This is a review of this location, not the Habit at large (the one in South Jordan is a frequent stop). This location was really struggling when we ate here last Saturday. First - flies - everywhere. Summary: Meh. Burger bun was too thick and dry, chocolate shake was syrupy, fries were decent. Deets: What I ordered: Char-Burger with Cheese Fries Chocolate Shake Habit Burger competes directly with In-N-Out and Five Guys on style. The burger, fries, and shakes menu are very similar to In-N-Out in both options and price. One advantage Habit has over In-N-Out and FIve Guys is that they have a few other sandwhiches and salads on the menu. The Tri-tip steak sandwhich looked great, but that's not what I ordered - maybe next time I'll try that. The burger itself tasted really average. Nothing stood out, except the bun - and that was a negative - it was a large thick bun and was quite dry, and overpowered the rest of the burger. Kind of like the big hamburger buns you can buy at the grocery store. I liked the fries better than In-N-Outs (which I dislike because they're fresh (ironically) and single fried rather than flash fried, frozen, and refried like most places), but they weren't anything special. The shake was similar to In-N-Outs, which means not great - it is supposedly made from real ice cream but the chocolate tasted like Hershey's syrup. It was just ok. That said, I salute the owners for opening a new business and this just happened to be this location's first day. Given that it's brand new, this place was really clean, which is a bonus. Perhaps after some time they'll work out the kinks and this place will get better, but for now, there are lots of great places competing for great burgers and this location doesn't rise above the pack. read more

I ordered the Original Char Burger with a side of sweet potato fries. I was very pleased with the first bite as it tasted very fresh, the shredded lettuce definitely attributed to that. Not only did it taste fresh, but I liked the fact that I didn't have to wipe my hands from grease after one bite. The food was fresh, clean, and well cooked; not too dry and not still mooing at me. The sweet potato fries were the icing on the cake, per se. This place is a place to eat a burger at, but it doesn't travel well. I tried to take one to go for a friend and within 20 minutes the burger and fries were soggy. The burgers consistently taste fresh, I would definitely recommend this place for a quick sit and eat your burger. read more

I would have a picture of my food but it was just too good to wait! I got the teriyaki car and fries, my husband got the Santa Barba salad. It was all so good! I will for sure be coming back here. You would not be disappointed with a salad either they are filling and full of flavor. The service was good too. Not bad. I was expecting mediocre food because of some of the reviews, but I quite enjoyed the veggie burger with extra avocado. I also found the tempura battered green beans to be fairly tasty. Actually, they tasted more like french fries to me, which is probably why I liked them so much. The prices are reasonable as well. I'll have to come back when they have the hatch green chilies in season. After countless bad experiences with other meat substitutes I was skeptical to try the veggie burger. Wow!!! I ordered it with avocado and mushrooms and I was blown away! So good!!! It was fresh, carefully put together and neatly put in a box so I could take it to go, not thrown in a greasy bag like most places. I almost wish I would've stayed to eat. I liked my first trip to the Habit. I told the cashier that it was my first time and she recommended the Golden Chicken burger, which I was already eyeing when I walked in. The place is named "Habit Burger" as a warning. I didn't take it seriously, and now I've been there four times without meaning to. Sometimes I just slip into a fugue and wake after a half-hour drive with the last bits of burger on my fingers. One of the most important ingredients in a good burger is fire--an ingredient too often ignored. I liked the normal cheeseburger, and the Santa Barbara was good with avocado, but the teriyaki is where it's at. Fire and teriyaki are like margaritas and daytime TV--they just go together. I ask for a burger, fries, and a drink, and a way-over-friendly pusher delivers within a couple minutes. Generally, I don't feel like walking, sitting up, or any strenuous activity after I come down from my meat buzz. I know it's not a healthy habit, but I keep it under control. The char burger is almost like a healthier version of an in n out burger. Was a little disappointed with the sweet potatoes fries not tasting freshly made. This place is good. Burgers are tasty. We had the BBQ Bacon Charburger, which we both thought was way above average. We also got the Tri-tip Sandwich and it was just ok. The meat seemed undercooked and under-seasoned. Chewy with very little flavor. Fries were also crispy, salty, and good. Would probably choose these guys over 5 Guys if they were closer. read more

Besides the long lines (which moved quick) there is nothing bad I can say! I had the Teriyaki Hawaiian burger, and some temper green beans which were amazing. Friends had huge double burgers, mushroom one and something with bacon and jalapeños. We had fires and onion rings, both where crazy good. I forgot how good a cheap, non-fast food burger can be. My goodness. I will start by saying that I had partaken of the Habit once before while living in California, but that was 7 years ago. I had been curious to try it again with this new location in Sandy but kept talking myself out of it. I was wrong to do so. I decided to check it out because I saw a photo of the menu and the pricing seemed reasonable. I got there around 1pm and the place was packed. Luckily by the time I ordered, I was able to find a table. My burger probably took 5 minutes before it was ready. I didn't get anything too complicated, just their number 1 combo with a single patty (cheese 50 cents extra, but it's worth it), lettuce, tomato, pickles, and grilled onions. The bun is nice and toasted and holds up to everything nicely. The burger is phenomenal. You get high quality ingredients and you don't have to blow a ton of money on a great burger. They have fry sauce to accomodate us crazy Utah folks. The fries are crisp and hot and the meal leaves you feeling full without having to load up on extra toppings if you don't want them. They also have a small pepper bar by the fry sauce so you can get some pepperoncinis or jalapenos if you'd like a little kick. As I walked back to my car, I was so upset with myself for not coming here sooner. I'll be back again very soon. read more

I ordered the Habit through Door Dash. I've done so in the past and no issues. This time when my driver got there to get my food this restaurant allowed another driver to take it so that meant my good had to be remade. I only live 2 miles from this place and my food should have been fresh. I finally get it and the food was horrible. The burgers were dried out and the fries were cold. I won't be ordering here again. A very good burger. They probably spent hundreds, if not thousand, of hours perfecting it. And then they spent 20 minutes picking their french fries, which were twice as good as Dairy Queen, and not nearly as good as most burger places. A company with a good hamburger, should have fresh-cut fries, or something a lot better than what they serve. With the quality of their French fries being so bad it makes me think when they ordered their meat, tomatoes, lettuce and other ingredients they just chose the cheapest option. First I'd like to start with some highlights: Santa Barbara style burger is great because it's on sourdough bread. Tempura Green beans are very addicting, make sure to order them with ranch to dip. The staff is nice and hospitable. As for the need improvement: the soda selection is slacking, there is no Dr. Pepper which is a sin for a burger establishment. When you order a burger they rattle off the condiments included very quickly, I think it would be better to have a Five Guys system where the burger is naked and YOU get to pick the condiments you want instead of remembering all of the items the teenage girl just muttered to you and then telling her what you don't want, which she'll most likely get wrong. read more

I go here for the tempura green beans! Hands down I always enjoy whatever food I get at Habit Burger because TEMPURA BEANS, and I get my sandwiches on toasted sourdough instead of a bun. Just makes it so much better. Lunch time gets very busy but they have a good handle on the crowd and the wait is never very long. I had the Santa Barbara style burger which comes on toasted sourdough and has avacado on the burger.
