A nice Greek place in Shoreline area. Always enjoy the Mediterranean/Greek food. I am glad that I stopped by this place for pick up the lunch that day. They've got a great spot in the shopping center. Easily accessible and convenient parking near by. This place was busy when we walked in - most of the customers were waiting to take out the food. Handful of tables occupied. We were helped by Omar that day - very friendly guy and super helpful. Ordered Chicken Shawarma Wrap, Burger & Greek fries and Mixed Veg Sandwich. Wait time was about 15-20 mins with a lot of Customers waiting. The food was really great. The flavors were really amazing. Loved the tzatziki sauce they have used. The portions were decent. Special mention to the Greek fries. It's a small restaurant, can get crowded easily. But delicious food and great service (except the wait time). Ordered two beef-lamb gyros for dine-in (which I would not recommend - it's more of a take-out biz model), ended up with two curry-chicken gyros, and over-sauced - a mess to eat although we did give them a try, and to me it wasn't exactly bad either but just not what we ordered. Falafel wasn't very tasty and rather expensive and looked nothing like the menu photo. Give 'em a try, but I'm one and done. read more

I've came here twice, and both times the service has been bad. They've either been very hasty or visibly unhappy to be serving. It was my first visit to this restaurant. I went in just before closing. A super nice man prepared my gyro and Greek fries. I think he was either owner or manager. Struck up a conversation and learned that he knew some folks I know, and they eat there weekly. The restaurant was clean. The portions were decent and filling. My fries could have been more crispy and without the tzatziki. Crispy fries with just feta and seasoning might have tasted better. I love gyros. However, the meat on mine was not as good as what I'm used to from other places. I will try again and see if my opinion changes. read more

The Greek Kitchen is conveniently located in part of a small shopping center along Richmond Beach Road. I have eaten here a few times and the food has been delicious each time. My parents and I have tried the outdoor seating and liked being outside when we ate. We even had a few friends from the neighborhood come up and visit with us while we were sitting and waiting for our food. At home one time when my mom and I ordered takeout we had a red squirrel sit in a tree and watch us as it ate its dinner of almonds and cashews and we ate our dinner of Chicken Kebab plates. The food, especially the meat, is well seasoned and a plate is serving enough for dinner with potentially some leftovers depending on how hungry you are. I like that the kebab plates come with pita bread as that allows me to mix and match in making different fillings or just enjoying the pita with the hummus. Friendly and direct service each time we have come. A nice place to go for Greek food for a lunch or dinner or order takeout and eat at home. read more

Last time I visited was 10/13/14, time for an updated review for The Greek Kitchen (5/26/18). Earlier I received news that a family friend I grew up with passed away suddenly. Kind of puts one in a shocked funk, but still had to carry on with other errands and appointments. Realized it's 3pm and it was ages ago since a hurried earlier breakfast. Can't be sad and then dizzy from hunger. Dropped off The Homie at the nearby Starbucks, so I decided to have some Mediterranean cuisine. Waited briefly in line since, The Greek Kitchen does a lot of takeout orders too. The time spent onsite I observed a steady stream of customers to dine in like myself and for takeout. Time has past since my initial visit, but their location remains well maintained, clean, and bright. The counter person was very upbeat, handsome, and clearly knows his regular clientele. Same tasty menu items. Just wished they'd turn down the air con...now I know where to visit when later in the summer! The radio station playing had all 1980s tunes, how fitting since my childhood family friend and I were early 80s HS grads. Ordered the Avgolemeno (Lemon Chicken Soup, $3), the Beef and Lamb Gyro ($7.50), and a Baklava ($3). Good to report that this earns another Yelp star. The food was served relatively fast, nicely presented, and the flavors were spot on! Very nourishing on a somber day for me. I picked up a lamb and beef gyro for a picnic. What stood out to me was the beef, which seemed to have been cooked with some spices and maybe tomato sauce. I wasn't the biggest fan but on the other hand it was nice to have a shake-up since gyro sandwiches kind of all blend together. The other components were all standard, from the bread to the veggies (reasonably fresh). My fiancée really liked her falafel gyro which had tahini sauce, hummus, and tzatziki. The red onions were a little overpowering in their sharpness. I might have gone 3/5 based on food alone but the order was on time and accurate including the special instructions in the notes for extra sauces. read more

We happened to stop by on our way to the zoo. It's a clean quick Greek restaurant. The 2 workers greeted all customers and made everyone feel welcome. While eating in the restaurant at noon on a Saturday, there was a steady stream of customers coming in and getting food to go. The food was good and our typically picky kids enjoyed the kid's gyro plate. The regular gyro plate was great, and my husband and I both had leftovers. I was meeting with a student of mine at Starbucks and decided to nix the coffee and grab a cup of Greek Kitchen's lentil soup. Same price and much, more satisfying! Man what a joke I order one thing Spanakopita it's phyllo dough, spinach and feta 3 ingredients that's it so how do I get this and there is no spinach in it??? And the feta inside was non existent so I baisicly paid 5 bucks for some dough..hey you might think Mabey they were slammed with orders....nope ...not one person in the restaurant not one other pickup order next to mine someone had to come out from the backroom to even see that I was there so not busy whatsoever..so disappointing go somewhere else if you want greek food yikes read more

I've sat on this review for a few days because I absolutely love their hummus and falafel and I love supporting small, family businesses. My partner and I have spent the past year going there at least once a week and I've turned friends and family on to GK because we wanted to see them survive the pandemic. Good, great things first! Plenty parking, convenient location, clean and appealing inside. The hummus is my favorite, it's so obviously homemade because the consistency and flavor is just slightly different each time and always so so good. Pita is soft and pillowy. Their falafel has ruined falafel for almost all other places, it's so perfectly crisp, moist and consistent. Two of the employees/owners are lovely, the woman and the shorter man, and make ordering and picking up food easy and a pleasure. The bad, which is thankfully short but have done enough damage that my partner and I won't be coming back despite GK being close and our favorite local spot: Only issues with food we've ever had is the chicken is gristly (so we don't order it anymore, problem solved) and their avgolemono is bitter (again, we no longer order it). The main problem here is the attitude and behavior of the taller of the male staff/owners has frequently left a bad taste in our mouths in regards to how we're treated as well as other customers and the woman employee. He is surly, unhelpful and cares so little about customers that he will badmouth them in front of other customers. I have on multiple occasions witnessed him become angry when customers need modifications like no onions in the salad, dressing on the side, etc. The second to last time I was picking up an order, he was obviously not pleased with the woman employee and first began talking loudly at her and then started doing the scary low talking that seems more menacing then yelling. I was so uncomfortable and didn't know if I should speak up because I have no clue of their relationship or dynamic. All I do know is that I was beyond uncomfortable watching this interaction and I don't know why one would think this was ok to do in front of your customers. My partner convinced me to go back after this encounter because again, I don't know their relationship and everyone has bad days. So I called and placed an order and really I should have followed my intuition and hung up and gone elsewhere. First, the surly man was EXTRA EXTRA surly. I couldn't understand him as he was repeating my order back due to the music and his seeming to mumble more (??!!) as I continually tried to get my order repeated back to me. I kept repeating my order as he sounded very far away (our order doesn't change and has no modifications other then extra sauce and pita on the side) and soon he began yelling at me over the phone. When we went to pick up the food, he was at the front counter and our food was clearly ready and sitting right next to him so he rings us up. There was no hi or welcoming of any kind and he just kind of stared at us blankly. Partway through ringing us up he decides to answer the phone and have a whole conversation while taking an order instead of taking the 30 seconds it would have taken to finish ringing us up or to hand the phone over to his partner who was right by him. He hangs up the phone, finishes ringing us up, without an acknowledgement of him taking a phone call or even a thank you or good night and turns his back on us. This has unfortunately been fairly standard treatment and we're used to the scowl and entire lack of pleasantries, the other two staff have more then made up for him up until this point. In the car, I go to check the order and find a huge oily mess from a leaking container and get distracted cleaning it up and forget to check the order. Once home we discovered the meal was completely wrong and not anything close to what we always order. By this point they were closed and both my partner and I were frustrated at this and our prior experiences and discussed that while we love the food and want to support local businesses, we won't be going back. It was honestly hard to enjoy the meal, not just because it was wrong (it was still worth edible and we're agreeable/flexible) but also because we wondered what the hell we did to warrant consistent bad treatment. We recognize the pandemic has been hard on people and give a lot of grace in this time. We don't mind waiting, we're flexible, we keep orders as uncomplicated as possible, we don't mind prices going up and we tip well (25%+) every time and everyplace we go. There's far too many great Greek places around and many businesses who need support to continue to receive bad treatment for some unknown reason. read more

First time here, super tasty food and the employees are very friendly! Got the gyro platter with beef/lamb (the container was enough for 2 meals). There was great flavor on the meat and rice. This is a shockingly good Mediterranean quick-service shop in an otherwise invisible and non-descript Edmonds strip mall. More Middle-eastern than Greek, I'd say, with shawarma, yellow rice and hummus prevalent on many dishes and no lamb on the menu to speak of, but excellent nonetheless. Eat in store, to get their best; their plates are beautifully and (except for protein, see below) generously prepared, the food is delicious, the store is spotlessly clean (yay!) and the service is wonderful and prompt. For a special treat, order Greek coffee: it's served in beautifully decorated cups and saucers, and its rich cardamom flavor is a brilliant end to the meal. Let it cool and settle a bit; it's the real deal and served piping hot and sweet, with natural sediment, as it should be. The one detracting factor, and the only reason for a missing star for what was otherwise the best food I've had in Edmonds outside the Bowl, is the portions of protein. The meat on my beef shawarma platter, although elegantly presented, was maybe 2oz total and chopped into tiny little bits, on 4oz or more of rice. I get it: proteins are expensive, but at over $12 per plate, I think a bit more beef is in order. For slightly more generous protein, go with a gyro meat entree. Highly recommended! This place just opened up in the Richmond Beach neighbourhood of Seattle. I was looking forward to their opening and wanted to like them. There were several tables inside and after we sat down, several customers entered. I was excited to try their gyro because I noticed it behind the counter on vertical rotisseries. When I received my salad quickly, I realised we were served from another source, possibly a steam table? After a few bites, the gyro failed to impress. I'm used to the meat that has crisped edges, even a little charred if you ask them to leave it cooking for a while longer. This meat was slightly mushy and ranged from room temperature to a couple of cold pieces. The rest of the salad was made with fresh ingredients but the meat was a definite drawback. My partner wasn't impressed with his gyro either. He said the hummus was bland and his gyro meat was the same quality as mine. I can say that parking was plentiful, restaurant was clean, and the staff was nice. As we drove home, the food reminded me of mall food - not great but sufficient because you have no other choice. I might give them a second chance after a couple of months but right now, I will stick to my other Greek favourites (Mr. Gyros and Gyro Hut). read more

Hands down best babaganoush and hummus I have EVER had. The baba is nice and smoky and tangy and the hummus is so smooth. Dolmas were tasty and firm, lentil soup was a tad watery, but super flavorful, spanakopita was flaky and delicious. Highly recommended! read more

I'ma HUGE fan of great family run restaurants, and in this case, this is another great find in our local area! We've been here several times now in recent months, early on things were a bit hectic but I let that pass, assumed it was from the opening day jitters. Now some 2 years later we've made this a nice standard for "quicky" type meals in "da hood" such that Shoreline is...lol... Veggie and Fafafel plates are a great deal, served with a very nice salad and rice. I really enjoy their fafafel, nice and crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. Veggie plate comes with humus and Baba Ghanouj nice and smoky! Served with plenty of pita, if you find your pita too soft for your liking, ask them to grill it longer. Gyro "meat" is a bit different, the chicken gyro meat is a tad "soft and spongy" but for those who haven't had a gyro before because of the lamb/beef, this is your chance to try it out. While the texture is different and might take some getting used to, the flavor was outstanding! Seems the local kids frequent the place for their Greek Fries, I found the normal fries pretty darn tasty. Lemon soup is solid, for that alone I'd come back here daily!!
