I have been a client of Hair Free Forever for 17 years. I started hair removal treatment with Cheryl when she was a single practitioner working out of someone else's office. She helped me completely wipe out nearly a full beard a few years after the birth of my son which made me feel more feminine plus gave me back countless hours a week from plucking rogue hairs. Awful! Staff was rude, especially the owner, they tried to make me pay for a services that were not rendered. They would probably get more business if they knew how to treat people better. I can not believe that I was treated the way I was. The consultation was a joke. The funny thing was I would have paid if they had better mannerisms, and didn't lie!!!! I tried to call and get a little more information than what I could see on the website and the woman that answered the phone was extremely rude. She acted like she did not want to answer my questions and that I was bothering her. With that type of customer service I'm surprised they have any type of business at all. I was truly shocked at how annoyed this woman sounded by having to answer the phone. She did mention they have only had two people do a whole bikini hair removal which makes me think they don't have a lot of business. She also said it took up to 40 hours to do complete hair removal for bikini area. The one time I did laser for my bikini area, 30% of the hair was removed in one hour and it has never returned so clearly they don't know what they are doing and are ripping people off. Unwanted Hair Beware.... your pesty days are limited! As a fairly new client (about a year) I am very happy with the services. Each of the ladies in the office from receptionist to electrologist is enthusiastic about their job and happy to battle with unwanted hairs! They are OBSESSED... and this is a good thing. They consistently go out of their way to help me. As a Mother of 4 I need to make appointments when I can get a sitter or in the brief windows of pick ups and drop offs of my kids. They call when they have openings that they think will fit into my crazy schedule. I have seen each of them at least on one occasion. They are all consistent in being professional and understand you want as many hairs "zapped" during your scheduled time. On a different note, I was happy to read Sheila M.'s review - about Cheryl and her dog Sara. As a animal advocate. I feel Cheryl handled the mishap very well and treated her dog and the client as she should have. 11/14/14: So I notice the Owner (mgr?) commented on my review. She said that they offer several ways to numb the area that they are working on. Well, they did not offer this to me. Not sure why. Maybe it was because I bought the certificate through one of the deal websites. Also, kind of lame she uses my review as a way to further advertise their services. Hmm... I knew I was in trouble when I first called. I tried to make an appointment but the owner/manager (?) said that it wasn't regular laser hair removal (I knew that) and I should try calling Living Social and get my money back. It was like she didn't even try to accommodate me. Of course I couldn't get my $ back so I called again to make an appointment. The girl (very nice, new) said as long as I make my appointment before the expiration date I was okay. I got a call back again from the mgr/owner (?) and she told me no, that I could not do that. So by that time, the certificate had expired. I couldn't get the sessions I had bought and could only use that portion to buy one treatment (instead of the 3 I expected). What a hassle. The technician was very nice though. Did a great job and was very pleasant and informative. I do not notice a difference though as it was only one treatment. I can only assume it works as the other Yelpers say it does but was not worth the money for me. Also, it hurts. From a hair removal service perspective , I have nothing negative to say ; however from a customer service perspective I was put off when I prepaid for $300 worth of time that I could not use by the time I left the Ventura area due to my job being relocated . Just wanted to express how much I love the fabulous results I've gotten at Hair Free Forever! From the very first session---what a difference! I'd thought I'd tried everything, nothing worked! The dark, thick facial hair that seemed to grow exponentially after menopause was not what I considered normal, but did seem common in my family. Now after three weekly sessions, it's like I'd never had a problem. I found the owner and staff to be so helpful and they really educated me. I won't hesitate to get in and get those stiff white ones that grow once in a blue moon on my chin done too. Once they start growing, I know that's when the process works to get rid of them forever. As a male I was extremely reticent in coming and getting my ear and nose hairs removed. I met the owner Cheryl who walked me thru the process and explained they treat a lot of men. As a result I made my first appointment. The procedure is a little uncomfortable to start but after a few minutes I was fine and the thirty minutes went by fast. It is very expensive here, but thermolysis actually works, which is priceless. So, if you must go, use a technician other than the owner. First went here with a groupon type deal and unfortunately ended up with the owner, Cheryl, as my technician. Don't know how to describe her personality. She was judgmental in her conversations about others as she was giving me treatments, and strict with her rules that she had for clients, including signing something stating we had watched a video and then would try to catch me out if I had any questions, "didn't you watch the video??" I found her strange and uncomfortable, and negative. Anyway, I kept going because there is nowhere else close to get thermolysis, so I had to put up this woman AND the fact that she was only on time once for any of my many appts. I am talking at least 10 min late, but usually more like 20 min late, and as much as 40 min late. On one occasion I actually had to change my 45 min appt to 15 min to make sure I could pick up my child on time. And she would just drive up and roll in without apology, like nothing was wrong. Total disrespect. I would just sit there waiting knowing if I ever was late or a no show there was no way in good conscious she could charge me as she makes everyone sign something saying they will. Me, I was always on time except once when I was ten minutes late, calling to let them know, but no one cared because Cheryl, of course, was even later and not there when I arrived. Anyway, there came the day when I totally forgot about my appt. Cheryl had squeezed me in before lunch and when I realized my appt was happening and I wasn't there I called and she had already left and gone to an early lunch! After my next appt, she demanded I pay for the appt I missed. I was already sick of putting up with the b***h, so I handed the receptionist my credit card, cancelled the next appt I had just made, and thought, "parting gifts." Oh, and watch the clock. Toward the end, I changed my appts to 15 min because then every minute counts. If it was any longer suddenly a few minutes to rearrange some things or take a phone call wouldn't matter to Cheryl because the minute that timer went off, she was done. What else? Oh the 'down there' issue. If Cheryl had her way she would just work on face and eyebrows all day long. I specifically went there to get rid of hairs 'down there' and didn't see any restrictions against it beforehand and didn't expect to see any as I have been getting hair removal for 30 yrs and no one is squeamish or has a problem doing a Brazilian laser, wax, regular electrolysis, anything. Cheryl did. She said after I was laying there and ready to go that she doesn't do hair removal on areas where there are "membranes." Like its not embarrassing enough to be laying in such a vulnerable position? Again, just part of her weird rules because toward the end I mentioned it and she said if I needed it she would go down there. I guess she has to get to know you first?? I put off writing this, but I couldn't let all these generalized positive reviews go on anymore without a warning. Yes, it works, but everything and everybody here is not just wonderful. Cheryl is the best at what she does. She can tame any wild eyebrow into the most flawless and natural shape for any face! She worked on my brows two years ago, and then I moved away before I could finish, and after all this time I found out my credit doesn't expire. I am so glad I got a block of time because now she's finishing my brows before my wedding! One brow is slightly higher up than the other and I have too much hair on one brow and I'm missing an arch in the other. So Cheryl is is making them symmetrical with what needs to be removed and Veronica is Microblading in an arch for me on the other! I'm so excited to not have to deal with make up on my honeymoon! Trying to use make up every day to even out my brows takes forever and I rarely get it right. Another thing that I really loved is that they didn't let me jump right into Microblading. We played with shapes a few times first by tinting my brows and they collaborated about my final shape. They have done my cousin, aunt, and mother's brows as well. I started Thermolysis treatment on my upper lip, lower lip and chin in July. I am also now having my eyebrows done. I cannot believe the difference already! Previously I was using a prescription cream (to slow hair growth) called Vaniqa, AND needing to wax every 2 weeks. My only regret is that I didn't do this years ago! I have had very good customer service. When I called for my first appointment, I was so relieved that I was finally going to DO THIS that I was sort of blubbering with relief on the phone. Cindy answered all my questions patiently and with humor. I have only had treatments with Cheryl, but would not hesitate to see another technician if Cheryl wasn't available, as they have all been friendly when I have seen them in the office. When I asked Cheryl how many treatments I could expect to need, she was honest in her answer, she gave me her estimate based on her experience, but said she can't be sure because of my previous use of Vaniqa. That made perfect sense to me. I have experienced Cheryl to be very focused and professional, but also friendly and funny. I like to hear how much she loves her work, and to me, it shows. It seems to me that she works super efficiently, because she gets a lot done in the half hour I usually schedule. I wondered about Leticia C's review about the time it took to remove armpit hair. I would guess that would take a LOT longer since there are way more hair follicles in that area than on the face. I was pleasantly surprised at the cost of treatment.
