This quaint Asian Crab n Seafood restaurant is a hidden gem in Whitestone. The beautiful artwork of a Giant Lobster swimming in the Sea is a gorgeous backdrop for a wonderful dining experience. So came here and ordered their combo #1 with King Crab. Their service is awkward. I feel it's a language barrier issue. We asked to keep the drink menu and it was taken 3 times. Then they kept taking our plates and leaving only a bucket. And I asked if they had a pitcher of beer and they kept bringing me a mug for a bottled beer. Second the food. I had a number of issues with this. First, the crawfish had 0 flavor. It tasted as if they boiled it separately and just threw it into the sauce after the fact. Second, the seafood was overcooked. Third, the sauce was all the way at the bottom of the tray and therefore the seafood got cold fast and there was no flavor. I had to ask them to reheat the food andnit came back lukewarm after 10 minutes. Fourth, ZERO seasoning. I couldn't taste anything. It looked good but the flavor was the worst I've had at a boil. Had a reservation for 6:30pm on Mother's Day, they were extremely busy when we arrived. Completely understaffed and overworked. There were many people waiting for their takeout order and most tables had no food. I saw a lot of people leave their table without being served because they were tired of waiting and another table had waited over 15 minutes for the waitress to get their check. Another table complained about the place being disorganized and you can tell seated patrons were disgruntled and hungry. We were seated after 30 minutes (people had gotten up to leave after not being served). We ended up leaving to another diner that had space. Awful experience, but not as bad as people who were seated but waited over an hour to be served. Restaurant needs adequate staffing. read more

Came here with my friends to celebrate an early birthday of one of my friends. Dining in here was awesome as the server was really nice and the food came out quickly. We got one set of their h crab combo and one smaller set between 4 of us and it was more than enough. I really like the utensils they gave to open up the snow crab as it would be painful to eat without it and you would not be able to get all the meat. I know seafood is the main star of the dish, but I really enjoyed the potato and the corn that came with the sets as it well absorbed the sauce. I recommend that you come here wearing something comfortable as there is a good chance you are going to get sauce over you. My friend introduced me to this place last week and it was such a great experience. The food was amazing, their house special sauce is off the hook. Tl;dr Seafood was acceptable, but the seasoning was amazing. Came here on a saturday night and the restaurant was half full. The staff was very friendly and was happy to explain the options on the menu. They were very upfront about what they did and didn't have, as well as which seafood items were fresh and frozen. It was pretty understandable that most of the crustaceans came in frozen, as most of them arent in season at the moment. We ordered the lobster + snow crab legs + shrimp in garlic butter and an additional pound of muscles + 1/2 lb sausages in the house special sauce. The mussels and sausage in the house special sauce was great. It was the perfect combination of spicy and salty and the mussels went along with it really well. This was probably the highlight of our meal. The garlic butter sauce wasn't as strong. I would've prefered a stronger garlic flavor. The shrimp was already gutted, which was a welcome surprise. Not needing to gut the shrimp made the eating experience much faster and enjoyable. The lobster meat stuck to the shell like glue and was difficult to remove, which was disappointing but honestly expected. The snow crab legs were pretty decent and came out of the shell without much effort. We ended up dipping it in the other (house special) sauce since we preferred that one more. We also tried a lobster roll and was surprised that it included two rolls. It was a pretty average cold lobster roll, but at $13, was a great deal. Compared to the other cajun boil places in Flushing, I would say that H Crab Cajun Seafood stands out for its delicious seasoning. This place is an absolute hidden gem!!! The quality of the hospitality is amazing. The atmosphere is very modern & welcoming along with very cool art displayed on the walls. My wife & I came here for lunch with our 3 kids (4,2,1yo) and the lovely hostess/waitress was very helpful and did an amazing job keeping it fun for my kids. If you were to order one spicy and one not spicy, would you expect an order for two milds? I ordered two combo E and asked for one spicy and one not spicy. There was definitely a language barrier because this had to be repeated 3 times.. we had a 5 minute convo on repeating that I wanted one spicy and one not spicy. I don't really feel like that is such a difficult thing to understand but unfortunately for her it was. Then she says they have only 3 levels which is mild,medium, or hot and that they didn't have a no spicy option so we chose mild since they said they didn't have a no spicy. We get home and I realize they messed up on our order. They gave us two milds. At first my husband calls to let them know and they say we are sorry and just hangs up the phone on him. I call back and ask that they redo the one order that is wrong and take back the one they gave us. This is not a cheap meal. It's a $40 person meal. They say they cannot redo it but I can come pick up sauce. I have two toddlers and live 20 minutes away.. a round trip for me would be about an hour. I ask if they can deliver it at least because it's their mistake and the girl named May snarkily says maybe and I hear her scoffing and mumbling in Chinese to herself. At this point I'm just done with her and her attitude. Separate from this, I called to ask if I can pay over the phone. First girl says yes and then gives the phone to another girl who is clueless and now I have to repeat myself. I really do believe there is a huge language barrier. First girl definitely did not understand a word I said and I believe she's also the same girl who initially took our order. They didn't do anything to rectify the situation but instead gave attitude and rude remarks. A huge language barrier which makes it frustrating to communicate with them.( looks like someone else left a review mentioning this language barrier)To top it all off, the food tasted so bad and salty. It's just a bunch of seafood in a oil+salt mix. So disgusting. Even the corn tasted sour so I'm not sure if they are using fresh produce. The best part of the meal was the potato. I would give the food four stars but the service was not good. First time I called for a reservation and asked if there would be a line if we get there around 6:30pm and the lady on the phone was not friendly, she said she would be super busy at 6:30 and I'd better come early if I don't want to wait. When my friends got there around 6:30 that day, half of the restaurant was empty. The second time we went, we were seated near the bathroom and we had to ask and wait for a long time to order things or get water filled. We ordered a shrimp sandwich with fries, thinking we could get a clam chowder on the side for extra $2. When I order, I pointed to the sides section to tell the waitress. She didn't write anything down, and didn't tell me the extra $2 is for one side for the sandwich rather than two. At the end, we were charged the full price for the soup. We were waiting for quite a while for her to come explain because she was serving other tables knowing I was waiting. I got so annoyed and paid the full price. Wish the waiting staff would be more professional when interacting with customers. It was easily avoided with a better explanation in advance. We thoroughly enjoyed the take out dinner for our family of 4. The catfish and shrimp which were fried were cooked just right. It came with seasoned Cajun fries that were surprisingly very good. The clam, black mussels and shrimp in medium spicy sauce, and the Combo E (snow crab leg, shrimp, corn and potatoes) in mild sauce were delicious. They got it right with the flavors in their boil. Crawfish was a lot of work for a little prize in the tail, but it was fun. Gloves were included to handle the mess. The lobster rolls and calamari (boiled) were good but was not great. They were so accommodating over the phone and even tried to work out the best combos for me that would fit enough food for my family. They were so patient with me over the phone when deciding. I was even able to pick out the sauces and not have to add them all or just choose 1. The sauce I picked were Cajun, butter garlic, and lemon pepper. Also order just mild. The food was phenomenal. The shrimp was not overly cooked, the green mussels were so juicy, fat, and tender. The crab legs were delicious and enough for 4 adults and 1 grown kid who loves seafood. If I had to remove anything, maybe the lobster tail bc the meat was getting stuck to the shell. Instead I would've probably ordered another pound of the green mussels. If you've never had green mussels, order it! It's like a jacked up version of the black mussel. You will not regret it. By the end, we had enough leftover for my family to take some home for another dinner. My family even saved the sauce so they can smother it in other foods. That's how tasty the sauce was. I ordered online on Saturday around 1pm and the estimated wait time was 40 minutes. After 25 minutes, received a call that my food was ready.
