    Falafel Gyro
    Brittney S.

The falafel gyro was so burnt it was completely inedible! Unfortunately we took the food to go and didn't notice how burnt it was until we were already home. Waste of $20.

This food truck occasionally stops at my university. Is it an off day? Did I order the wrong thing? $12 lamb gyro was really gross. Pita was cold and hard to chew, lamb was like eating mushy strips of textured vegetable protein that had been defrosted but not cooked properly. Very salty and garlicky in a generic seasoning or bouillon sort of way. The only positive was that the veggies which dominated the gyro were fresh and crisp. I definitely do not recommend the lamb gyro.

Menu Memorial weekend in Alameda. I got the chicken rice plate and some dolmas.

Went back today and tried a chicken gyro. So delicious! And very generous. I took a pic but I'd already had a bunch of chicken.

What a cool and yummy food truck! The chicken shawarma rice platter just hit the spot during the Autumn Lights Festival in Oakland. Service was super fast! Chicken was flavorful and tender with the white sauce, rice was cooked well, and I mixed the salad in for a complete meal. Belly was full and I was ready to peruse the festival. Can't wait to try more selections in the future.

Best falafel I've had in years. Moist and they make it flat and grill it so you get lots of browned bits. Amazing!

We had borani kaddu - butternut squash with yogurt and garlic sauce. This was a good alternative to the common borani banjan. the texture was perfect, not overly cooked, went well with the warm bread. perfect for vegetarians. Our vegetarian companion had borani banjan - smoked, grilled eggplants in the tomato yogurt sauce similar to the appetizer we had. But served with rice and salad and green chick pea side provided enough serving. it was delicious - they have an option to make it vegan as well. Now quabili palaw was the star! massive size of lamb shank, well seasoned, well cooked, perfectly seasoned. The rice was fantastic with enough sweet carrots and raisins. Will be back just for this! Shami kabob came with two kababs (picture only one as our little one already sneaked one!). Kababs were juicy, perfectly spiced, with enough rice and salad. Between quabili palaw and shami kabob was enough for two adults and hungry child... Khoshmazeh!

I always ask for the meat to be a little crispy and they get it just right. The plate comes with lamb and beef gyro meat, rice, salad, hummus, and pita. I also asked for their orange yogurt sauce and hot sauce. My partner loves the orange sauce and says it has an umami flavor. For me it is just okay, but I really enjoy their hot sauce. It is not the usual sambal you get at a lot of Mediterranean spots. It has more of a salsa style taste which sounds a little odd but actually works really well. It has flavor without being too spicy, though I do like my food extra spicy. The rice here is also worth mentioning because it is so flavorful and has that umami taste that makes you want to keep eating it. The owner is always very friendly and welcoming too. The restaurant is right next to Target which makes parking really easy. Highly recommend this spot. I will definitely be back and next time I'll probably branch out and try something new.

This is clearly something the owner does because a few reviews below someone else mentioned her review was flagged and taken down. THE OWNER/MANAGER IS NOT A HONEST PERSON. The owner of this establishment contacted Yelp to remove my original review, claiming my experience was not legitimate. I am reposting my review with screenshots showing that | placed an online pickup order and visited the restaurant. The photos are timestamped from 2/3/2026. Transparency matters, and attempting to discredit a real customer experience instead of addressing it reflects poorly on the business. Flagged Content: Order: Chicken Shawarma Plate Total: $17.55 Location: 217 W Winton Ave, Haywara, CA 94544 I am extremely disappointed with this purchase. The food was not good at all. The chicken was clearly not fresh--it tasted old and seemed like it had been reheated in the microwave, possibly from a day or two earlier. The side dish with garbanzo beans also tasted old. The pita bread was cold and not even warmed, which shows a lack of care. The service was just as bad. When I arrived, the front door was locked even though the restaurant states it opens at 11:00 AM. I arrived around 12:35 PM. A gentleman eventually came to open the door. When I told him my name and that I was there for a pickup order, he seemed completely confused. A young lady then stepped in and asked about my order, and I had to show her proof that I placed it online. Apparently, my order was not in their system despite my confirmation. She told me my food would be ready in three minutes. I was on my lunch break, and there was no apology for the door being locked or for my order not being ready. I ordered ahead specifically because I was on a time limit. The fact that it was ready in "three minutes" made it very clear that the food was reheated rather than freshly made. The ambiance was also unpleasant. The restaurant has large chandeliers trying to appear elegant, but it doesn't work. Chairs were stacked on top of tables, so dining in wasn't even an option. There was also a strong smell of floor cleaner throughout the restaurant, as if they were trying to cover up another odor. Overall, I do not recommend this place. The food quality, service, and overall experience were very disappointing. This was a waste of money. I ended up throwing the food away because I was worried about food poisoning and didn't have time to return it since I was on my lunch break. I will not be coming back.

Baklava is one of my favorite desserts, but the flaky pastry portion was pretty tough and hard, and came straight off the pistachio layer. Plus, I was craving Persian food, specifically a solid kubideh. Their reviews were good, but their kubideh and chicken plate was over $20+. Persian food is usually on the pricier side, but spending that much on a lunch plate feels excessive. So, I went with the kubideh wrap for $13 which price-wise was more palatable. It came with a side salad and seemed like a good value. It took a little longer than expected, which was fine. But the flavor wasn't there, and I was hoping for the depth of flavor I get from South Bay favorites like Yas in SJ. I unwrapped the whole thing just to taste the kubideh on its own, but it was bland. Like plain ground beef. I had to use the salt and pepper from my utensils packet to give it something, unfortunately. On the bright side, the salad, a Persian-style cucumber and tomato mix, was excellent. The lavash was soft and fresh, and the other ingredients were solid. But the kubideh, the star of the show, was underseasoned. For me, kubideh is the test of a Persian spot. If that's lacking, I'm not coming back. Maybe they had an off day, but based on what I had, it just didn't hit.
