I can't comment on the service because this is coming from an event where they catered the habit food truck... however I thought the burger was pretty solid and the caramelized onions were a nice addition. I liked that they do default grilled onions which gives burger a nice smoky flavor! I didnt get cheese, but at times I think I needed some more sauce going on(4/5). The tempura green beans were a highlight because I wasnt expecting it to be as good, but it had an amazing crunch, texture, and taste. I came here based on a 20% off coupon I received via email. I placed an order via the kiosk. I was unable to request extra grilled onions on the kiosk. I also could not request extra pickles or easy lettuce. The kiosk offers no change or none. Additionally, I don't really eat fries. I was unable to substitute for the green beans, which are much lower in carbohydrates. I waited patiently for my meal. While waiting, I got a work call. I guess they called out the order one time but I didn't hear. I walked up about 15 minutes after ordering and my order was on the counter...totally cold. I asked if it's possible to sub for green beans on the kiosk and the guy said he could charge me the difference. No thanks, that's wasteful to throw away food. Then I find out that the soda machine isn't working so I could drink super sweet strawberry lemonade. I don't drink sugary drinks. I said I would drink water but the lady that told me about the machine didn't offer to fill the empty glass in my hand. So I drank nothing. Pretty disappointed with my experience today. Cold food. I've always considered The Habit as a mid-tier burger chain with their shining star - the Santa Barbara Char. I recently visited two different locations and noticed both had kiosks at the front entrance. My family loves The Habit, so I downloaded the app to make my life easier. I always place my order in advance through the app. If you input your birthday, they give you a free charburger. It's one of the better birthday freebies, if you ask me. Seating is typical. They have standard tables and restrooms. If you want to get some fresh air, they have outdoor seating as well. Always a solid burger that keeps me satiated. read more

Last night was my first visit at HH. I ordered two Sta. Barbara Cobb salads to go. The service was outstanding! I wish I had taken the names of the young female and the male in the dark blue uniform shirt that were working the cash register and counter. They were friendly and attentive with every customer. They suggested some menu items and helped me decide on some extra sides that were not on the menu. Despite being busy, they were both so patient and helpful. I will absolutely return. The salads were flavor full and I did order some extra chicken to add to my salad. The tempura avocado wedges were pretty yummy. Great ambience, great customer service, and delicious food. While my wife and I were placing our food order, I asked my daughter if she could ask the staff member for seven water cups. The employee named Kat instructed Julian, another staff, to inform my family members that water cups are just meant for water while I was purchasing meals from her. The employee, Julian, approached my father-in-law and reprimanded him for drinking coke. He then took his drink and disposed of it in the trash. Is that even necessary? Wasting the drink and scolding instead of being professional and respectful? However, my wife did purchase the combination meals that include drinks! As my wife and Kat, the employee, were having an argument, Kat was acting rather rudely toward my wife. According to Kat, you cannot have sodas until you pay for the drink. However, we did purchase the combo with drinks! As we eat within the restaurant, we observe every customer entering and filling their water cups with soda, Kat and Julian didn't even care or say anything. Even the three Blaze Pizza employees who work next door came over, and Kat gave them free big cups for soda and other refreshments. I had been an old customer for many decades since the Company opened its first Restaurant in Santa Barbara. For the first time ever almost all my today's order was wrong. Ordered a Double Char with cheese, the cheese was not there. French fries, not in the bag. Tempura green beans, not there. Ketchup pack, not there. Ranch sauce, not there. The order was to go. We had an order for four people and were handed 2 packets of ketchup. No acknowledgement of the customer or customer service. Food: for the $70 I spent I will take my business elsewhere next time. All of the lettuce in our burgers was old (see picture). The burgers looked like they were thrown in their wrapping paper. Jalapeños had a weird old flavor. I've been to this Habit Burger a few times and I've always dreaded the parking and long wait situation. This restaurant is located in the plaza with Sprouts, Burlington, Blaze and several other businesses. On this last visit the wait took 15-20 minutes minimum. It was during the dinner rush around 6-ish. I can never find close parking so I usually park in front of Burlington or Sprouts, but all the way towards the back by the apartment complex. During this visit the line extended to the outside beyond the door. It was really busy! Instead of dining in I just got my food togo. My order was a char burger, onion rings, and their new crispy chicken (10pc). Burger was good, no change in quality here. Onion rings were actually darker in color than other locations, thinking they cooked it longer? Either way, it was super crispy. As for the crispy chicken it was not worth it. For a 10 pc it's like 6 something, but with tax it's like 7 bucks. I counted my pieces and some were just pure fried flour so definitely not worth it. So skip the crispy chicken! Overall this Habit Burger is decent. Just be prepared to wait a bit because it's a really busy restaurant during the rushes. read more

Do you enjoy mocking foreigners and the mentally disabled? Maybe just like to watch? Come on down! Walking in to pick up our lunch order, in front of me was an Asian dad and his clearly blind and mentally disabled teenage son. He asked if the order on the counter was his, in a heavy accent. This led to a nice back and forth with a fabulous young woman who berated him with "If it's not your name it's not your order" and snatched the bag from his kid. Spoiler: It was his order. He was asking about something missing from it. And I bet they did mess it up because they also left the drinks off my order (fortunately I found this before leaving and went back and got them from the very annoyed staff member. How dare I after all!) So it was nice to come in an see this unnecessarily rude interaction with a man who's crime seemed to be a heavy accent and the distraction of a disabled child. Oh, and I asked for a ranch dressing (on a $50 order which I also tipped on) and was curtly told "69 CENTS!", and then she walked off. Like, I was annoyed by the effort of having to pay 69 cents, not the cost. But she was more annoyed. Because she left. Literally yelled 69 CENTS at me, turned around and walked off. I really enjoy The Habit in general, but the customer service at the Alhambra location is truly superb. I often visit with my partner, who has dietary restrictions that make it difficult for her to eat at many restaurants. However, she's always able to find something here that works for her and truly enjoys the food. From all the Habits she's been to, she says the chicken in the Chicken Club Sandwich is the best tasting at this location--every time, it's perfectly cooked and flavorful. We come for the delicious food but keep returning because of the amazing customer service. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and welcoming. You really can't complain with fast food chains like the habit. It's a solid charboiled burger with shredded lettuce. The price could be a bit cheaper but that's okay. I've been to this location so many times its hard to count and all times its been super good, solid fries and burger. Although this time, they made my fries super salty, I've never had my fries as salty as how I got it. Aside from that, solid place to go to and its pretty clean!
