This is not a legit H Mart like the ones in Kakaako and Pearl City. It's an Asian market where half the stuff is Korean and the rest is Filipino, Chinese, and Japanese. The market is small and run down. They have a small selection of produce but everything was pricey and some of the leafy greens didn't look fresh. I came to look for that mango shaped ice cream that's been trending. I did not find the ice cream but I did buy some beverages and snacks. They have the Lan Fong Yuen coffee milk tea which is from Hong Kong and the H Mart in Kakaako used to sell it but they stopped bringing it in. It was $4.99 each and there were 2 left so I grabbed both, win! They have a large selection of Asian drinks that are chilled and in the boxes. The boxes are stacked and already open so if you see drinks you want, just grab them yourself because there's no service from the staff. I didn't see any staff walking around to unbox or stock products. There's 2 cashiers at check out, they seem friendly but it was also a slow morning since I went before 10AM on a Saturday. Their price tags are yellow and red, same like what you see at Palama Supermarket so I'm guessing it's the same owner. I don't know if they have weekly ads or if they follow the Palama Supermarket pricing but I do like their variety of the Chinese beverages and snacks. I'd come back again to restock my snacks in the future. For parking, the spaces are tight and it's good if you have a compact vehicle. If you have a truck or mid-size SUV, it'll be challenging to get out of the parking lot so good luck. The area is sketch cause there's people sitting and sleeping across the street and by the corner of the block so be careful.

I fresh made like the kim chee here and the fact that they are open everyday til 9pm is a bonus. Be mindful to price other stores because some things are more expensive here.

Smaller location than we are used to. Parking is REALLY tight and limited. We circled the block 2 times before getting parking. Lots of variety of Asian foods and fruits, veggies, drinks, meats. Depending on the time of day, it can get pretty crowded and the aisles are tight. We found a few items and went on our way. Don't forget to bring your own bags or you'll have to buy. They do have free boxes available however, if you don't want to buy bags.

Hmart has a nice variety of Asian goods. I like the selection of Kim chee vegetables and fresh produce. I took off one star for the parking. It's limited, narrow, and sometimes full.

I found out that this H Mart is not affiliated with the others on the island. That being said, I love coming here because the kimchi that is made here is one of the best that I can find on Oahu. The fresh banchan always looks so good - and the ones I've tried tastes yummy. Luau leaves are usually priced cheaper than stores like Don Quijote. Parking here is not the best - tight parking spots. However, that doesn't deter me from shopping here.

H Mart store openings in 2020, 2022 and 2023. Kalihi, HI nowhere to be found for years 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023.

I'm not sure why, but it seems to me that H Mart - Kalihi is treated like an illegitimate child in the H Mart family. When you visit their 2023 website, you only see two H Mart stores in Hawaii: H Mart - Kakaako and H Mart - Pearl City. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/h-mart-honolulu-2?select=m5GxZsW594VMJlZ5uvvfTg Unlike the grand openings of H Mart - Kakaako and H Mart - Pearl City, there was little or no fanfare and momentous ceremony to mark the Kalihi H Mart opening. To me, H Mart doesn't act like a proud father of a newborn child when it comes to this store. Aside from the change of sign and some fresh exterior paint, there wasn't any eye-catching interior upgrades like at Kakaako and Pearl City. I understand that this store is located in Kalihi and yes Kalihi is typecast as being aged, lower class and shabby; I understand Kalihi is a few social classes below Kahala, Hawaii Kai, Manoa, Kakaako and Pearl City; I understand Kalihi is looked down on as being a working class neighborhood; And yes! It's safe to say that you will never ever see a Whole Foods, Safeway, Macy's, Louis Vuitton or Mercedes Benz dealership in Kalihi. But with that said, Kalihi is homegrown, old school and has local character with iconic places like Tamashiro Market, Foodland, Helena's Hawaiian Food, Ray's Café, Zippy's, Kamehameha Bakery, Farrington High School and Bishop Museum. Kalihi was the hometown of people like Governor Ben Cayetano, Skippa Diaz, Augie T, Jessie Sapolu, Dick Jensen, Kam Fong, Donna Mercado Kim, Simeon Acoba and Wally Yonamine. H MART!! NO BE SHAME! Don't treat H Mart - Kalihi like an illegitimate child and embrace and be proud of your Kalihi location and make H Mart - Kalihi a statement store like you did in Pearl City. For me, I see great things happening at this store if you do your H Mart Style. May I remind you that: Steve Jobs was an illegitimate child adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs. Think of how he affected all of our lives and how proud his parents would have been knowing that their son co-founded Apple Inc. and gave the world the iPhone. Actress, model and singer, Norma Jeane Mortenson never met her father and spent the early years of her life in an orphanage and numerous foster homes. In 1946 she changed her name to Marilyn Monroe and is the most recognized sex and pop culture icon of the mid-20th century. Oprah Gale Winfrey was born to a single teenage mother; gave birth to a son when she was 14 years old; and would become American's first and only black multi-billionaire. She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama in 2013. And lastly, Leonardo da Vinci, the out of wedlock son of a wealthy father and peasant mother had an IQ of 200. This Renaissance man was considered one of the greatest artist and inventors that ever lived and a genius in mathematics, engineering, architecture, geology, botany and literature. I visit your Kalihi store often and think you repaving and restriping the H Mart - Kalihi parking lot is a good start in making this store a shining star and beacon in Kalihi. Do your H Mart Style magic to the interior and I think this store can be a Steve Jobs, Oprah Winfrey and Leonardo da Vince. And if the blonde Korean lady that makes your kim chee changes the way she dresses, she could be the Marilyn Monroe of H Mart because from the standpoint of kim chee, she understands that "Some Like it Hot!" I just love the spiciness of your H Mart - Kalihi kim chee! PS: 5 stars because of the parking lot repaving and restriping. Looking forward to see you do your H Mart style wizardry on the inside of the store....Op! Op! Oppa H Mart style!!

    Moldy produce.. yikes!!

I stopped in to the HMart in Kalihi. I was shocked to see how awful that store is... everything felt dirty and when I looked through the food . The corn was tossed into a freezer loosely and the produce was moldy. Don't think I'll be back. I can't believe is part of the HMart in Kakaako

Definitely a lot of interesting Lay's flavor varieties here !

We love browsing the aisles here because it's like visiting a foreign country in Asia without the plane fare. We always find cool snacks and noodles here. Plus with Google Translate, nothing is foreign forever anymore ! So much fun discovering all of the exotic & unusual snacks here. Prices are competitive too. The Kalihi location doesn't participate with the H Mart rewards program though, that's a bummer. Oh yeah, and the service at Kalihi I noticed, not too friendly or maybe it's just me. Nah, it can't be me.

HMart in Hawaii... if y'all been to LA... It's popular there! Big Korean grocery store! I like coming here for many items... lately the singapore laksa packages are my fave, those fish cake mozzarella sticks are perfect to just pop in the air fryer. Many other snack options and definitely the variety of asian ice cream!! Not just boba bars but frozen durian it's like eating durian ice cream or Melona Mochi ice cream!!! Their reward system, I hate because you have to sign up online and you show then your app each time. You bring back receipt if you're new member and they add in points for you. But if you lose it on your phone you can't just log in to get the same card number.... That part baffles me.... the app is only used for the card to scan... Hawaii doesn't allow you to look up Ads or deals.

Great Asian food choices at a good price outside of Asia. Best options for all my Korean and Japanese spices and sauces in Texas.

I'm sorry Casee, but Donki does not care or take customer's complaints serious like your reply implies: At the outset, we apologize for the inconvenience and the experience you mentioned when shopping at our store on May 17, 2026 (Sunday). After reviewing this matter carefully, it appears: Store employees near the store exit asked every customer to present a copy of their purchase receipt; In addition to visible checks by store employees at the exit, signs were posted for customers: "Please have receipt ready"; Customers before you presented their receipts and, after a quick verification, their receipts were returned and they exited the store; When the store employee requested you to provide a copy of your purchase receipt, you were not able to and you searched the pockets in your clothes and in your shopping cart but the receipt could not be found; you then stated you had thrown away the receipt; In accordance with store policy, the store employee asked which check-out counter you made the purchase and you pointed in the direction of the self-check stations; You then retrieved your mobile phone and started video recording; As your hands were occupied video recording on your phone, our store employee pushed your cart to the self-check station area and you followed; Upon inspecting the self-check station you were at, there was no receipt. However, your receipt was later recovered from the attendant station after a cashier found a receipt at the self-check station you used and brought it to the attendant station. You continued to focus on your phone to video record. The store employee retrieved the receipt and compared it against the merchandise in your shopping cart; You continued to video record; After verification, the receipt was handed to you before the store employee pushed your cart to the exit area as you continued to video record on your mobile phone. You followed the store employee to the exit area and you left the store with your shopping cart; and On May 22, 2026 (Friday), at 6:36 PM, you submitted a formal report and claim to the store. I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Don Don Donki. After spending a significant amount of money in the store and at the food court, I was stopped, detained, and escorted back to the checkout area against my wishes despite having paid for every item in my possession. One of the items I purchased even required an employee to remove a security hard tag during checkout, clearly demonstrating that the merchandise had been properly paid for. I am extremely concerned by the conduct of your security personnel during the incident in question. The video evidence clearly demonstrates that I did not voluntarily consent to returning to the store. Instead, I was directed and escorted back inside by Security Officer Siemens despite my expressed desire to leave the premises. At that time, all merchandise in my possession had already been lawfully purchased and paid for. More troubling is the fact that even after proof of purchase was produced and verified by store employees, Security Officer Siemens continued to retain control over my property and refused to return it immediately. Despite confirmation that all items had been properly paid for, I was treated as though I had committed a criminal act and was escorted from the store in a manner that was humiliating, intimidating, and highly embarrassing. As a paying customer who made multiple purchases at your establishment, including supporting one of your concession vendors, I find this treatment unacceptable. Customers should not be subjected to detention, public humiliation, or interference with their personal property simply because store procedures are inadequately staffed or managed. If receipt verification procedures are causing operational challenges due to a lack of manpower, that burden should not be shifted onto customers who have already completed lawful purchases. Operational shortcomings do not justify the detention of customers, the withholding of personal property, or conduct that may constitute false imprisonment and wrongful interference with personal property rights. I respectfully request a written explanation as to why I was detained, why my property was withheld after proof of purchase was presented, and what corrective actions will be taken to ensure that other customers are not subjected to similar treatment in the future. This incident has caused significant distress, embarrassment, and anxiety, and remains deeply disappointing given the manner in which I was treated despite being a legitimate paying customer What a shame, Don Don Donki. What a shame!

The side kick…read more.. Banchan has been the item that I've always looked forward to whenever I order a plate and never really knew that it had a name and as everyone has their favorite so did I and there are a few places that you can find some yummy banchan I had no idea about Hawaii Banchan Company but know that Elite Peter Y had gotten some snacks from there that I enjoyed and knew that I had to give them a visit one day...where!? You can find them right on Kapiolani though you can barely seem them from the street view as it's not the prominent located spot as they're located right below The Republik right beside the ramp where you can find several parking stalls it shares with other tenants. Open daily except Sunday I love how clean and spacious the shop is where each item is labeled along with price so you know without picking up the item to search makes browsing very easy with items like drinks, snacks both savory and sweet and of course display case filled with various banchan. Love the convenience of this location and now know that I can now find some of the unique items they carry and though I didn't walk away with banchan on this day know that my cravings will certainly bring me back. Thank you!

A lot of interesting Korean groceries here. And except for the hot food in styrofoam trays,…read moreeverything is imported from Korea! I got to try some real Korean kimchi. It's sour with good umami flavor. I'm not a real Korean so I prefer kimchi that is a bit more fresh and not as aged, but I can see how some would like it. I also tried their japchae made in house. Not bad, but definitely not the best I've had, not enough sesame oil for my taste. They also have the popular fried strawberries snacks for sale. I also got a frozen musubi and some abalone congee to try. (The congee is really tasty!) There's also the famous fancy hotel kimchi for sale here if that's what you're into. All the products look interesting!
