A good locksmith is hard to find. I have used H and H for lockouts is in the past with satisfaction . This time I needed a lock replacement, lock installment and a repair. Another locksmith couldn't schedule an appointment until 5 days later. H and H came out the next day. James and William were on time, professional and cleaned up when the completion of the job. Contacted H&H based on being highly recommended by friends. My condo association was in need of having our lock repaired/replaced. We contacted H&H and they came out the same day! (Which is why they received 2 stars instead of 1). When they arrived, we learned that because we had a specialty lock/key that they needed a key code. We agreed to reconnect on Monday with the information. We also agreed that H&H would generate an estimate for all of the services we needed. On Monday, we contacted H&H as agreed upon and the locksmith asked to call us back in 20 minutes. An hour later, we reached out again and was unable to speak with someone. Two hours later, we called back and did not get to speak with anyone. Now, a day later, we have not received the estimate, nor a return phone call. Very disappointed. read more

My purse was stolen at Six Flags Gurnee, which included my house keys, and unfortunately I was careless enough to not had made a spare set. I called H&H Locksmith and James arrived to my home to first unlock my apartment but when I reiterated my situation with the theft of my personal items and that I don't get paid until days later, he changed my front and back door locks and accepted what I could give, which was definitely less than what they charge for new locks. Work in 2007 was good. Explained how locks worked on a newly acquired property as locksmith rekeyed to doors. Jan. 2012: Locksmith was supposed to call at 9 am and make a 9:30 am service call. I had to call the office at 9:20 to check on the service call appointment. Office staff had locksmith call and he said he'd be there at 10 am then called again and said 11:30 am. Then he asked if I got his message. Then I said never mind because the locksmith still hadn't arrived and the appt was for 9:30 am. read more

I had an extremely frustrating experience trying to coordinate with this company. I was told multiple times that a technician would call me back - I never got a call. I followed up every time, and kept getting new people on the line who had no idea who I was. Finally, the gentleman that answered my call told me that someone might call me back. When I asked if he could give me an estimate of when I would get the call, he literally said "that's all I know" and hung up on me. Extremely unprofessional and unhelpful. It is inexcusable for a Business to not answer phone calls for thirty minutes, with each call going to voicemail. It is unforgiveable when a business owner answers the phone and when asked if I can have a lock issue addressed, You answer by saying we are Closed? But your published hours are 8:00-5:00 and it is now 3:30...And when I "say your published hours are 5"00 you hang the phone up in my face? This is why I despise spending money in Black Neighborhoods....the un professionalism is unexceptable. HORRIBLE AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL TO SAY THE LEAST.... NO PROFESSIONALISM WHAT SO EVER. I called this company to have a key made for my truck, and I talked to the young gentleman who was working at the office from 4pm to 8pm yesterday. Every hour, it was a different story about where the tech was and when I called to get an updated status about what was going on (as I was waiting and told someone would come to service my car!) After waiting yet another hour I called at 9pm very upset, (because I spent my evening waiting around and they knew they were not coming) I got no answer.. I called from a different number and low and behold someone answers the phone hears my voice and hang up!!!!! And people wonder why they don't have customers and or they get bad reviews! Wow, where do I begin? I'd been doing business with h&h for about 15 years now, so to have to write this out now just blows my mind. I'm no longer doing business with this company, or referring them to anyone. I was given an arrival time that they didn't stick to (they didn't show until about 2-4 hours later), no consideration for my time!! I had to keep calling to get an ETA on the tech, which they STILL did not stick to! Finally, two guys show up, only 1 does any work, and when he asked to use my bathroom, he didn't actually use it-there was no water running or toilet flushing. Hella suspect! Work took almost 3 hours to complete, even though I started them off by removing all of the old locks. I even installed a lock myself (had one from an earlier project). Tech went to removing the locks from the FRONT door when I specifically told them that there were to be locks on 2 BACK doors!! About 90 minutes through, I was told that the job would be done in five minutes. Five minutes later, the tech tells me that he has to go buy a new lock for the last lock! I could not believe what I had to endure to get what should've been a 45 minute job (at most!) done!! I'd told my boss that I would be a couple of hours late to work, but I didn't get to leave hone for work until the end of the day. Had I had the tools of my own, I would've fared better trying to do it myself. read more

This was by far one of my worst experiences ever!! The old man (maybe the owner) used foul language toward me. Told me I was asked a "dumb as question" and accused me of wanting to get something free, although I was hold cash in my hand.
