Very interesting dessert. I guess it's good for shaved ice. But certainly not a sweet dessert. I do however recommend the Nutella and red bean stuffed waffle. I believe one of those with the soft serve would have hit the spot. Was looking for a very sweet treat and although these are good I wouldn't necessarily recommend if you're in the mood for a heavy dessert.
I really love this place. It always has nice vibes, great music, and a cute little Photo Booth where you can take cute photos. They also have cute headbands and accessories that you can use for those pictures. The food was very good, I shared with my roommate and we thought it was very yummy. I am glad to see there is a bingsu place in Overland Park.

Not quite sure what to order. Cashier explain what everything was and promptly took our order. I decided on a Matcha Takiyaki with red bean. The Takiyaki was yummy. It's a fish shape soft waffle with ice cream. Korean dessert dishes was $13 a bowl. I thought it was kind of pricing. Then we say people sharing a bowl which look like it's big enough for two people. Next time I would be back for the dessert bowl. I think they need to come up with better sign for their store. One that will stand out and attract attention. Current logo or sign is a bit boring.

If you've never had korean dessert, THIS is the shop you want to start at. Get your sweet tooth fix without going too overboard on the sweet! Cute spot for a sweet treat! They specialize in soft serve ice cream, with their primary flavors being milk, matcha, cookies & cream and taro. Had to order the milk and matcha combo, and added the taiyaki which is a sweet cake in the shape of a fish. I chose the custard stuffing option. Overall flavors were really tasty, and not too sweet. It made for the perfect after dinner dessert! Final review: 4/5 stars
This is my first time trying Bingsu. I loved it. We picked Forest Leafy Bingsu. As it turns out, I don't like Matcha. But all my friends do so we got one to share. I ended up eating the most of it. It was so good. I want to go back here and try all the flavors. The Bingsu portions are huge! We got one to share between 4 of us. We still had some left over at the end. The little cafe is cute too and they have a little Photo Booth you can dress up and use the provided props to take pics in.

The wait time is relatively short, and the taiyaki comes out hot and delicious! I was looking locally to satisfy my sweet craving and decided to give this place a try ! The staff was very friendly and answered all of our questions when it came to ordering. The cafe is decorated nicely with plenty of natural light coming in. I decided on the mango bingsu which was soooo delicious and refreshing on a hot day. The bingsu itself has a light flavor and doesn't feel like it's weighing you down like traditional ice cream. It also came with a side of sweetened condensed milk, which paired amazingly. Looking forward to returning to this business soon to give more of their menu a try!
2 Stars on Yelp means that it, "Could've been better." And honestly, I wouldn't even make the trip back. The soft serve was average at best, and I was really disappointed to find that the center of my cup was empty, since the ice cream was just swirled along the inner edges of the cup. Contrary to what another reviewer wrote, I found that the taiyaki did have an interesting mochi-like chew. However, I've traveled internationally, and I'm more familiar with taiyaki being a fluffy, pancake-line consistency with a light crunch on the outside (similar to waffles). So... take that as you will. The bingsu was below-average. I just think there's a lot of room for improvement with regards to taste and visuals for the price. As an Asian in the Midwest, sometimes you just take what you can get. But in this case, it wasn't worth it for me.

We got the strawberry mango bingsu, but they also had taiyaki, along with a full coffee drink menu. We ordered and were given a buzzer while we waited. It took about 10 minutes for our order to be ready. I also got a coffee (unfortunately, can't remember the name, but picture attached for reference) which also tasted great. There was plenty of seating, and it wasn't too busy when we went in the evening. I'd definitely come back, since this is one of the few places in KC that offers bingsu (if not one of the only ones!)
This is quickly becoming a regular dessert spot for me and my friends! The service is always very quick, even if there are quite a few people in line. The attention to detail and decor in the space is very fun and thoughtful, with a photo booth and plenty of pictures of their offerings! There is also plenty of seating in the space, and it seems to be kept clean. My friends and I always make sure to get a bingsu and at least one other dessert, we especially love the taiyaki! I would definitely recommend sharing a bingsu, as it is pretty large to eat by yourself. Additionally, they have a wide array of offerings on the menu, and plenty from drinks to ice cream and other desserts. read more

I went in a little while back and ordered a bingsu. I think it was a mixed berry one. I absolutely loved it. It was amazing. I felt like the queen of the laundromat, eating my bingsu while I did laundry. The owner made it for us and was really helpful in suggesting what I wanted because I was so excited that I couldn't figure out what I wanted. The place was so peaceful and well decorated, I felt very welcome here. Definitely a place to go if you're looking for a fun new experience. read more
Really interesting concept with unique flavor options. I admit I didn't fully understand what the base of the dessert consisted of, but it wasn't my thing - mainly just plain shaved ice/milk with toppings. It's very light, so not really what you're looking for if you want something heavier and/or more rich. The stuffed waffle things were really good. We tried the chocolate and red bean flavors. read more

I really love this place. It always has nice vibes, great music, and a cute little Photo Booth where you can take cute photos. The inside is super cute, and there's a photo booth as well. We ordered the Oreo bingsu and the shaved ice itself was fluffy, but the flavor was mild. If you head over to "I Am", down the street, their shaved ice is flavored without the syrups on top. read more

I visited Leafy Korean Dessert Cafe on a Tuesday evening. I was fairly empty and they did not serve many of their menu items. They only had the matcha and milk flavors available. My group ordered both and one with the taiyaki with a custard filling. The taiyaki was very good as well as the custard filling. read more
What a cute dessert cafe! The bingsu was light, fluffy, and perfectly refreshing--just what I needed on a warm day. I tried the classic green tea ice cream with red bean topping, and it was divine. The combination of the earthy matcha flavor with the sweet red bean was a match made in dessert heaven. The real star of the show, though, was the homemade taiyaki. These fish-shaped treats were fresh out of the oven, with a crispy outer shell and a warm, sweet filling that melts in your mouth. Paired with the bingsu, they created the perfect balance of textures and flavors. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the staff were so friendly. I can't recommend this place enough if you're looking for authentic and delicious Korean desserts! read more

Not that KC is full of Korean dessert places, but I didn't expect the bingsu to be so expensive or the taiyaki to be so terrible. I'd visit if friends wanted to visit but I wouldn't come back on my own. The service was fine, the atmosphere is cute (they have a photo booth!) but I can't get over the absolutely awful taiyaki. The portion of bingsu was small for the price and seemed a bit slushy. The taiyaki had the texture of stale, chewy bread. It had no crunch, no appropriate mochi-like chew (like from tapioca flour or similar), and no flavor either. The soft serve and filling were fine at least. read more

Came in on a Sunday evening and every table was full. The space is small so you are sitting close to other groups. We ordered the milk + matcha taiyaki. The taiyaki was soft and chewy and paired perfectly with the soft serve. There's a photo booth available and props on the side to choose from! That was a lot of fun and it was $6-$8 dollars for two prints and a digital version. read more

WOW! What a delightful place to get a sweet treat! The shop itself is immaculately clean and highly instagrammable and the staff is friendly. The bingsu bowls are MASSIVE yet refreshing and not too filling because of how icy they are. But don't get it twisted - this isn't regular shaved ice, it's milky creamy shaved ice with delectable toppings! A perfect solution for when ice cream is too heavy. We got the Forest Leafy (the signature dish) which is a lovely concoction of matcha and chocolate with a brownie topping. It was so delicious! I cannot wait to come back here to try the croffle (croissant waffle!!!!) and I'll definitely be bringing my friends here all summer to beat the heat! read more
I've been hoping and praying for a proper Korean dessert cafe to make it to the KC area, and it's here! Leafy has croffles (croissant waffles), a variety of drinks, and bingsoo (Korean shaved ice). Good bingsoo should be a mound of fluffy shredded milk layered with toppings and condensed milk drizzled over the top, and that's exactly what this bingsoo is. At Leafy, there's additional condensed milk provided on the side to drizzle across as you eat. Lots of places around OP (including I Am Frozen) advertise "snow cream", but none of them are as well-executed and authentic as Leafy. My friend and I ordered an injeolmi (Korean bean powder) red bean bingsoo as well as a strawberry and mango bingsoo. I was so excited to see injeolmi on the menu and it came out perfect! Was especially glad that they included rice cakes, which were the right combination of chewy and pillowy. The strawberry and mango bingsoo was also great, but once I saw the mango bingsoo at another table, I did wish I'd ordered that. The strawberry is a little on the deflated/artificial side, and the mango bingsoo comes with whipped cream. Next time! Would highly recommend a fruit or candy flavor to start if you're trying bingsoo for the first time, and injeolmi for more traditionally Korean flavors (iykyk). read more

I've tried every Bingsu/ shaved ice shop in the area and this place definitely is my favorite. It's the most authentic Korean bingsu place and has a bunch of flavors! They also have the sweet waffles and an assortment of drinks that I will need to try next. It's on the more expensive side, averaging $12 a bingsu but it's a good size to share with 2 people. The ice is super soft and slightly sweet. Nothing was overly sweet and they gave us the condensed milk on the side so you can add as much as you want. The injeolmi was all of our favorite since it was full of red bean and soft rice cake. We ended up purchasing extra rice cake for about $2.50 since it was too good. There's a good amount of seating but tables seat 4 at most. Ordering was super easy and the cashier was super sweet and helpful. If you're debating on trying this place out...just do it. It's definitely worth it! read more

Solid place in Kansas. If you like Korean shaved ice then this place is the go to spot. The shaved ice is finely shaved and they use milk ice instead of water ice. Great toppings. The croffle is delicious too. Chewy and crispy. read more
I found this place on Instagram and was so excited to try! I love Korean desserts and was excited to have Bingsu for the first time. I believe when I visited they had just officially opened their store. The owner I was speaking with was soooo sweet and helpful! There was so many to choose from and fun fact you can also take it home without it melting!! (perfect for me as I love 35 mins from there). Overall, the place was so aesthetically pretty. The desserts were amazing! I can't wait to come back and try different items from the menu!! read more

Amazing. My wife is half Korean and ate Korean shave ice as a kid, so the expectations were extremely high coming here. The ice itself is the tiniest crystals either us have ever seen. It's mixed with some kind of light milky sauce. The bowls are frozen so it doesn't melt early. Portions are huge. Two people easily for everything here. We also tried the croffle. Also stellar. Light and with a nice crisp shell, but a chewy texture inside. We were nervous because the expectations were so high (reliving child hood memories and all), but they delivered. Don't be taken back by the price, remember everything is plenty big for two or even three people. read more
I discovered this establishment when looking for dessert alternatives after dinner tonight. I chose this area because it was the first option that appeared and was closer to my current location. The cafe is set on a strip with numerous other businesses. When you walk into the café, you'll find that there are numerous sitting options for you to choose from. Because there weren't many people in the cafe when we arrived, we had a variety of seating options. Near the counter, there is a display menu screen where you can browse all of the offered items. After you've decided on your pick, proceed to the counter to place your order. After placing your order and paying at the counter, you will be given a bell that will alert you when your order is ready. After that, you'll select a seat and wait for your order to be ready. After the buzzer sounds, you will return to the counter to return the buzzer and pick up your order. It's a very simple and convenient service. The Strawberry and Mango Bingsu, as well as the Matcha and Red Bean Bingsu, were ordered. Both were fantastic and not overly sweet. I enjoyed the freshness of the fruit toppings on the Strawberry and Mango Bingsu, however the matcha was my favorite. I had a great first experience here and will definitely return to try other delicious alternatives! read more

If you're a fan of Korean desserts or just looking to cool off with something sweet and refreshing, Leafy Korean Dessert Cafe is a must-visit. I tried the Strawberry & Mango Bingsu, Injeolmi Bingsu, and Chocolate Bingsu, and while all three were really good, the Injeolmi was hands-down my personal favorite. The injeolmi (roasted soybean powder), chewy rice cake pieces, and nutty almond crunch were the perfect combo over their milky shaved ice. It's subtle, nostalgic, and just hits different. The Strawberry & Mango was bright, fruity, and super refreshing, great if you want something lighter. The fruit was fresh and the balance of sweet and tart was perfect. The Chocolate Bingsu is for all the dessert lovers out there, rich without being too heavy, with chocolate shavings, syrup, and brownie bits that make it feel indulgent but not overwhelming. Leafy has such a calm, cozy vibe, and the presentation is beautiful. Everything came out quickly, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Whether you're sharing with friends or treating yourself, you should check out this place. I'm definitely coming back just for that Injeolmi bingsu! They also have a fun photo booth, perfect for snapping some memories. It's $8 for two photo strip-style prints, or $10 for two larger ones. read more
