It's a great place to shop, they have everything I need when I'm doing Korean bbq at home. The only downfall is that they don't have an ad.

I understand times are hard and many businesses are cutting corners to save money, but if they're doing that, they shouldn't keep prices the same or raise them. My mom used to always buy 주물럭 from this market and it was pretty decent. Recently, I've noticed they're mixing in other cuts of meat while still charging the same price. That pisses me off because it's dishonest and obviously lack integrity. In the attached photo, the very left thicker meat is the 주물럭 but the thinner meat surrounding it is not. I don't know what cut of meat is it but they're definitely not 주물럭. Honestly, if they're already doing this, I'm pretty sure they're also using older meat too, since the 양념 would easily cover up any changes in color or taste. The manager think he makes all the products he sells, he's so ignorant as customer wants to return because had experienced with food poisoning as myself had diarrhea for three days and lost 6 pounds within 3 days. He was top of his world saying no screaming as it's impossibl. Such a moron and attitude only come with his big moron head he carries on his shoulders. Place is so close by myplace, I don't usually shop there because it's dirty and floor is so black looked like a warehous. This market doesn't seem like much from the outside and the inside. However it's clean, inventory is fully stocked and price is affordable. Plenty of parking spaces. When I'm in the area I made sure to stop by to purchase some of my favorite items. I can always find affordable kitchen items here too. read more

Small/ compact and straight forward. This Korean grocery store is pretty good in terms of price. I was able to buy products cheaper compared to bigger stores like hmart. Although, it may not have a more complete line up of stuff to buy, it does sell the necessities at affordable prices. The place is clean and does look a little bit dated but it does serve its purpose. I will definitely come back... The aunties were helpful. So service is a plus. There's also a small food court with 3 restos. Not bad :) The toilet though is coded and unfortunately could have used a touch up when i visited. read more

This was a solid Korean grocery store! I recently visited this grocery store on a Saturday night before closing. It wasn't too busy and there was a security guard working the entrance which made it seem safer. Walking around, the selection was pretty decent. There were many Korean and general Asian goods from sauces to instant noodles. There were even hot and cold prepared foods such as sashimi and tteokbokki. I was mainly looking for the Lee's Vietnamese coffee concentrate I got from here before, but I was disappointed that they didn't have any in stock. There were good deals going on at the time I want and I got a reduced sodium spam for around $3.50 compared to other places that would sell them for $5-$6, so it was a good deal. The interior wasn't super nice, but it was decent. The market seemed to be on the older side. There's also a big parking lot shared with other businesses. Overall, a decent experience here. I would come back if I was in the area, but there are better Korea/Asian super markets around. read more

Arirang is where the OG Fullerton/BP Koreans go to grocery shop, away from the fancy lighting and prices of H-Mart and the good-but-never-great experience at Zion market. Let's start with the meat section here- both the prepared seasoned meats and non-seasoned are the best in the area hands down. Given the pricing, quality and taste. The produce is never really on "sale" here, but reasonable everyday pricing type of thing though the quality can vary. Freezer aisle is tiny as is the adult drink selections, so those are two big minuses if you're in to any of those things. Also the snack aisle is pretty small as well, though stocked with the basics ala shrimp chips and Matdongsan. I've found the workers pretty friendly here which is an unexpected plus. Come to Arirang for the meat section and stay for well-priced produce and many of your Korean pantry staples. read more

My child was unhappy with the ambiance but I liked the selection of drinks (canned coffee as well as soju) and the quality of mushrooms is good. Terrible customer service Manager yelled at me in front of my child I've been a regular at Arirang (AR) Market for their meat selection, but after today, I will not be returning. I had a very upsetting encounter with the manager regarding a pricing error. I picked up three boxes of Choco Pies marked at $3.99 on the shelf. At checkout, they scanned at $5.99. I offered to show the cashier a photo I took of the shelf tag. While the cashier was understanding, the manager (an older woman) completely ignored my proof. She walked back to the aisle to check for herself and then stayed there doing other tasks while I waited at the register with my toddler. When I finally went to find her, she started screaming at me, claiming she saw the price. When I told her it was disappointing that she didn't trust a customer who had photo proof, she began yelling at me, saying I was "talking like sh*t" in front of everyone. It was incredibly embarrassing to be berated in front of other customers and my young son. Aside from the poor service, this market is significantly more expensive than other Korean competitors in the area. Between the high prices and the disrespectful management, it isn't worth it. Decided to check this Korean market out after my mother in law said their galbi is great. The inside of the market is a little grungy with squeaky shopping carts but lots of parking (although it can be a little hard to find parking on the weekends). They have everything you would need with prices that are more affordable than some of the other Korean markets in Buena Park. I also enjoyed all the delicious samples throughout the market. However, a friend recently had an experience similar to mine, so I felt it was time to write a review. ​I do not go to this location as much as before due to a frustrating encounter regarding a pricing error. When the cashier called a manager to help with a price discrepancy, an older woman arrived and immediately acted bothered, asking what! in an angry tone. She ignored me entirely and spoke only to the cashier. While I was trying to explain the price on the tag, she simply walked away and didn't come back. ​The cashier eventually had to find her again, and I could hear them arguing that the tag was wrong. When the cashier returned, she looked so uncomfortable that I told her to forget the item. ​Pricing mistakes happen. Other Korean markets I visit either honor the lower price or politely explain that a sale ended and forgot to change the tag. I never mind those situations when the staff is respectful. However, this manager was unprofessional and made me feel like a nuisance for asking why the price is different. Listen to the reviews and do NOT come here. Yesterday I went for the first time to buy wagyu bulgogi, kimchi cucumber, and rice that you heat up in the microwave. First of all, the rice smelled so bad after I microwaved it... it always smelled toxic. It was a really bad smell - one that tells you something is wrong. Second, cucumber kimchi I bought was already moldy. Why are u selling moldy food? I'm pretty sure I feel sick from this. Third, the supposed "wagyu bulgogi" was not Wagyu quality at allll. Even me who doesn't know much about meat can tell that this was not good quality. It was very chewy after cooking. I'm never going here again. I wonder if their products are even FDA approved?! I was first introduced to AR mart by a patient of mine who gifted me some marinate kalbi. She purchased her meat from the garden grove location and it was absolutely delicious. I was a fan so I decided to look up the nearest location to my home in buena park. This was the one. I was excited to come and get some from kalbi. The store appeared older than my usual korean markets, not well maintained and the lighting did not do the food products justice. The marinated kalbi was priced similar to H Mart and zion. Their dry snacks were expensive, the korean side dishes were lacking and not appetizing. When I got home, I found there kalbi container was half filled with sauce and the quality of meat used for the marinated kalbi was lesser than the non marinated version. To me, this was not honest business practice. The marinade did not taste like the garden grove location. I will definitely not be returning to this location. There are much better korean marts to visit. read more

First of all, this is the dirtiest Korean supermarket out all of Korean supermarkets in the northern Orange County area. I honestly think the only reason they are still in business is because the rest of the markets are a bit further out from this location so the location is what is it's saving Grace for many people. If you're selling any sort of prepared food, ingredients should be listed due to allergies and in my case- due to the fact that I try to stay away from MSG laden food. I asked on several occasions to different workers about their prepared foods and nobody could tell me what ingredients and whether any artificial ingredients such as msg was used in their prepared food. And they all acted like I had no right to even ask. No nutritional labels with calorie count, sodium levels, ingredients- and the few with ingredients were not the complete ingredients for sure! The people who work behind the fish counter are equally rude. This market charges extra if you want the fish cleaned and gutted. But FYI other Korean markets (see hmart and Zion market) do not!! I am ok with paying the extra price since it is clearly stated and it is within my right to not purchase for the extra price. However, they are rude and act like you are asking for an organ donation if you ask for a cleaning. And finally, this is the only Korean supermarket that does not have their weekly ad online. Every other market does on their website (check hannam chain, hmart, Zion- they all have weekly sale ads posted online). Annoying. They are known for their marinated meats and if you don't mind artificial ingredients by all means get it. Don't expect them to be honest about it tho- they won't directly say there is no msg - but they will beat around the bush and say things like "doesn't everyone use it?" Or "how should I know I'm just an employee". Absolutely terrible service. Don't come here if you have questions. Nobody is willing to answer. Nobody!! Located in a strip mall with ample parking. This korean market had everything that I normally get from H mart. I was impressed that the produce were fresh and reasonably-priced. It's a smaller market but had a good selection of groceries. Great market to go to if you are looking for fresh fruits and veggies and a low price. I would recommend checking it out. Small market with your essentials for groceries and more. Lots of fresh produce at a very reasonable price. There is also a lot of fresh seafood and meats to select from. The freezer section was overwhelming because there are like 10+ different brands for spicy rice cakes and different dumplings LOL I ended up not getting any since I couldn't choose. My first time visiting this location. While it is smaller of the Korean markets I've visited, I could find all that I needed. The ladies and gentlemen here with the samples and produce were so helpful and so nice! One even helped me pick out the best watermelon. I always had the hardest time and they gave me the advice to look for the "belly button in" on the ends. That advice worked!! I've been enjoying the most delicious and sweet watermelon I've had all summer! Noticed some great prices on the meat selections, produce, and various frozen items I enjoy. Also picked up some of my favorite yakisoba noodles, kimbap ingredients, ramen, and peppero cookies & cream. The Peppero were on sale 2 for $0.99! I like those more than Pocky, too. read more

AR is a smaller Korean market located in Fullerton. I have shopped at all the larger chain supermarkets in the area but have never been here. The parking lot is spacious although it is shared with many other businesses. The interior is clean and organized for the most part. They carry all the Asian ingredients that I need to prepare home-cooked meals. The produce is fresh and fully stocked on the day I went grocery shopping. The seafood department is limited and they carry live dungeness crab. You can purchase marinated meat by the pound or pre-packaged. There are various fresh banchan (side dishes) including kim chi by the bulk. Inside the market, there are some food vendors and a cosmetic shop. The service here is decent and nothing to complain about. I actually encountered a friendly cashier while checking out. I would shop here again as it is easy to navigate and they carry all my essentials. They do follow COVID guidelines with social distancing markers. This Korean market is amazing. The parking structure is pretty decent size. It has many different little shops inside this place too like restaurants and smaller stores. They also have a thrift store in here too. I managed to check it out and they have very affordable and cute clothing. (this will be for another review) The inside of the market also has a small cafeteria were you can eat at different little vendors. They are mostly Korean food of course. They also have a small little stores that sells clothing and accessories. It's very cute. I will be coming back to buy from those little vendors. They need some support these Covid 19 rough times. My main reason to come here was because I fell in love with eating Korean sweet and spicy rice cakes. Unfortunately, I live in an area where it's nothing but American markets. My fiancé drove me here on a nice Saturday afternoon to pick up the necessary ingredients to make it. I was so happy to find full packages with the rice cakes and the sauce together. This has been my regular supermarket for produce for over a year. Produce is probably the cheapest in the area. To give a general idea and if on sale (please note this was how much I purchased these items before in the past): Green onions 5 for $1.00 Iceberg lettice heads 2 for $1.00 Brown onions 5 lbs for $0.99 Korean Ramen/Ramyun can go on sale: Nongshim brand Shin Ramen/Ramyun 5 pack $2.99 AR Mart brand kimchi: 1 gallon jar $8.99 However the beef prices have gone up as indicated in the media. Marinated short ribs go for $5.79/LB, up around $0.79. Sometimes it can be $5.49. Regular not marinated short ribs $5.29/LB. This store is filthy. I definitely would not or did not buy any after seeing how dirty the store was. All the Floor drains in front of the meat dept and produce had build up of gunk and debris. I also notices the Emergency exit doors were tied together so nobody could exit out if there was an emergency. I'm debating on calling the fire dept or health dept about that. read more
