The food came fast but I wasn't impressed. The Chile Relleno was a corn tortilla with cheese and a little piece of chile inside and dipped in eggs and didn't seem to be fried! It was almost raw. Disgusting. A good Chile relleno is a hole Chile (like the name says) charred, no seeds, stuffed with cheese and then, dipped in a fluffy egg batter and fried. Totally disappointed. This has for a long time been my favorite mexican restaurant. It is now in it's new location, which is great. However, it seems to be suffering from time management and waitstaff issues as well as quality control problems. We had to wait for everything at every step, never got water refills, never got a check, etc. Our crunchy items were clearly prepared crunchy but presented soggy due to the way they were plated. All in all, the food was good, but if these issues don't get fixed we will find another favorite mexican place. read more

What happened to this place? I started to write a long review of the events that just took place, but thought that no one from the restaurant is going to review this and make any changes anyways so I'll keep it simple. I placed an order for take out. I don't think the gentleman that took the order was familiar with the menu. Told me it would be ready in 10 minutes. I arrived 15 after placing the call. Got back home and the food was cold! Not just from the ride home cold, like straight out of the refrigerator cold. They forgot the tortillas that should have came with my meal, only half of the meat that was in my dish was edible. The other half were chunks of fat and my wife's meal had whole beans and not refried, which were not requested. Now I am all about trying to support local businesses as we do eat out regularly, but when the customer service and attention to details is as bad as it was tonight!?!? The service was absolutely terrible. My brother got a table for 6 and him and his girlfriend waited for the rest of the party to show. They seated them right away, but no one brought them water or even asked where the rest of the party is and if they need anything. Then, when the rest of us got there after 20 minutes, we proceeded to wait 40 minutes! No one came to us, no water, no nothing. After an hour passed by, my brother went up to one of the waiters to tell him we haven't been waited on. Then, we had to wait ANOTHER 20 minutes! We thought this restaurant closed because 559 Tacos was in their location BUT they simply moved to a bigger place. So we haven't been here in about a yrs if not longer since they moved. We think the move was a great idea! The food we perfect in taste and presentation!! The waitress was super nice and the best part is that they were open on Christmas Eve at 7pm!! We didn't have to sit outside in the cold and Yes they followed covid regulation by wearing masks, gloves, provided hand sanitizer and tables are spaced out for guests. Food was perfect, staff was quick and super nice! I wish they would open a location here in San Diego cause great Mexican food is not great out here. We eat at Hacienda Tequila 1-2 times per week and it is by far the best Mexican food in Fresno/Clovis! They treat us like family as we know most of their family that works there. We recently went in there for dinner and I was highly disappointed. Place was busier than usual and we waited for a good 15 minutes without any acknowledgment from the staff on tables or wait time even though 4 different waiters looked our direction. Went here recently on Easter and was very disappointed in the food; it definitely had an unauthentic taste and didn't seem very fresh. We had an excellent server, Anna, she was accommodating and nice, but she deserves a better employer, all the other employees were unfriendly and rude. I eat at Hacienda today with the wife and sadly salsa I put on all over my food from the squeeze bottle the waitress gave me was spoiled and fermented brought it to the owners attention she tried denying it was spoiled and when she brought a new bottle it was a total different smell and taste! However before the manager arrived we were ignored and every time we would try to wave someone over they would avoid eye contact lol it was kinda funny but annoying cause we were super hungry. Our servers name was Brenda-- not good service at all. Honestly I would give one star if it was solely based on just her. However I know this is a small business and once the manager came it's like everyone changed up super quick. We really enjoyed this place. They have plenty and parking and really good Mexican food. Stopped here at 8 pm after a long day of hiking with the family. Patio dining is available until 9pm. Service was fast and courteous. Restaurant, patio, and bathrooms were very clean. Restroom smelt great, which was a welcome experience after the public restrooms of the national parks this part week. Salsa and chips were both great. Portions were good size. Drink refills came right on time. Chicken fajita was great. Enchilada suizas were good. Beef tacos had a lot of beef but they were very greasy. Cheese and beef enchiladas in red sauce were okay. I'm used to texas red sauce on my enchiladas which have more chili flavor, these tasted more tomato pasty. Flour tortillas were a bit tough, not the soft fluffy ones we were expecting. Tried this hidden gem in Clovis! We read great reviews but wasn't sure how the food would be until we had dinner there tonight. The carne asada is a must try! It's charred and delicious.
