We've been wanting to add real backsplash to our kitchen for quite some time. Initially used the peel and stick stickers which started peeling off days after and making our kitchen look unsightly. I knew it was time to hire someone to do the job. Reached out to George who was responsive and professional. He came to our house the following day to give us a quote and had us on the schedule for the job. He suggested to remove the existing couple of inches of backsplash for a cleaner install and to position the tiles vertically to highlight the design. He also suggested to use dark colored grout to accentuate the streaks on the tile. He used the upstand he removed and cut it to make a window sill for our kitchen window too. I can tell George is a very artistic person and it shows in his work. For someone like me whose creativity is almost non-existent, I'm grateful that George gave his suggestions along the way. The install was very clean and he laid protection on the floor and the kitchen surfaces. In my opinion, the quote was fair when you consider the level of worksmanship and his professionalism. George came out the same day I pinged him to see the job. I hired him on the spot because he was professional and explained everything he's going to do. That and also because I needed the tiles done before the weekend and he was able to accommodate me. I had the tiles and grout ready for him when he came to start the job two days later. My job was rather small and George worked alone. Finished the tiling in one day. I especially liked how he miter-cut the outside corner tiles to make a close fit. Also, he strategically starts the tiling from the middle so that the finished job looks symmetrical. Next morning was time to do the grouting. Turns out the grout I had was not even grout. George was nice and went to pick up white grout for me. Came back and finished the job, cleaned up and all. The one thing I wish he had done better was to better randomize the pattern around the middle. Fortunately, I'll be placing a freestanding tub there so the middle tiles won't be visible much. You reply immediately to their texts, but they take hours or days to reply to yours. They're never available but still nice enough to keep you interested. George did such a great job with our kitchen backsplash that we decided to have him tile our 1/2 bath for a focal wall. The tile we ordered could either be installed at random, or it was designed to have a repeating pattern. The tiles we received (bought ourselves online) were missing several pieces from the pattern. Long story short. We have an outdoor kitchen that needed a facelift, so we hired a gentleman who seemed knowledgeable for the job.
