I had the cauliflower pita (fried cauliflower with tahini, hummus, tomato, cucumber, lettuce, and pickle), and J. had the baba ghanouj sandwich (with tomato, cucumbers, and lettuce). Lake Forest Park Shwarmara! Yay! Other family members had tried Gyro Boss Mediterranean Grill recently and recommended we go there for a quick lunch so we did. We had the most pleasant encounter with the man behind the counter. I think his name was "Mo"? He was super friendly and remembered my wife and daughter from a previous visit. He comped us one lentil soup and some roasted cauliflower which was super nice. I love the lentil soup here, it's thick and flavorful. I had the Lamb & Beef Shawarma, my wife had the Chicken Shawarma and our daughter had the Falafel Salad and a couple of lentil soups. I tried a falafel and it was perfectly cooked (crispy on the outside and softer on the inside. Very similar to a hush puppy!). The shawarma plates came with a small Greek Salad and some wonderful hummus with kalamata olives and oil and the meat over some wonderful yellow rice. Sooooo yummy! Delicious Mediterranean food from Gyro Boss! Located inside the Town Center at Lake Forest Park next to Honey Bear. We had the Gyro Sandwich and Special Gyro Fries, both came with generous amounts of sliced lamb & beef. The garlic sauce on the fries gave it a little extra something and the fries were nice and crispy to hold up its toppings. I was very pleased that the gyro meat was shaved off the spit and served piping hot. I've had it at other places where the meat was either cold or lukewarm. They know what they're doing here! Service was friendly and prompt. It was a busy day at the Town Center. We went around around 1 pm on a Saturday and most tables were occupied, but we were able to snag a seat at the counter. Worth the hype, the guys here are super friendly and the food is bangarang. From the falafel to the kebabs to the HUMMUS (my god the hummus), it's all so juicy and flavorful. Just to note the yellow rice has whole cardamom pods in it as that's very traditional but be careful of those landmines if you're not ready for a big pocket of spice! My go-to here is the combo kebab plate with beef+chicken which also nets you their god-tier hummus and some pita to make your own little wraps if you want. But everything is great. There were two employees hustling- putting meals together for customers. The manager was working so fast also but with a smile and the best greeting ever. The energy of this gyro shop was great! We ordered a Falafel wrap to share. It was very good and we absolutely loved it. And would even drive out of our way to try more on the menu next time. It comes with crispy falafels, dolmas, roasted cauliflower (also so good!), salad, hummus, baba ghanoush, and pita bread. So much food, and super delicious. My favorites were the falafels and cauliflower. This was a great 2 meals for me for a good price. I loved their hot sauce, I recommend asking for some. The staff were great! Friendly and patient. Everything I saw was clean and nothing caused any alarm or question. The menu is fairly easy to read and understand. I ordered the hummus plate with beef/lamb. If there was anything I'd have to say...I need more bread to go with that plate. The bread itself was delicious! The amount of hummus is very generous. The portion ratio of meat, veggies, and hummus is very well balanced. I also ordered a side of garlic sauce, which is a small 8oz. (?) tub. No bread came with that. I usually have garlic sauce on my plates, bowls, or gyros. The sauce was good, but could be a bit more punchy with more garlic flavor. Some places have a serious garlic kick with their sauces that I love. Then again...those are more of a garlic paste or butter. The drinks are separate and on the side for you to grab from the display. All in all though...definitely satisfied. read more
