First of all, never even heard of this place and me and boyfriend stumbled upon it in the way to an event. Mind you, this is my first impression, 10/10. Food was DELICIOUS. We both got the plate which comes with a protein and 2 sides with pita. You can get the protein as a gyro wrap so A+! We both got Gyro meat, fries and he got rice pilaf and I got greek fries. LOVED. IT. ALL. - Fries were nice and crisp with the perfect amount of seasoning that doesn't overwhelm or underwhelm the fries. - The rice pilaf was very soft and fluffy which greeted your mouth with love. The wraps, child. Just give these folks a CHECK! - The hummus with pita were very good. Service was great. I didn't get the young girl's name but she was super sweet and attentive. Ambience was 10/10. It wasn't busy when we sat in and quiet but honestly, that was the type of environment needed to just be present and appreciate the good food. Right or wrong, I judge my Greek spots based on the Falafel. I ordered pickup and tried the Gyro Wrap with Fries. My wife tried the Philly Wrap with a side salad. Another member of our party tried the Steak Philly. All three sandwiches were very flavorful and the meat to toppings ratio was spot on. The Philly Wrap could use a bit more meat, but at this point I am being picky. The sandwiches are definitely worth the trip and I would order again, especially for the prices. The side salad was fresh and the fries were just alright. They were seasoned well, but seemed a bit under fried. The Falafel, which you can probably tell by my photo, were all burnt to a crisp. The outsides were hard and the insides were a bit chewy. All that being said, they still had pretty good flavor, so I am hoping that it was a fluke. I really wanted this to be a great restaurant for Greek food. First it is a veteran-owned restaurant and I always support these establishments. The restaurant is in an older strip shopping center and has adequate parking for the businesses. We arrived around 2:00 pm and there were two customers sitting near the door waiting for to-go orders and one couple seated at a table in the dining area. You place your order at the counter, pay for your meals, and your food is brought out to you. Soft drinks, unless you purchase a bottled drink from the cooler, are self-serve at a Coke-cola dispenser. The dining room has tables and chairs but you have to get paper napkins, salt and pepper and ketchup at a station next to the soft drink dispenser. The dining area is minimally decorated but was clean. We both ordered Gyro plates which include sliced gyro meat, steak fries, a Greek salad and four triangles of pita bread. My fries were a mixture of cool fries that had been sitting in a warming tray combined with fresh cooked Steak fries. The hot fries were very good but the cooler fries were not edible. My serving of sliced gyro meat was fairly sparse but it had good flavor. The Greek Salad was ample and the salad dressing was very good. The pita bread was alright but it was not fresh. The plates are served with a small container of white sauce that is more like a modified Ranch dressing than traditional Tzatziki sauce. It is runny and not thick like traditional sauce served with gyros. Overall a fairly disappointing first try of this Greek restaurant. With so many good Greek restaurants spread throughout metro Atlanta, we won't likely return to this one. read more

So maybe I was a bit hasty in judging Gyro Gyro over a takeout review. I came back for lunch one day and was impressed by how improved the food was (although I did order something different). I ordered the gyro sandwich with Greek salad while my friend ordered the falafel sandwich with fries. We also ordered a serving of baklava to share for dessert. The gyro meat was tender and flavorful, and I loved the feta cheese and dressing on my Greek salad. The falafel was surprising soft on the inside and crisp on the outside. The sauces they have are great with each wrap - the hot sauce mixed with the white sauce is delicious - honestly, better than the Halal Guys white sauce. The baklava was soaked in honey and flakey. I loved being able to see each individual layer so clearly. Overall, the food was simple but delicious. It was cooked executed to my liking! It's a quiet place for lunch, which is a nice change from the busyness of the usual lunch rush. A great place to grab some gyro and falafel. read more

I've visited Gyro Gyro a couple of times for lunch, as they are down the street from my job and they've never let me down. The lunch specials are fairly priced, well-proportioned, and delicious! On this particular visit, I had a to-go order of the Philly Wrap with Greek fries ($7.01). It's as good as you'd imagine. Literally a Philly cheesesteak in a wrap. I highly recommend! Small tip: BE SURE TO CHECK-IN. First time check-in's at Gyro Gyro gets you a free fountain drink. Don't miss out on that free drink. As usual, I enjoyed my meal here. I usually go here for lunch and there's no line. They have outside seating too if you don't want to sit inside. There's no waiting, but I'm pretty sure after hours it's packed. Because the food is bomb!! my most favorite is the garlic fries and the Gyro combo They give you olive oil on the side which is a plus for me. The service here is good too the guy that's there is always polite. I remember the first time I went and didn't know what to order I asked him and he recommended the same combo I've been getting since I've first step into the place lol! I actually ordered from here through Uber eats 3 times. It was so good I decided to take a trip and check it out in person since I was in the area. They have tons of outside parking and tons of seating inside and outside. They even have BYOB which would be cool if you had a group of people you wanted to entertain on their patio. When I walked in I was immediately greeted by Pete the owner. He was kind and offered me a free drink. He told me they had been open for about 7 years. I ordered the gyro meal and they chicken wrap meal. The pita was fresh and the lamb and chicken was sliced to perfection and delicious. The veggies were fresh and not soggy like some of the other places I've tried. I've eaten here several times and each time my food was perfection. The fries are a steak cut and seasoned well. There is more than enough food for the price. I guarantee you will return if you eat here once. I appreciate and love the consistency and quality of service and food at this place. Gyronly as good as your last Gyro, and I found this Gyro to be lacking significantly. The Gyro didn't do anything for me, but I don't rate family businesses lower than a 3. It was a little tasteless and bland, as was the sauce it came on. It wasn't the worst I ever tasted, but compared to Nick's Greek To Go in East Atlanta for example, this has nothing going on. I might have just about given it 4 star, except that the price is too high (several dollars higher than Nick's), and the service was really poor. The guy and girl here both acted like they would rather be doing anything than serving me. Well I'd rather be doing anything than reviewing your business, yet here we are. Really great decor though. Get the Mahi Mahi plate. I don't know of another casual Greek place in Atlanta that offers fish -- most places just offer lamb or chicken. The $9.95 plate is served open-face (which is what I got) or wrapped, and also comes w/ Greek fries and a side Greek salad. The fish and fries were very good. If you want the white sauce for dipping your fries or meat, go to the glass fridge next to the fountain drinks. The sauce tasted like Ranch but maybe it was Tahini - my palate couldn't tell. I'm definitely coming back - thanks to Scoutmob for the introduction! The chicken pita is still good, but no longer my favorite. I had the veggie pita today and it was amazing! I actually like this one more than the meat options that I've had. Also, you have to get the eggplant fries! They're delicious. Crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside. The eggplant fries come served with honey mustard, but I actually prefer them with ketchup or tatziki sauce. Gyro gyro has a ton of desserts at the counter.
