I LOVE Yoshinoya! I grew up on beef and chicken bowls from this chain;therefore, it's nostalgic and a comforting meal. My favorite has to be their BEEF BOWLS (Gyudon); add tons of ginger with Japanese pepper flakes and am happy! This Alhambra Yoshinoya location is solid. Nice employees and kitchen cook that cares. I usually love Yoshinoya but the hours are not accurate at this location. I made an order online and pick up said 11pm. When I got to this location there was a sign at the door saying it closed at 10:30. Which is an incredibly frustrating experience. Do not recommend coming here during night hours. read more

It's been several years since I've had yoshinoya so I did come with very low expectations. Checked online for deals, saw that it charges for extra broth and ginger??? WTF? So decided against online ordering and so glad I did!!! They have additionally in store deals! We scored the 2 large bowls for $16.99 tonight! Chicken teriyaki was well prepared very juicy and crispy edges. Veggies were on the soft side but not mush. This was my biggest concern cuz back then I remember the veggies being "no teeth required" mushy. Rice was very nicely cooked medium grain. Beef bowl, I guess because he packed our food to go the beef broth came in a separate container. I used to get it with them just adding extra broth into my plate. Kind of a waste of containers but I'm going to assume it was me not communicating we'd be eating here. Person behind the register tonight, young gentlemen, was very kind and helpful, and very informed. If the food worth 5 stars? Of course not lol. But I'm so happy because I was borderline hangry and they delivered tonight!! Would definitely come back! Pro-tip: order in store for better deals. Online website is a scam! The only reason why I've been coming to this location is because it's nearby my house. And my recent issue was on August 29, 2026 around 5:30pm. I placed an online order when I was on my way to the restaurant. And once I arrived to the entrance there was a sign that says due to their AC issue they're closed for the rest of the day. But if you guys are closed that also means you should remember to turn off your online ordering system as well. And not still charging us who placed an online order. Some other customers might not live nearby in the area. So I was told to give them a call when their general manager is there and she was very friendly and helpful and solved the issue. The meat was cooked very well and I like the slight spicy kick you get from the sauce. You also get the option to add on green onions, if you want. The service was great and it was reasonably priced. Do not go here. The woman who I assume is the manager on shift when I went today for lunch is so incredibly rude to her colleagues. There were barely any people in the store and yet she acted like there was a line thru the doors. I feel so bad for the people working with her and them having to get berated in front of customers. Yoshinoya is comfort food to me. There's just something about it that I really like. I like to get the combo plate with grilled teriyaki chicken, gyudon beef with white rice and veggies. I always ask for extra beef juice on the side and red peppers. I feel like the quality of Yoshinoya has improved in the last couple of years. Their grilled teriyaki chicken is really tender and I can really taste the flame broiled flavor. The gyudon beef is very tasty. This particular location is clean inside and service is quick. 2.5 stars I've never written a review for Yoshinoya b/c it's just a standard teriyaki chicken bowl/plate. This location in particular is B-U-S-Y. And they're understaffed and employee turnover seems high. It's unfortunate because I really liked some of the ex-employees who worked hard. Anyway, I've only ever gotten their chicken or beef bowls because my attempts to try newer menu items have failed spectacularly. I have tried the udon, orange chicken, and tilapia once...they were all pretty bad. The only time I ordered the udon, it was an oily mess, like they were scraping the bottom of the pan for the last pieces of broken noodles before they had to make more. The orange chicken is a sugary, breaded mess. The tilapia was forgetable at best. Just now, I tried their Thai tea and that was an insult of a drink to humanity. The 24oz cup was filled with 75% ice, you can barely taste the tea, and it costed $4. If you're in the San Gabriel Valley, I highly encourage you to drive a little further to pick up boba drinks that are actually worth your $$. So, the safest bet has and always will be the Teriyaki Chicken and Original Beef. Instead of creating more mediocre menu items, I wish they'd focus on perfecting a few of the ones they introduce. And figure out a way to keep the good employees here. read more
