Unfortunately, once the haircut started, there was no communication about how much hair would be removed. The very first cut on the sides was much shorter than I expected, and at that point there was no way to undo it. If the stylist had explained their approach or confirmed the length with me first, I would have had the opportunity to say that it wasn't what I wanted. What disappointed me most wasn't just the final result--it was the lack of communication. When a customer brings reference photos and asks questions beforehand, I expect the stylist to explain the plan and make sure we're aligned before making irreversible changes. I left feeling that my concerns and the reference photos were not really taken into account. My mom had Tracy, who was absolutely wonderful. She gave my mom such a relaxing experience and noticed how tired she was. Since my mom has rheumatoid arthritis, Tracy gave her a gentle but firm massage that ended up being the highlight of her visit. My niece had Sydney, who was so kind and made her feel completely comfortable. She chatted with her throughout the appointment and encouraged her to speak up if she wanted anything adjusted. In the end, my niece's nails turned out exactly how she had imagined, the perfect mermaid color! I had Daniella, who was incredibly meticulous with both my gel manicure and pedicure. She paid great attention to every detail, and I couldn't be happier with the results. What really impressed me was how well the team coordinated everything. Since my gel manicure and pedicure took the longest, they timed my manicure perfectly so it was done while my mom and niece's pedicures were drying. At one point my hair was overly damaged from another salon (think bleach, damaged hair and lots of broken strands) and he was honest about how long it would take to trim and grow it back to my waist again. I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes if he's wrapping up another client, etc. First part of the appt is going over what I want to achieve. Then hair wash. Cut. Blow dry and style. He's straight to the point and there's no chit chatting. I'm usually out of there within an hour or so. There's no bathroom available, so make sure you get your business done before your appt. If you need to go, there's Starbucks across the street. As for parking, there's plenty of metered parking. But if you're not sure how long you'll be there, there's 2 hour free parking across the street from El Camino. The salon itself is hidden and on the 2nd floor. I was hoping for beige highlights and got bright blonde. I asked for a refund and was only offered a "fix it at no cost". I declined. Intervention: Reached out to Vance who did my hair in the past. Don't ask me why I just didn't come back. Vance was able to see me pretty quick and did an AMAZING job!! He gave me beige highlights and darkened the base which I just love. I'm tanned skin so the blonde highlights was not flattering. Evaluation: I am forever grateful for Vance. He is very skilled at his craft.
