The Habit is a great addition to the Echo Park area! I've been craving burgers more often lately, and The Habit sounded great for a quick and reasonably priced dinner. I got a Charburger with Cheese and Onion Rings. The burger was a good size, though the meat patty was a little bit too salty for my taste. I'm not the biggest fan of the shredded lettuce they use. I wish they would use a large piece of lettuce like In-n-Out or Shake Shack. The bottom bun also got a little soggy even though I ate pretty fast. The Onion Rings were so good! I asked for ranch and smothered each onion ring in it. So creamy and sinfully delicious, definitely an indulgence occasionally. Why is their Ranch so good?? Service was fast and efficient. I had a appointment in DTLA and stopped by my dads house for a visit. We walked here from my childhood home off Sunset. I wanted to go to Honey Hi but I thought it was too hipster for him. This location is on the gorgeous renovated strip mall with Chipotle, Starbucks Reserve, Cinnaholic, Roots & Rye, and Hammer & Nails Grooming Shop for guys. My dad liked it! The star of the show was definitely punchy charred flavor of each bite. The vegetables provided a lightness that allowed you to savor each greasy bite and forget feeling guilty about eating a burger. The ooey-gooey cheese and crispy char - although a clash of texture - had me looking forward to the next bite. Want to spice things up? They've got you at the condiment bar with jalapeños, Tabasco, and other peppers. Feeling saucy? Don't forget to ask for ranch and sweet mustard at the counter. I wish parking was a little easier. I'm a long time customer of this Habit Burger location. I go there for lunch during work every once in two weeks. Since couple weeks ago I noticed the togo box is filled with liquid. The sandwich was drenched with water. The bread was soggy and everything fell apart after taking one bite. The lettuce wasn't fresh at all. The entire burger was dripping liquid. Absolutely disgusting. It happened three times in a row recently. First it was Santa Barbara Char and then Chicken Caprese sandwich twice. On my fourth visit I told the staff about the experience. This girl with the weight who appeared to be the store manager shook her head and told me their togo burgers are sometimes like that. What a silly excuse. I've been a customer for years and their burgers were never submerged in liquid like this. Well, I was certain that the cook didn't like my complaint. He gave me that unpleasant and aggressive gaze on me. I was pretty sure he was mad because he tossed my food like it's no man's business when it was ready. Well, it happened forth times now. I highly suggest you to go somewhere else. Unless you want a burger that is submerged in some unknown liquid. This problem will probably last for a while judging by how the staff handles this issue. I was really disappointed that they are not distancing guests ordering at the registers. The two registers are very close and if one guest is up there you cannot stand six feet apart. When it was my turn to order the cashier waved me forward but I kept trying to point to the two guests that were basically standing where I would be. I was not comfortable being shoulder to shoulder with them. There is a small parking lot. If you cannot find parking there is a residential street behind where you can park. I forgot that the charburger comes with grilled onions. I prefer the raw ones so I have to remember to be sure and read the menu better in the future. Yes, I ordered a salad from a burger joint!! Came here because we couldn't find parking at the restaurant we wanted to eat at across the street, so we ended up here. You can park in the parking lot for 20 mins. Some spots are 2 hours. The menu had a ton of options, so it was hard to narrow it down. They do have veggie burger option, so that's dope. They had a pic of their SUPER FOOD SALAD and it looked amazing. I asked the really nice (and patient) cashier about the salad, and she said it was one of her favorites. The Habit Burger on Sunset has this can't-miss decorative signage on the outside, and the inside is nice and clean. Make no mistake, In-N-Out is still king here in LA when it comes to burger chains, but Habit Burger has carved out a spot for themselves and the quality of the burgers prove that they belong. The Charburger with cheese combo would be the introductory choice for first-timers. You can really taste the char on the patty which gives it that smoky burnt flavor. I liked the shredded lettuce they chose to go with over a whole slice, but I can do without mayo in my burger. The cheese isn't that memorable but a burger without cheese just feels wrong to me. The fries are pretty standard, so eat them ASAP as they dwindle in quality by the minute. As a nice convenience, there's a stand of jalapeños, banana peppers, and chilis available for your use. $9 for a burger combo is pretty standard nowadays, so I'll say that this place is an okay option for someone who just wants to conveniently grab something nearby without hassle. read more
