    Gyro Sandwich
    Lindsey C.

This is one of our favorite pit stops on our walk to Hellbent brewing! Their gyro sandwiches are fantastic. I have also tried their shawarma and chicken sandwich and it was equally as good. The food always is ready very quick and they are very friendly/helpful!

Excited to see what the hype is about!

So happy I found this gem. Super easy to find. The owner was very friendly & welcoming when my friend & I walked in. Growing up in Germany, gyros was always one of my fav dishes! I can't tell you how this lamb gyro made me feel lmao it was the best I have had since moving to the states, their tzatziki sauce is probably the best I have ever had! The restaurant was a little small, very clean kept. The food was just amazing! I definitely recommend.

First time ordering from here even though I live 1 minute away! Thought I'd try it based on the great reviews. Got Lamb Shawarma, the spices and the overall presentation was good, but the portion is WAY too small for an $11 entree. Also, the lamb was pretty tough and dry, and I'm not usually the one to complain and having to chew meat. Could use more salt or savory sauce too. Overall, a nice clean whole-in-the wall spot, just not as fabulous it is hyped to be. The owner and other workers are very nice and friendly, so I hate to leave it 3 stars, but I'm basing it by the food only. Probably won't be back again, the Aladdin in U-District was way better from what I can remember.

    Falafel sandwich in the making

This tiny lil joint is great for food to go. Prices are very reasonable and the food is fresh and awesome. I stopped by to take out a falafel sandwich. The sandwich came with three Falafels that were fried fresh right in front of us. I asked for it to be spicy and they added some green chili paste. The stuffing included the usual fatoush salad and tahini sauce and some spices. One complaint though - the girl at the counter wrapped the sandwich in a paper first and then the whole thing in a foil. While it is a great option to prevent the sauces from leaking, when I opened it after a couple of hours, the paper was soggy and had stuck to the sandwich and was a pain to unwrap. Make sure to ask for just the foil, when you order. On the whole, the falafel was excellent and I will stop by whenever I pass by.

Food 2/5 Service 4/5 Location / access / 2/5 Value 2/5 I still have yet to find a place that makes a better gyro sandwich and better greek fries than Taki's Mad Greek. We have tried nearly all Gyro places north of the cut, and nobody comes close to quality, price, and service. Having said that LCG is not abysmal or inedible. The interior is really small and not that nice. I normally don't nit pick on interior, but honestly it could be spruced up a tiny minimal amount - walking in there doesn't whet your appetite. Food itself is fairly average. Owner is nice and friendly and seems committed to serving customers though. Do I go back? Probably not. Better off going to Taki's. If Taki's is too far, then delivery via UberEats is an option. We have delivered from them several times and food still comes in warm and fries crispy. It works.

Reviews are spot on! 1. Service is Amazingly Friendly. 2. Food is Tender and Plentiful. 3. Reasonably Priced 4. Sample your Meat as you Wait. 5. Many Options to Choose from. My Fiancé and I tried the Combination Kabob Entree and a Lamb & Beef Gyro "Wrap". The Lamb Kabob and Gyro were my favorite! Tender, Juicy and Flavorful! I wasn't a fan of the chicken kabob. It was little too dry for me but so far, Lake City Gyro is my top choice when I am craving Greek. TIP: Keep in mind, it is a very small restaurant with limited seating and street parking. I'd recommend ordering take out, eating curb side or with a small group.

    The best Baklava ever.

I have just recently moved to Seattle, and knowing those small but fantastic spots to eat have been harder then I would have thought. So I always like small spots like Lake City Gyro's. This restaurant is realllly good the only and I mean only thing that is negative about this place (also why they didn't get a 5 star rating from me) is that all their wraps are really dry. Meaning...they give a lot of meat in the wraps and without the extra side that I have come to realize MUST be added, I don't like to eat the wrap I end up picking it apart because it needs sauce :( Problem solved with an extra side of their awesome hummus. However if you have read this, and you are going there follow my advice and your in for a cheap but fantastic meal. ORDER THIS: Falafel wrap. EXTRA SIDE OF HUMMUS. Now read carefully this part is important, debating if I should even tell you this part....okay I will ***MUST TRY BAKLAVA***** that part is serious. I go in there for just them. I'm seriously addicted to these!!!! Their amazing seriously the best dessert I've had in ages. You can thank me later

Shawarma Plate, Gyro and Greek fries!
    Jennifer K.

I had been talking about gyros for days we was finally able to get my craving satisfied at Lake City Gyro. We were looking for a spot close to home and came across Lake City Gyro, which was close enough. This is such a hole in the wall place and definitely something to give a try if you're looking for shawarma or gyros. Upon entering we were the only one in the shop and we were greeted immediately and ordered a few items to share. We went with a gyro (sandwich version), greek fries and a shawarma plate. During our time here we should a few people come in and order to go, looks like a spot that is very popular with the locals who want a bite to go. Our favorites were the greek fries and the shawarma but the gyro could give other places a run for their money as well. Everything was so yummy and definitely satisfied my craving!

    Gyro $6.49 plus tax = $7.14! Excellent!

Filled with corporate slop bowls to fuel up tech bros, you won't find a decent meal anywhere on this side of the lake. But Tanoor is kind of like that special someone who has been there your whole life but you've always looked past for greener pastures. This restaurant was staring me right in the eyes for years, and I didn't realize how magnificent it was until today. When you walk in you are greeted by warm, fresh and fluffy pita. Guess what, IT COMES WITH THE MEAL! Everyone knows I'm a sucker for some free bread. But don't let these Lebanese pillows fill you up, the dip marathon has just begun. The menu here is unlike anything I've ever seen. You can get lost trying to figure out what to order for lunch, so I would advise consulting the waitstaff for guidance through this delightful maze. I just looked on their menu to figure out what the fries that I ate were called, and I can't find them for the life of me. But they had their own incredible dip completely covering them. At one point we had 4 different dips on the table, and I'm not sure how they got there. 1) The dip on the fries 2) Spicy hummus (not that spicy, incredibly tasty) 3) Za'tar that comes with the pita 4) Yogurt sauce that came with the Kabob combo Everything comes with something else here. And since I was having an electric conversation with my good friend, I sort of lost track of everything that we ordered. But if you love dipping things in other things as much as I do, you will love Tanoor!

OKAY - fair warning - NO BOOZE HERE :(…read more I was meeting four people I had never met before the night before we were all heading off on a 10-day cruise, so the pressure was ON. I had to pick a place everyone would enjoy, and, ideally, somewhere we could actually get a reasonable-hour reservation. After a few rounds of back-and-forth, we settled on this place. It was a bit of a walk from our hotel, but no biggie. The restaurant itself is charming, and the hot, fresh pita breads coming out of the oven were a very good omen. The rest of our party arrived, and we were seated toward the back of the room. At first, I noticed a little door literally right next to our table and thought, "UGH, the bathroom is on top of us." Nope. It was a prayer room. So... fine. Then BAM, the bad news. We wanted to order cocktails, and they don't serve any alcohol. WHOOPS, my bad! But honestly, how often do you come across that scenario? A nice restaurant that takes reservations, has a full dinner menu, and serves absolutely no booze. I clearly missed that detail when I made the reservation. Fortunately, the food more than made up for my cocktail disappointment. It started with the fresh pita and some kind of crack oily/herby dip they served with it. If they sold this stuff by the bottle, I would have bought some. Seriously, it was unbelievable. I could have made a meal out of the bread and dip alone - and who is saying I didn't?. My man and I split a mixed meat platter. I honestly can't remember everything that was on it because I was trying to pay attention to getting to know the people I was about to spend 10 days cruising with. I do remember that everything was quite tasty, well roasted, and that the pork was my favorite. So, come for the food, the fresh pita, and that ridiculously addictive dip. Just know before you go: you will not be ordering a cocktail with dinner. But more good news, is that the bill without alcohol will be cheaper.

I arrived 20 minutes before opening and was first in line. One friend joined me 10 minutes later. At 5pm it was just the two of us, so I asked for a table for 4 and explained that I'd happily order food and drinks for everyone immediately, even though the rest of the group was still fighting the weekday traffic. The hostess refused, so we stepped aside. 2 minutes later our 3rd friend arrived. I asked the group behind us if they minded us getting back in line. They laughed and said it was no problem because they had just had their 3rd person arrive as well. When I got back in line, the hostess deliberately skipped over me and called the next group instead. After seating them, I stopped her and asked for a table for 3. She asked if it would "really" be just 3. At that point I honestly didn't know. Our 4th friend was driving from Everett and had texted that she was stuck in standstill traffic. I said yes, seat the 3 of us. The hostess told us to wait while she seated yet another group, taking the last indoor table. We were then placed outside on a hot day. Despite how the evening started, I did exactly what I'd said I would. We ordered dinner for the entire group, including 2 bottles of wine to avoid inconveniencing them with making drinks. Then, incredibly, the hostess came back to our table and removed the 4th chair to make absolutely sure our last friend couldn't join us if she arrived. It felt petty, unnecessary, and frankly embarrassing. What should have been a joyful reunion became a stressful experience because of one person's rigid and unwelcoming attitude. The food was equally inconsistent. The labneh was extremely sour and came with cold, slightly stale pita. The squid & lamb were overly salty. The kohlrabi with peaches was so aggressively smoky that we left almost the entire dish untouched. The mushrooms were fine. The grilled pork was excellent and easily the highlight of the meal. The cod was just okay, and the desserts were average. We spent ~$500 for the meal. People don't spend this kind of money just for the food. The price reflects the entire experience, and that's where this restaurant failed. The service felt cold, impersonal, and overly focused on rules instead of hospitality. Rather than making guests feel welcome, the hostess made us feel like a problem she had to manage. I've had warmer, friendlier service at fast food restaurants. I won't be returning, and I took the time to write this review because no meal, especially one marking such a meaningful reunion, should be overshadowed by such an unnecessarily unpleasant welcome.
