They have tight aisles and the entry way, is a maze of products blocking anywhere you wanna walk. I wasn't impressed with the layout. I was happy to see this new H Mart location right off the DeAnza exit on 85, near Cupertino. We probably made a mistake going there on a Sunday afternoon! The parking lot was packed, and more people were waiting for spots than there were parking spots. We ended up parking on a nearby residential street, which seemed fine. The store itself was packed full of people, and some of the checkout lines queued up into the aisles, which was a little awkward. I did feel like this store seemed a little more cramped than other locations, but they have a ton of stuff. Produce! Prepared foods! Sauces. Also, everything is very inexpensive. We got some sauces and pickled daikon, and it was only about $20. I don't think they have baskets, just carts. We had to walk around with the stuff in our hands. I think we didn't get a cart because we didn't want to overbuy, but also, with the huge numbers of customers, a cart might be awkward. Came by for some groceries the other day and it was a decent experience. HMart carries a variety of Korean groceries and even has a small canteen selling Korean items cooked to order. There is a seafood, meat, dry-foods department. If you're lucky, you may be able to find some Korean-made spicy instant noodles, just like in Korea! Parking lot is small, especially with all the restaurants there and the 85C bakery. When it's busy, you'll mostly get stuck in the aisle when people staying in their car waiting for a space. It's like a grid lock. Overall parking is horrible and it is difficult to find parking. Don't come during peak lunch or dinner times. read more

Pretty big Asian market with lots of fruit options, including imported extra fancy Korean or Japanese grapes, strawberries, etc right after the entrance. The precut fruit section nearby is also very good with fresh white dragonfruit at a reasonable price. This H Mart is very clean and well lighted inside and gets good business, which keeps the inventory fresh. Feels nicer than most Ranch 99's (the largest Asian chain on the West Coast) and certainly better than Marina Food, a local supermarket that offers lower prices. There's some security here with a guard up front and exit only through the cash register area. Location is right off 85 on De Anza and while it's technically in San Jose, it really does feel like Cupertino. Main reason I'm at H Mart is because I'm also getting tea at my favorite spot (Yi Fang Fruit Tea). read more

Those parking lot is honestly a nightmare! The spot seem way too small and people seem to drive in the middle of the lane with their cars. Lol. Granted H Mart has cheaper prices on different sauces and that's why I come. Although today I came because I needed toppings to make Bingsu. I love their wide variety and assortment of fruits and vegetables from around the world! I also like their pre-marinated items and I just saw they have hot fresh potatoes now too! And sweet potatoes! My son loves the two restaurants inside and if you come around lunchtime, they make a bunch of hot foods as takeout! There are a lot of people working, but they are very self efficient and aren't as likely to help you find the items you need especially if there is a language barrier. It's not the best nor the worst HMart around the region. The store looks more spacious from the outside, but when you enter the building, inventories and aisles felt cramped and congested in ways. Maybe they should move the boxes and aisles around, especially near front entrance area. The setup isn't anything like other HMart locations at all. However, it's still a great place to shop for Korean groceries and the food court has two restaurant options currently available. I noticed the employees here aren't as open or smiling like at other locations. Management here must be stricter I guess. It felt a bit more stricter at checkout lanes too. Security guard was present onsite. Produce and meats looked good. Banchan side dishes are always a favorite to grab and go. They have everything you need for Korean groceries and do pay attention to any marked deals. Aisles were a bit narrow though. I was more interested in stopping by the food court instead of shopping today. The place felt more empty at the beginning of the week. This HMart near Cupertino looks kind of small from the outside, but once you step in, it opens up and feels just like your typical HMart. The market is packed with all the stuff you'd expect. The selection is solid and you can find those usual great deals. I always check out the little corner where they're making hot food. That kitchen is always busy and puts out some tasty options. Seafood section looked fresh with some good pricing and the produce here is one of the highlights. Everything looked clean and vibrant. Store itself feels modern and well lit so it's easy to walk through without it feeling chaotic. Parking lot is decent, but it gets crazy on the weekends. There's a bunch of popular spots in the same plaza like 85°C Bakery, Go Fish Poke Bar, and a Chinese noodle place that draw in crowds. This review is specifically for the cashier who rang us up today, JUAN SHI, who berated my wife for scanning the digital member card in front of the reader in such a way that it beeped more than once. My wife did not hear the first beep and wanted to be sure that the bar code was scanned into the system. JUAN SHI berated her so viciously for a prolonged period that we were in shock, never having had that kind of experience ever before in any establishment. If this had caused her substantial extra work, we could understand, but this doesn't seem to have been the case because her work flow was not interrupted in the least. She scanned through all the items (we had placed the bar codes facing up, to make the job easier) and then closed out the receipt, without a hitch. JUAN SHI's display of animosity was so uncalled for and inappropriate that we can still barely believe this actually happened. Originally, we were looking forward to becoming regular customers here but after this experience, my wife doesn't want to return. Nice work, JUAN SHI: you just lost your employer a long-term customer ... for no good reason. read more

H Mart on De Anza is a clean and well stocked Asian market. They have a great selection of produce, meat, seafood, snacks, and sauces. I saw the roasted sweet potatoes at the front which looked really good and fresh. I also found Vital mango ice cream which was creamy and full of flavor. I would come back just for that. Parking is tight since the lot is small so it is better to go early. The food court is fine for a quick bite and the bakery has fresh items. Service is fast and efficient but not very personal. I was looking for some fresh fruits and produce at H Mart in Cupertino. My family wanted to try my cooking demo. So, I hosted a Cultural Demo Party at my niece's house. To make story short, I picked up dragon fruit and pomelo for a photo pose. I ask my family members to vote on which fruit to feature. I really like the store and the big parking lot. I couldn't believe there was parking during the Christmas shopping week. There were decent number of shoppers. Cashier lines went pretty quick. The produce section was bigger than I expected. So many fresh items to go through. Then, I got caught by the sampling stations. I wanted to buy those I tried but I had no place to store them. Got a gift certificates from our parents, who are regulars at this store and purchased a bunch of them from this particular store a few months ago. They've used many successfully, so when we tried to use the one that they gave us, to our surprise, the store refused to accept it. First they said "there's no record of it" and then they said they usually have a stamp in the front, whereas our gift certificate was signed by a store employee or manager. They seemed to imply that our gift certificate was fake, and kept asking us "where did you get this certificate?" Look, we have better things to do than to manufacture fake $50 gift certificates to a store where $50 does not go very far at all. Not only did they refuse our gift certificate, their attitude was terrible and they didn't seem like they wanted to help at all. Obviously it's not a good look for them to refuse the gift certificate they issued at their own store, but I would also avoid this location due to poor customer service as well as outrageously high prices. This H Mart location is significantly smaller than the one on Oakland Rd but that doesn't mean they lack quality of their products. I came in looking for whole uncooked lobster but they only carried whole cooked lobster at the time of my visit. They're running a sale during this last week of August and I found some lobsters for as low as $5 each! I also picked up an 8-piece tray of salmon nigiri and it was surprisingly so good. The cuts were larger/thicker and fattier than a lot of sushi restaurants. The rice was well seasoned too. They also have their ready packed food like kimchi fried rice, kimbap, and japchae at the left corner of the store by the food court seating area. The food court also only has one restaurant at the moment. I feel like this location is a lot more calm than other ones. I didn't have to circle the parking lot for a spot and the checkout lines were really short. read more

Legit H Mart for all your Asian grocery needs. They have a high variety of items that are of Chinese / Taiwanese / Korean / Japanese origin. You can tell a lot about how an Asian grocer is operated by checking out the aquariums. I'm happy to report they are extremely well maintained (and so is the meats section). For some reason there has been a shortage of Chinese style dumplings but hopefully that has already been addressed. The frozen section is in the back and is HUGE! Don't miss it, cuz there are a lot of frozen goodies for you to check out. read more

My last review was not accurate. They do have Sushi. They still have good KimBap. But they have alot of Sushi last time i went. Everything from Salmon Nigiri (only 10.99 you get alot). To Variety Nigiri (11.99?) you get Raw Fish & other sushi. They also have California Roll 6.99 & 7.99. When I was there, they had fancy Salmon Roll too for 13 ? I forgot. I was focus on Sushi & did not have too much time to look for juice. So I went to wrong Dept. In the snack aisle I found a good looking juice, Grapefruit,Apple,Lemon 9.99. but when I went home i found out it was Grapefruit Vinegar. It taste like Vinegar ( like Apple Cider) but like Grapefruit. I was going to return but decide to keep as probiotic. Later, my Dad want to go Hmart for other things so I went too. I found they had regular Cranberry Mango for 5.99, but you can get it at Safeway for 3.99 onsale. Anyway, if you are looking for Juice go to the Fruit Dept (not snack Aisle) and look for Yogurt or near the Fruit & Veggies there is Refrigerator full of different Juices ( next to Cut Fruit). For good juice you have to look below the Yogurt. All good juices near bottom of Fridge you have to have time to look) Anyhow, it is convenient. Extremely RUDE staff. They misplaced the price tag of a fish and when we found out the actual price, we didn't want to take it. The staff had not started processing the fish yet and all he needed to do was to put it back. He smashed the fish back to the pile of ice with all his strength, right at us. Hmart, did you train your staff in anger management? You misplaced the price tag in the first place. Why are you mad at your customer by your own mistake? Did you underpay your staff so they are full of tantrums? Update: I went to the store and talked to the manager who has kindly retrieved the video. He has apologized for what happened and for the attitude issue the staff had. But a lady cashier insisted being in this conversation, and kept defending on behalf of the staff. She said we are over sensitive, "the staff was busy and he threw the fish as a usual routine", "he threw the fish back to the pile, not on your body", "you mixed up the price so he was frustrated". Before we left the store, she mumbled something to the manager and gave us a look of disgust. Oh please lady, if you want to get a promotion, work harder, don't fight with us and put up a show in front of your manager. I'm appreciative of the manager's acknowledgment of the issue. Just recently discovered this HMart on Deanza Blvd. I've been here twice now. My last visit was just this Sunday. Spent close to 300.00 worth of groceries there. I amhappy with everything about from great produces to all kind of meat selections, and finmy cleanliness. Well, not until you start to plan a nice cook dinner for your family, and come to find out when you open up the Lo Mein noodle package, you find mold!! We just bought that two days ago and been in the fridge since then. It is extremely disappointed and now we left with just the veggies dishes and no noodles to accompany them. I don't know why I had such high expectations for this H Mart location versus the one I'm use to going to on Old Oakland. The only thing both locations have in common is the hectic parking lot. This location had me feeling very claustrophobic and I am not a fan. The selection of items at this location was very limited. The store itself is smaller than the Old Oakland location IMO. Pricing wasn't an issue for me because I've gotten used to it due to inflation and whatnot. We got the items that my daughter wanted / needed but I have deep regret of not just going to the Hankook Market on El Camino because at least I knew that they carried a wide selection of items to choose from and the location of the store was bigger. I don't know if it's just me or if we came later in the day but there wasn't any pre-made meals or a good selection of side dishes when we arrived around 7:30 PM today.
