What a great find! This restaurant in Lake City has amazing Mediterranean food. We had the appetizer combination and kebab combinations to go. And we'll definitely be back. The food here is really good. The flavors are some of the best in town, the pita is crisp and buttery, and the meats are perfectly seasoned. Even the rice is fragrant and delicious. The price is reasonable, not super low but not too high either. The only downside is there's only ever one guy who works here all the time, so it takes a long time to get your order and I don't always have 20+ minutes to kill to get take out or else I'd be here every day. Got Lamb Shawarma, the spices and the overall presentation was good, but the portion is WAY too small for an $11 entree. Also, the lamb was pretty tough and dry, and I'm not usually the one to complain and having to chew meat. Could use more salt or savory sauce too. Overall, a nice clean whole-in-the wall spot, just not as fabulous it is hyped to be. The owner and other workers are very nice and friendly, so I hate to leave it 3 stars, but I'm basing it by the food only. The Greek Fries were basically crinkle cut fries from the frozen section of a grocery store with almost NO feta or tzatziki sauce on it. Not to mention they weren't crispy at all. This tiny lil joint is great for food to go. Prices are very reasonable and the food is fresh and awesome. I stopped by to take out a falafel sandwich. The sandwich came with three Falafels that were fried fresh right in front of us. I asked for it to be spicy and they added some green chili paste. The stuffing included the usual fatoush salad and tahini sauce and some spices. One complaint though - the girl at the counter wrapped the sandwich in a paper first and then the whole thing in a foil. While it is a great option to prevent the sauces from leaking, when I opened it after a couple of hours, the paper was soggy and had stuck to the sandwich and was a pain to unwrap. Make sure to ask for just the foil, when you order. On the whole, the falafel was excellent and I will stop by whenever I pass by. read more

We have tried nearly all Gyro places north of the cut, and nobody comes close to quality, price, and service. Having said that LCG is not abysmal or inedible. The interior is really small and not that nice. I normally don't nit pick on interior, but honestly it could be spruced up a tiny minimal amount - walking in there doesn't whet your appetite. Food itself is fairly average. Owner is nice and friendly and seems committed to serving customers though. Do I go back? Probably not. Better off going to Taki's. If Taki's is too far, then delivery via UberEats is an option. We have delivered from them several times and food still comes in warm and fries crispy. It works. read more

I have just recently moved to Seattle, and knowing those small but fantastic spots to eat have been harder then I would have thought. So I always like small spots like Lake City Gyro's. This restaurant is realllly good the only and I mean only thing that is negative about this place (also why they didn't get a 5 star rating from me) is that all their wraps are really dry. Meaning...they give a lot of meat in the wraps and without the extra side that I have come to realize MUST be added, I don't like to eat the wrap I end up picking it apart because it needs sauce :( Problem solved with an extra side of their awesome hummus. However if you have read this, and you are going there follow my advice and your in for a cheap but fantastic meal. ORDER THIS: Falafel wrap. EXTRA SIDE OF HUMMUS. Preggy craving for the evening = Gyros The hubby picked up a couple of gyros for dinner, along with 2 orders of fries. He ordered the traditional lamb/beef, and I the chicken. He wasn't impressed, but said it was ok. I really enjoyed my chicken gyro although, I know they didn't cook the chicken on the stick they use for the lamb. It was chunky pieces of chicken breasts that were heavily seasoned and mixed with onions and crisp lettuce. The size of both were decent and the pita was warm and chewy. I could have used a bit more sauce, but I'll remember that for next time. The fries came in small brown paper bags and were crispy and crinkle cut. I thought the portion was small for the price. Total for 2 gyros, 2 fries (think McDonalds Small) was about $17 and some change. This place is close to home so I'm sure we'll try them again when the preggy craving hits (it surely will). read more

If you happen to walk down on Lake City Way and have a hunger for some tasty gyros and such, there's a cute hole in the wall place called "Lake City Gyros." The place itself is small with limited dining tables and for parking, it's going to be mostly street parking since the restaurant is located on the main road. Overall, I was a bit let down by the food. Despite the many glowing reviews of the place, one thing that struck me the most was the level of cleanliness exercised at this place. As I watched my gyro + salad + appetizer combo being made, the cook (who was the only person present), handled the food preparation, cash and getting supplies using the same gloves. To some, this wouldn't be a big deal however, it does pose a health concern. If you handle cash (which could be infested in germs and such) and then directly reach for a fresh hot gyro to stuff meat/supplies inside of it without changing the same gloves, that would be a bit iffy yes? The set up of the place allows people to see what the cook does openly so it's cool at the same time to see your food being made but a bit irking to see how it's being handled. As for the food itself, the gyro was very tasty. The sauce used was savory and light and for the portion you get, it was pretty decently priced. As for the salad and appetizer combos, these were so so. The appetizer combo consisted of the popular items (hummus, falafel, etc) and it was served rather cold and lacked any real taste to it that would make the dish memorable. As for service, the cook was very friendly and outgoing. There is a fair amount of traffic that came through here when I visited, so expect a wait if you're going near peak dining time or late night food. Would I come back to this place? Maybe but in the surrounding area, Aladdins (U-District), Gyro Hut (Northgate) are pretty good competitors when it comes to serving gyros and such. read more

This is definitely one of those place that I am completely stuffed half way through my meal but its so good I just want to keep eating. My little brother and I stopped by here for some lunch. I got the chicken gyro (extra onions!) and Beau got the gyros (extra onions- copy cat). Each got a side a fries with tzatziki sauce. Beaus beef/lamb combo was freshly sliced in front of us. They packaged it up nice and it was still piping hot when we got home. I thought the pita was amazing, it wasn't too thick, and everything was perfectly cooked. Nothing over done or undercooked. We were looking for a spot close to home and came across Lake City Gyro, which was close enough. This is such a hole in the wall place and definitely something to give a try if you're looking for shawarma or gyros. Upon entering we were the only one in the shop and we were greeted immediately and ordered a few items to share. We went with a gyro (sandwich version), greek fries and a shawarma plate. During our time here we should a few people come in and order to go, looks like a spot that is very popular with the locals who want a bite to go. What better way to start the new year, than to write a review about a great place! First of all, the owner is really nice. He bought the place from Malek early last year, and has actually made the gyros even better. So, what do I like here? Well, the gyros of course! In my opinion, the gyros he makes here are one of the top two in Seattle. What makes them so good? I'm glad you asked. :-) Part of it is that he uses Kronos gyro meat, which I have learned over time has the best quality and taste. Then, he grills it with just the right amount of onions to make it pop, before packing it into a pita with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and tzaziki sauce to make a tasty, juicy gyro that is packed with delicious meat. It seems they have raised their prices quite a bit, but I noticed how small the portions were and low quality of food. This was one of the worst gyros I've ever had. The meat was overdone on the grill and dry, the pita was almost stale and the sauce had no flavor. Also the wait was quite long with no other customers ahead of me. Beef/lamb gyros- perfectly seasoned, crunchy pieces of meat, wrapped in a warm/grilled pita with salad, chunks of tomatoes, and excellent sauce. Portion is big, fresh, and satisfying. I always order hot sauce (house made) that is absolute perfection in hotness- sharp, but short lasting. Also, I sampled their falafel and it was excellent to the last bite. It is crisp, but soft on the inside with perfect balance of spices. It is served on a bed of lettuce with lots of garlic inspired sauce, side of hummus and topped with a bit of sumac. Hummus was delicious just like everything else and there was no doubt in my mind that it was house made... Excellent and friendly service. Came here on a Friday evening and was greeted by the friendly owner. I got the gyro with greek fries and my girlfriend got the gyro salad. Both were very delicious and the gyro had the right amount of sauce for my taste. Other gyro places like to over do it on the sauce and drench it. The greek fries were excellent with feta. Since it is a one man show, the owner works hard to make your food, clean the tables, etc so please be patient. I know I will return for the delicious food and I recommend this restaurant. read more

If you are having a hard time finding it, its a few doors north of the back door pub. They make one of the best Gyros I have ever had. Mmmmm Döner . I just had one a few hours ago and I could seriously go for another right about now. I get the hummus as a side every time. They warm up the pita on the griddle which is a nice touch.
