    Lemonade with mint
    Jen M.

This really hit the spot. We were driving from Omaha and needed something tasty and filling but not too heavy. Love love love the mint limeade. I got a Middle Eastern salad and my husband got a grilled shrimp meal which we were kind of sharing. The food was delicious and I think we ended up being hungrier than expected, so I will order my own darn meal next time! That's absolutely no fault of the restaurant though as the portions were large, and I really appreciate the hummus and pita that came as a side. There is a lot of variety on the menu including vegetarian and vegan options. Service was attentive and helpful. The interior decorations are colorful and unique. Also, there is a huge display of baklava and other desserts that looked absolutely amazing! I definitely will be stopping back in if we pass this way again. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food is what matters, and the food is good.

I love this place. It's located in a weird area of the Northland but worth visiting. There's also a middle eastern grocery store next door. I've ordered here (to-go) several times and everything taste great. Prices are reasonable and they have a pretty large assortment of dishes. I'd love to try some others when I come to dine in. The space is quite small and adorned with unique paintings that make you feel like you're back in the homeland. Food was prompt and it didn't take too long. Will have to come and try the other things.

The hummus was tasty, bread was warm. The lamb a bit chewy, but flavourful. The saffron rice yummy! The ambiance was interesting, pillow in every booth.

The quality of the food has gone down. Instead of having the traditional salad, they are using the mix sald bag they serve in school. Portions or down and the price is high. For the price I paid, I could have gone to Curry in a Hurry and gotten better quality or Zanias..ugh Service has always been slow.

Wonderful variety of delicious entrees. We love Mediterranean food and were happy to find this location not too awfully far from the Kansas City airport. They also have an excellent selection of desserts, which we enjoyed. My wife ordered the chicken. Shawarma and I got the beef Shawarma. The rice is very tasty and we enjoyed the hummus with pita bread as well. I'm excited to hear that the owner will be opening a site in Springfield, Missouri. We will be regular customers for sure.

If there is rice involved, 9 times out of 10, I am going to be thoroughly invested. I was in the mood for Mediterranean food, so after a quick "Shwarma near me" Queen Sweets popped up, and I was on my way. I decided to try out the chicken Shwarma, and I was not at all disappointed! (They do not have pickles if you prefer your bowls made that way.). The falafel was hot, crispy, and so good it barely made it home with the rest of my meal.

While this place looks like a hole in the wall from the outside, the restaurant was awesome! We got bread and hummus, chicken, steak, burger combos, salad, and baclava for dessert! We were all stuffed leaving the restaurant and it was great to meet up and eat something different!

I got the mashawi mix plate and it was very good . I wasn't a fan of the rice as it tasted like cinnamon but the beef and chicken and veggies were very very good . The lamb was great flavor just a tad chewy and the hummus was very good

I was so forntunate to have a great Mediterranean restaurant so close to where I live. My boyfriend and I decide to go in there for lunch one day and have been hooked ever since. I tried the Beef Shawarma plate and my boyfriend got the single Mashawi Mix plate, both came with hummus and side salads. The Mashawi plate had grilled lamb, beef kabobs, and grilled chicken. I like both plates but favored the Mashawi plate because everything was delicious and tender. We like it so much that the next time we got the huge Mashawi combo and ate that for the next couple of days. I was very impressed with the quality of it even togo. There was so much for $29.99. I would love to bring that to a potluck. While we were dining in there the first time, I saw a gentleman order the Lamb Shank with rice and quickly devour it. I had to give it a try. We ordered it togo a couple days ago and were so glad we did. It is now my new favorite item to order from there. The lamb shank was moist and fork-tender. I could not believe it. I highly recommend this place! It's a hole in a wall with friendly and fast service. There are plenty of dessert options too!

This is some of the best Mediterranean food I've eaten in Kansas City. Ive repeatedly been satisfied at the flavorful and ample portions. Today i just stopped by for some of their baklava, which is so flaky, rich, and sweet. On previous trips, the beef schawarma plate, and the gyro and fries was excellent also. The service is prompt and accurate, but they might work on being a little friendlier and flashing a smile. I think developing a friendlier environment would make this very good restaurant truly "excellent." Despite the matter-of-fact transactions here, you should expect to receive a meal that is authentic and consistently delicious.

The name may be confusing but the food and flavors are unmistakably awesome ! We've been looking for a great place for Mediterranean place in the Northland since we moved to KC and Queens fits that bill. The hummus - on point. The pita - really nice. The lamb - tender and flavorful. Been back several times and every time, the food is just delicious. Definitely worth your time if you're hankering for some great food !

Furthermore the presentation was sub par it looked as though the vinaigrette bottle ran out as they were decorating it So we had only half the normal flavor from the sauce and none of the flavor from the crumbly ovecooked cheese. We had loved the previously authentic Mediterranean lentil soup BUT this time the soup was not seasoned well! It tasted like plain lentil soup with not enough curry/ turmeric seasoning and too much black pepper and it was not blended well and it had NO shredded carrot which is Traditional for it to have! And Zero saffron flavor I also was not happy with the rosewater Lemonade w/ saffron it was not the original drink we fell in love with... This time it was an artificial lemonade no real lemon juice, too much sugar "no saffron taste" Rosewater taste was there but was off-putting in an artificially flavored dyed drink! Our main Entree was the SHISH TAOUK The chicken chunks did not have the consistency of slow cooked over charcoal chicken, the chicken was quite firm, possibly it was all breast meat? However it did taste good and authentic otherwise! my Turkish coffee was okay not exceptional. We had ordered an extra bowl of soup for son but the black pepper taste was too strong for him to eat it! With 20% tip because I do not punish a good waiter because the cook or Restaurant failed, Our bill was $75.36 needless to say without some major recipe changes and better cook we will not be back!

You feel welcomed the second you walk in, and somehow that warmth makes its way into the food too. I've tried just about every Mediterranean spot in Kansas City, and this one stands out every single time. It tastes the most authentic and the least commercial by far. Everything feels fresh, intentional, and made with care. Nothing tastes rushed or mass produced. There's real love in the food here, and you can taste it. Their dolmas especially take me right back to my grandmother's kitchen. That kind of food memory is hard to put into words, but if you know, you know. Comforting, fresh, flavorful, and made in a way that feels deeply rooted and genuine. With the World Cup approaching and so many people coming through Kansas City, visitors need to know about places like this. These are the local spots worth seeking out. The kind you leave talking about afterward and craving again the next day. And if they have the mint lemonade, order it. The rose lemonade is always incredible too. If you can get both, mix them and thank me later. A true Kansas City gem. You won't regret stopping here.

What really stood out, though, was the fava plate appetizer. It's a dip that comes with pita bread but it's not like hummus. You could eat it with a spoon. It could be a meal, a very tasty one. Not your typical round shape but more of a tube/long shape which really works great for dipping them in tzatziki. We also had grape leaves which come warm. Yummy! We had a chicken shawarma and gyro entree. Both came with rice, salad, pita, and hummus. All very good. My one criticism is I prefer my protein sliced more thinly instead of a thick cut. It's a texture issue for me. The thicker, the chewier. The chicken also had a bit of chewy skin. It could have had more flavor. Still good but this is what made my review 4 instead of 5 stars. I thought the gyro had a little more flavor than the chicken. You order at the counter and then they walk your food out to you when it's gone. Our two appetizers came out very quickly. Our entrees just a few minutes later. Service was smooth and very good. The guys working there were all friendly. Great service! The restaurant is very clean, plenty of seating, and lots of appropriate artwork. It was cold in there but it was really hot outside that day so they had the air turned up. It did make my dining in experience a bit tough since I couldn't escape sitting under an air vent but I don't really want yo criticize them much for running the air in a hot day. That's better than the alternative. On the way out I got a small variety pack of baklava and a rice pudding. Both really good! I'm still eating the baklava. I really like being able to get the variety! It's hard to choose. We would definitely go back again. On the way out, we saw 2 gentleman with gyro salads. Wow, it's a huge bowl with gyro piled high! Looked fantastic and I want to try the gyro salad now!

It was a small touch, but it immediately conveyed a level of attentiveness and professionalism. The highlight of the evening was the service. Kareem was exceptional. He didn't simply take our order--he guided us through the entire experience. His knowledge of the menu was impressive, from explaining dishes in detail to recommending wine pairings that complemented the meal perfectly. He checked on us consistently without ever being intrusive and genuinely made us feel welcome. He wasn't just selling food; he was representing the restaurant and the overall dining experience, and he did so exceptionally well. The restaurant itself strikes a wonderful balance between sophisticated and approachable. It feels upscale without being pretentious. I appreciated the attention to detail throughout the space, including the beautiful brass accents above the bar. The patio looked inviting, although the summer heat made indoor seating the better choice during our visit. The food arrived surprisingly quickly, and every dish we ordered was outstanding. Some of the selections were served chilled, which likely contributed to the speed, but nothing felt rushed. The quality and presentation were excellent. My only minor caution is parking. Depending on when you arrive, you may need to park a couple of blocks away and walk. It's not a deal-breaker, but it's worth planning for. If you're unfamiliar with the area, it may be helpful to call ahead and ask for parking recommendations. Service was prompt and courteous, but the food was very disappointing. We were served a cucumber salad that oddly tasted like peanuts, followed by six completely flavorless meatballs--no seasoning at all, not even salt. The prices might be reasonable if the quality matched expectations, but it didn't. The contrast between the main dining room and the "other room" also felt stark and uncomfortable, as if it were a second-tier seating area.
