Love this place! I just went for the first time to get a gel x removal after another salon had literally drilled into my nail bed causing a dent. Chi was amazing, she took so much care with the removal and was so sweet. I think the color application was fantastic especially since my nails have that bump in them from the last place. Great jobs on the nails honestly but it's over priced. I got a mani pedi. Pedi was like about $95 because it was some fancy treatment but no color. And my mani was solid color with 2 stickers total and glitters and it was $108. Total was $203 plus tip was $233. That's the most expensive mani pedi I've ever gotten. read more

I've gotten some really terrible pedis in Glendale and most people don't seem to be super down for the kind of manicure I get. It's all GelX, dip, or nothing. Nestled in a little shopping strip modeled after British "Arcades"-- It's a super small spot, but I like that. I've gotten both one of the best manicures and pedicures of my life here. Vy is a genius on my nails-- I am a content creator for a company, so a bit of a hand model in some ways. I like to get eye-catching designs, and Vy has not failed me yet. I get gel overlay/hard gel on my natural nails. No extensions. It's a time consuming preference, but Vy is a incredibly accommodating. Went here on a weekday with an appointment and got a gel manicure and regular pedicure. in spite of having an appointment they double booked and i didn't get to see my manicurist til 40 minutes after my appt. I asked for a french tip design on my ring finger for both hands and didn't notice it wasn't applied correctly til I got home. the glitter smeared all over my ring finger and residual glitter got on my other fingers (see pics). I wanna love this place bc it has tons of potential. It's such a great location and the parking is free on Sundays. They have a good assortment of colors and are friendly. I also like that you can book on Booksy. The biggest issue I have is that the place always seems untidy and crowded with stuff (e.g., Amazon packages, tea kettle on the floor, pillows and chairs with mild stains). They are also the only place that I know that charges for removal of gel (when you already have gel and getting a gel service). The quality of the work is comparable to other places that charge $50~ for a gel pedi, so taken together, the price point of $65 for the same service seems steep. read more

She was able to squeeze me in Saturday at the DTLA location, and I was very lucky to have Vy help me out. Vy removed the old manicure, reshaped all my nails beautifully and meticulously cleaned my cuticles (which still had so much dead skin on them...) And she did a beautiful job on my manicure! My first time at this salon, the space is really clean and cute, but I did not enjoy the experience with the portable wash basins, and the gel removal was more damaging than it had to be. For context, I consistently get gel manis and regular pedis and booked here on a friend's suggestion. Love the location but had a few problems. - the pedicures are not comfortable because they don't have a built in basin or professional chair, but rather an uncomfortable table chair and portable wash basin that they fill in a sink and move to you with a utility cart. Because of this, I could not relax during the treatment because I had to tense all my muscles to balance the bason, which almost tipped over a few times. - Still, my gel removal was the most frustrating because she used a nail drill instead of a push stick AFTER the acetone. It's normal to use a nail drill to sand off the top layer before the acetone soak, but after, it's really damaging, and it was clear that many layers of my real nail were removed. - Finally, my gel polish chipped within 3 days. Disappointing, but I may be an outlier as the other reviews seem really positive. read more

I've had many many many mani pedis. I would not return or recommend Nailbox Pasadena. I was lured by the amazing pictures of the nail art on their website. When I arrived I was told either that they didn't have the colors or that they could not produce that particular design. I finally settled on French with gold. They did not have the correct product to produce the desired effect so the technician used regular nail polish. (See picture provided) so not happy with my nails that I redid them 3 days later. I also found it odd that I was told " don't move " during my pedicure while someone was working on my manicure. I was shocked. I was very stiff and uncomfortable the entire time afterwards. This resulted in lower back stiffnesses. The place was cute but I ended up in in pain instead of relaxed and the vibes were awkward after I was shut up like I was back in school Stay away in my opinion. I really appreciate that they were willing to squeeze me in at the last second, as I needed a mani for an important event the following morning. The only issue was that the manicure was poorly done... I'm not sure if this is because they got me in for a mani just under an hour before closing.
