We love Gus's Grill! Have been here twice for Breakfast while visiting LaGrange and will be back the next time we are in town. The service is fast and everyone is very friendly. A diner that stops serving breakfast on a weekend? Definitely a disappointment. And Southern hospitality? I think not. We asked about grits- as my husband is from Savannah and we live in CO, he typically gets grits anytime we are in the south. The waitress looked at us like we had 3 heads and said something to the effect of "Uh no. No grits. We stopped serving breakfast" mind you, she had just taken the breakfast menu out of our hands and said "We're serving lunch now"...Super greasy patty melt and the chicken gyro came out as a whole chicken breast... we thought it would have been sliced at the very least. read more

I was passing through LaGrange on my way to judge a BBQ Contest. I was looking for breakfast and Yelp cameto the rescue again! Guss's Grill is quaint and full of energy and local customers. The conversations I overheard let me know that I was probably the only person here who wasn't a regular. The staff were pleasant, helpful and on point. I ordered the signature Guss's Skillet. I enjoyed it and felt like it was a good value. Major points for bringing me the real deal when I asked for Tobasco sauce! If you are looking for a place like this, stop in and enjoy. read more

Eh, okay I guess. Food was so so. I still have left overs in the refrigerator that need to be trashed. The absolute worst part of this meal was the lady scarfing down her meal right outside the kitchen in the service/ drink area. We watched her until she was done eating. This has got to be unsanitary! Found this place while exploring for a place to eat breakfast and I'm glad I did: it is cheap and the food is good. One thing: its important to know what this place is not. It is not, "gourmet" or fancy in any way. It is a small town cafe which serves up good food for a good price. The service is pleasant, and they are diligent about re-filling your coffee which one cannot say about all places. The waitress asked me if I wanted hash browns or grits (pronounced "gree-uts"). I opted for hashbrowns but I am sure they make good grits as well. read more

Just a tiny place that you could drive by one hundred times and not notice. This has become one our favorite places to go for lunch when we are in town. Service is always good, and staff is always welcoming and friendly. A combination of great food and great service is what makes us return regularly. If you like Greek gyros, try theirs! They make a fantastic cheese steak sandwich, and the burgers are great as well. They also serve a wide variety of sandwiches, and you won't walk away hungry or disappointed. read more

Love Gus's Grill. It was a while after we moved here before we tried it, but it's since become a treasured regular place for us, usually at least once a week. What can you say? Good, solid, tasty diner food, simple and well prepared. Their burgers rock, they are not the huge half pound ones that overly fill you up, and the taste of the meat is very good. Great gyros too, and the best breakfast I've found around here, their hash browns are amazing, freshly grated potatoes make all the difference. Help is friendly as well, Denise, Gus's wife, is a delight, and they recognize their regulars and always greet everyone with a smile. Restaurants like Gus's are a vanishing breed sadly, it's getting harder and harder to find good, honest, affordable diner food, and we in LaGrange are lucky to have Gus's. This restaurant should have a sign that says "whites only". I was looking for a place to have breakfast with my daughter. The sign states to take a seat. We waited for service but no one came to our table. Once a white gentleman came and sat at a table in front of us, the waitress came to his table to serve him. She didn't acknowledge me at all. She asked for his drink order and avoided eye contact with me. If my table wasn't her area, she should have acknowledged I was there and that another server would be with me shortly. Nothing at all. Love Gus and his wife Denise, who both cook at the restaurant! Well it really is more of a great neighborhood diner. My wife and I have been eating here for over 5 years and finally getting around to letting the secret out. Hobo skillet is our standard go to. Gus boils the potatoes and then shreds them, throws them on the flat top grill, which is then covered with Swiss and American cheese and scrambled eggs. Add a crisp side of bacon and coffee to the mix!!! What a great thing it is!!! Do yourself a favor and come in! Bring a newspaper, relax, catch up with your traveling partners, whatever! Our now five year old son's hand tracing is up on the wall along with lots of other amateur art and Greek flags and post cards from everywhere people send to Gus and Denise! What a great find for breakfast! Small mom and pop place with funny corny signs, license plates and such as decor, center counter and tables all packed with happy customers. Great service and a not too big menu of breakfast goods. I had the fresh spinach and feta cheese Greek omelet and was very happy with my choice. The food is amazing at Gus's Grill but lately getting your food Togo is not an option. We used to love ordering Gus's Togo on the weekends but for the past several months the restaurant has refused Togo orders over the phone because they "are way too busy for that"... this has happened at least 6 times when we've called recently and sadly we won't be calling any more. Considering that there are plenty of restaurants in LaGrange that will not only gladly take a Togo order but have probably partnered with food delivery services like JackRabbit as well. Get it together Gus's Grill, y'all need to be able to process in-house and Togo orders. read more

Excellent breakfast. You're typical "greasy spoon" but an added Greek flair (like feta cheese added to your scramble... yum!) Food was fresh and you can tell they take pride in what they serve. Potatoes were different in a good way and also made fresh. My only criticism is on the service. When we walked in we stood there awkwardly not sure if we seat ourselves or wait to be seated. I tried to flag down a waitress because they didn't make eye contact. My waitress was friendly but a bit forgetful and I finally had to get my own Splenda from another table. Then I sat for quite a while waiting for a ticket. Other people had tickets brought to the table so I waited and looked around. I finally walked to the register and she said my ticket was there, like "duh." Patrons don't like to feel confused, forgotten or doing something wrong. Maybe some consistency in the processes for seating and paying would help. We'll return maybe today was just an off day for service. But again, good food!!! read more
