Very nice location and very clean. This was my first time visiting this location so I don't know if this is a new location. This location has really cute outside seating if you want to dine in, but there's plenty of indoor seating as well. We visited to redeem my birthday free char burger. Service was fast, the staff seemed friendly, it wasn't busy at all but I don't know if it gets busy. I ordered the fried avocado to eat with my char burger but it wasn't for me. I would not get that again or recommend it. The texture and taste was a bit off putting for me. Habit burger is a pretty good burger place. I recommend the fried green beans or the onion rings as your side item, they are always consistent with cooking their food. If you're in a rush, then you're at the right place since they never take long here. I've always loved The Habit Burger, and their Brimhall location continues to deliver with friendly, fast, and courteous staff who make the experience that much better. One of the biggest highlights for me has been their Impossible Burger -- a fantastic option for anyone avoiding meat. Recently, I tried their new veggie burger replacement, and ... it was just as satisfying. It was grilled perfectly, holds together well, and the texture and seasoning make it a worthy replacement to the original Impossible patty. That said, ordering it through The Habit's app is a whole different story. Trying to substitute a veggie patty for a regular one feels like solving a puzzle. The app isn't intuitive, and I found myself going in circles trying to make a simple swap that never happened which made my outing 20 minutes longer than it had to be. Then they didnt answer their phone, so now I have to go inside, wait in line then. Finally, order It's disappointing because more people might opt for the veggie burger if the process were easier. Hopefully, they update the app soon to make veggie patties substitution possible..get it...? Despite that-- the food is always fresh, and the team is genuinely welcoming,Nice outdoor eating area. . Ordering was a snap, except for the part where you need to decide. So much good stuff on the menu. We opted for the Santa Barbara Burger because it was on sourdough. We also got a side of fries and their special Rainbow shake. It was a beautiful day, so we sat out near the fountain. The food was out in less than 10 minutes. It was hot and tasty. I had to take a day before I can review this location because I have never felt so insulted in my life all for a hamburger and some fries. I understand that during these unprecedented times patience is key. From waiting in line, ordering food, receiving food, and eating it in the car, outside, or even taking it home.. we should practice grace and patience. Well.. let me tell you my experience with this location. Ordering food was a gem. The cashier was super helpful and was attentive to my needs and my cravings. She even helped me save money by suggesting the family meal and did her wonders in making sure I ordered correctly. Taking the order was done to perfection.... thank you! Receiving was another and the customer service that followed was a nightmare. I got my food, I ordered a lot because I drove 30 mins for this and hooked up members of my family as well. When I received my order, I specifically asked.. "is this all of it? Are the fried green beans in there too?" (Mind you, all I wanted and craved for was those darn green beans) .. the person that gave me my order said yes, that's all of it. I watched her and it didn't seem like my whole order. I asked her specifically, are the green beans in there? She looked at me and said yes! I looked and thought.. i don't see anything green but might be buried in the fries. When I got home, my army was starving... they got their food.. one by one... I laid out the meals on the table, starting an assembly line so the family can get their food. But wait.... the fries were slightly uncooked so I had to put them in the air fryer, hamburgers were good.. lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, condiments.. all good! But where is my order and a side of green beans????????? Nope! Nothing... I was so dumbfounded that I even looked in the empty bag, like it was magically going to appear like Mary Poppins never ending bottomless bag. So fries were re-cooked in my airfryer...easy fix. Missing food, I had to call (3x) ... 1st time got a hold of a person and they were going to remake my food and was semi rude that I was upset. Look, i am hungry and I didn't get my food... plus I drove out of my way to satisfy my cravings and STILL didn't get it? Am I wrong for being upset???? The man on the phone wasn't even emphatic that I was hungry and missing food. Still, I was like... I just want my food. 2nd call... got hung up on 3rd call... (mind you, all im calling for is to let the store know I can't come back because MY lunch was over and they shouldn't remake the food) A woman answered, she was soooo rude, as I tried to explain my situation... she didn't listen AND just diverted me to "if you have a complaint about the location, direct it to the online website" and just shut me out. "Have a nice day!" never sounded like a slap in my face ...all this because of a craving for some fried green beans. Needless to say, I will NOT be going back to this location EVER again. I WANT my money back for the rudeness, the worse customer service I've ever encountered for a hamburger... and if I ever get another craving for those green beans... I'll make them myself. Smh. My first visit to Habit and it was a solid lunch. When you get your burger in a bag, do it come out like the picture? No. Is it very tasty? Yes. I went for a standard cheeseburger and fries combo - you get a lot of fries with the combo. Comes with a drink and their lemonade was above average. The wife did same as above but had hers lettuce wrapped. Again, very solid. We also got two ranch dressings, I assume that as hers was lettuce wrapped, therefore it is more of a handheld salad. Anyways, it was nice for the fries. Ordered through the app which is very efficient compared to others. We arrived and our food was out very promptly. Mask, gloves - seemed very hygienic. read more

We went to this location a few times and generally it's been okay, but the last couple times the food has really disappointed. The patty melt was not cooked fresh, it was too overly salty and cold by the time it got home 5 minutes from restaurant. The rings & fries are half good. The rings were good but the fries were about the saddest I've had in a long time. They were cooked far ahead and must have been the last of the bag since the longest ones must have been about two inches. The other order for a bbq bacon burger was more lettuce, mayo, and pickle than meat or bacon. Thoroughly disappointing for sure. In all, we spend nearly $30 for literally and only the convenience of it, since the food was/is not at the standard the chain was built on. I went on a Friday night and when I pulled up to the window, everyone seem to be done for the day and hanging out. The fryer guy dumped my onions rings in the fryer and left to talk on the phone. The manager decided to stop hanging out and chit chat with the girl he was standing around joking with a few minutes later. Approximately 15 mins after the fry guy had put them in, he came back. I seen the onions ring were burnt as they were packaged. So I showed them to girl at window and she offer to redo them and I said of course because these are burnt, but then the manager step in and told me that is the way we always make them. That is how we cook them, so we are not remaking them. I said seriously and he just smiled. So I left with onions rings that even a dog wouldn't eat. I will never go back there again. I am obsessed with Habit Burger. Okay? I'll admit it. It is my guilty pleasure fast food of choice. I love so many things about it. The locations are extremely consistent with good service and good food, and this one is no exception. When it comes to the ones in Bakersfield, this is the only one without a drive thru which makes me a little sad, but it's close to my house so I still frequent it. I love that there is never a huge line I have to wait in for 20-30 minutes like some of my other fast food favorites. The food is made to order and comes out hot with good flavor. The prices are reasonable. The employees are always so friendly and helpful. The eating areas are always clean. The bathrooms are always clean. It really is the little things that add up and make a great, consistent experience. If you want Habit, this is a great location. read more

Chicken Sandwich on wheat, no sauces and no cheese. Food is made to order so you are given a buzzer and you wait. Expensive here for what you get. My grilled chicken was tiny and thin. The bread and lettuce took over. The chicken was also dried out and overcooked with no seasoning at all. I left dissatisfied and hungry but I would give them another chance and order something different next time. I know I gave a generous 3 stars but I want to like it here. I am absolutely horrified by my experience at this location. I ordered online and got my order to go. When I got home of my sandwiches had a GLOVE in it! DISGUSTING. When I called the store they offered absolutely no resolve. No offer of a refund, no remake of the sandwich. Nothing. The worst customer service, especially considering we are in a Pandemic. I've been a fan of the Habit for a few years and was super excited to hear that they would be opening multiple locations in Bakersfield. I had previously visited them in Ventura, Santa Barbara and Visalia. I'm always a bit hesitant to visit a new business within the first couple of months as they rent to be working out the kinks in their operation. Plus my previous experiences with the Habit had been pretty stellar. With all that being said, Bakersfield didn't mess this one up. Burgers have been cooked to perfection on multiple visits. On my most recent visit, I ordered to go and the fries got soggy pretty fast which was a bummer. My mom ordered a pretty awesome looking chicken salad that she said was great. Little sister said her chicken nuggets were good, and my dad's BBQ burger was saucy! My wife and I had the chicken club and it was delightful. Crisp bacon burger on sourdough. Kind of hard to mess that one up! Staff are friendly and very helpful when it comes to this location. My family had never visited The Habit so the dude at the front counter was kind enough to make a couple recommendations. Overall I'm pretty jazzed to have a decent burger joint near my home. Prices are a little on the high end but you get what you pay for. Great tasting food with friendly service. What more could you want??? read more
