I felt the hot comb metal touch my scalp!! anyone else would have screamed but I have a high pain tolerance and am not tender headed but still I winced out loud because it BURNED. I really wanted to like her services. The wash was done in the kitchen sink, and so my mask got wet as I had to arch forward instead of leaning back like at a salon (this was at her home) but that was fine. However it was a scratchy wash. I've had an aggressive wash before by others yet it was still relaxing, this however def was not relaxing, but I appreciated that it's included and the shampoo/conditioner she used for the wash were great! Final hair 3/5 - puffier than I've had done in the past. maybe this is because she doesn't wrap the hair. it's just a silk press and after she burnt me (at only half way done) I think she was avoiding getting to close. Updating because owner replied back saying she never said she didn't accept her Groupon but I have a screenshot posted of her saying "no I am not" after I asked her if she's honoring her Groupon. She also says to talk to her directly obviously because she didn't want me to share this information. I'm upset I didn't even get to try this place out. I found this business thru Groupon and messaged the owner to make an appointment for both me and my husband and she replied back right away saying prices will be different and with a travel fee. I understand some businesses are working differently because of COVID-19 so I understood the travel fee but she doesn't even want to accept her own Groupon. Why even work with Groupon if you don't want to accept the lower prices??? I don't understand why. You do Groupon so you can gain exposure and get more customers but you don't want to accept the prices and so instead you want me to text you and pay your actual prices. Thanks to Groupon, I found your place or else I would've never heard of your studio. I came here last Sunday August 25 with my sister. It was a sudden idea, I had bought a deal on Groupon and decided to use it. I called the lady and she had appointments available at 630 and 8pm. I liked the hours so me and my sister decided to go for it. It's a small hair salon in Pasadena next to TJ max and she was the only one there. When my sister and I came in, there was 2 other ladies. So when you go, if there's other people you need to be patient because like I said she's the only one there. I had a nail manicure with 2 designs and my sister got a manicure and pedicure. I found this place on Groupon & thought I'd give it a try. I'd set my appointment for 11:30 today. I was a little lost at first & called the number on the Groupon, but no one answered, so I left a voicemail saying that I was close, but couldn't locate the store front. I hung up & shortly thereafter found the place, arriving with one minute to spare. But when I arrived, the door was locked & the lights off. I waited 5 minutes or so, but nobody came, so I started leaving. Just as I walked out, she called me to say that she'd forgotten the key, but that she was close by, so I sat & waited some more. She still hadn't shown up by 11:50, so I texted that I was cancelling the appointment. I stated being 20 minutes late was very unprofessional in my opinion, especially when she hadn't called me to tell me she was going to be late. She only called AFTER she received my voicemail. A couple of minutes later--after my text cancelling the appointment--she responded via text saying that she was close to Colorado (a good half mile away still). She reiterated that she'd forgotten her key, & said that she had already apologized to me. While yes, she told me that she'd forgotten the key, I don't remember her saying "I'm sorry." Simply that she'd had to go get the key, but was "close." 20 minutes late & STILL a half a mile away is NOT "close." read more

So long story short, I had an appointment with a different stylist for Senegalese twists but she was unable to do them at the last minute. I asked her for a referral however and she connected me to Tecumsah. Tecumsah asked me what I needed, moved some things around and got me in to do my twists the same day.
