minute reservation for 2 before our Broadway show which was the best idea of the trip. Within walking distance of all the broadway shows, this is a great place to grab some drinks and bites to eat before or after a show. Their soju cocktails are delicious and not too strong, and you really can't go wrong with any of their bites. The bar tender was super helpful and nice, chatting with us here and there despite being super busy and giving us her recommendations which were all amazing. She even took time to explain how to eat the dishes for maximum deliciousness. I didn't really mind that part, mostly just thought the dishes were rather mediocre and were across the board too salty. If you're sensitive to salt, definitely don't get the birria mandu, as that was the saltiest dish of them all. I actually quite enjoyed the black sesame bread pudding. It seems to be a popular dish here, and I can understand why--the contrast of the warm bread pudding and cold ice cream works really well together, and the toasted almonds add a nice crunch. I stumbled onto this place when I saw a social media post that had a round up of the city's best black sesame desserts and it included Gurumé's Black Sesame Bread Pudding. Spoiler alert: it absolutely deserves to be on that list. But let's back up and start from the beginning. A friend and I met here and ordered a few of the Korean tapas. We ordered the Everything Tteokbokki , the Mushroom Harvest Bowl (probably my favorite dish of the evening) and the Jjambong Gambas. And it was all so fresh, flavorful and truly delightful. The Black Sesame Bread Pudding served piping hot with vanilla bean gelato and candied almonds - it's really such a great way to end a meal. The service was charming - we got served quickly, water refilled, checked in on and never felt rushed. And everyone was really nice. I will say the one thing I don't love (but note this is still a 5-star review) is the interior design - I'm really not vibing with the off-the-shelf neon signage with cute sayings and fake plastic plants. I get it - you want to be instagrammable and cute - but your food is SO good, make the decor match the food (but i'm being nitpicky here) In general, I'm never overly thrilled with a restaurant that's on Restaurant Row - but this place beat expectations. read more

We made reservations for Gurumé as a party of 4 after hearing some nice reviews about this place. The interior atmosphere was a nice cozy setup and it was quite packed with customers. We were aware of the portion sizes being small, however they were a lot smaller than anticipated. For every dish, each person was able to taste a singular bite. Food still tasted good regardless and our drink had a nice flavor as well. We ended up going to another restaurant and eating a full course meal afterwards cause we were still very hungry afterwards. The menu is straightforward with some crafted cocktails and other Korean alcohol and some finger food/tapas to share. All the soju based cocktails were delicious and so refreshing! Easily one of the best meals I've had! It was packed so definitely make a reservation. From the moment we sat down, we were asked if we needed to catch a Broadway show (in case they could fast track or prioritize our orders I think!). Everything on the menu looked good and so we ordered every veggie dish on the menu and asked for one of the rice dishes under the meat section to also be made vegetarian, which they were able to accommodate. Mushroom harvest bowl, asparagus, brussel sprouts mushroom tacos, and bread pudding were all very satisfying! Tteokbokki was more like a cheesy tangyuan but still a fun and inventive take. I came here with two of my friends and our bill was pricey but it was really worth it because every dish was mouthwatering. It does get busy here on the weekends, perhaps even weekdays too due to the area but I can see why they get a crowd. The food is amazing! read more

A little tight on the space but 5/5 service, food, and drinks!! Great ambiance for a night with friends or for a casual date. I actually liked the non-alcoholic drinks better and finished them in like 4 sips.. Jejudo was my absolute fav. Please get a variety as they are tapas, and so that you can just try a bunch too!!
